  1. Might be feasible to change this section to something more general that includes all of the US, then just have people put specific location in the title. You could break it up into a few sections I guess, weather related issues, other issues.. What ideas do you have LT Smoke? Just remember we need to keep the site organized. If we had a topic section for every state or even every territory, I think it would be overkill. I don't think we have enough members yet to support that kind of thing. But I am very interested in what you think we should do, I know having just that Idaho section is a little too personalized for Mike Kinda like reading his newspaper and trying to apply it to us lol.
  2. Well that's something. 1250F at 50mph and only 10psi hmm. Does it boost to 10psi just as quick as it did when all was fine? There are a lot of parameters on a 24V I am not aware of but I am thinking something is wrong with the turbo. I think the oil going to it might have had something in it or the thing is coked really bad or not even getting oil or something. Does it black smoke really bad? Have you tried sticking an air compressor onto the wastegate hose with no more than 30psi going to it and see if it opens and closes?
  3. The boost elbow has that hole to relieve pressure so that it doesn't build as fast. The line tries to build boost but the air gets leaked out into the atmosphere until you build so much boost that it can't leak enough out and it opens the wastegate. This air leak is adjustable and allows you to control when the wastegate opens.Your only leak was from the elbow? So there are no other leaks that could be doing it?Has it always been like that or did something happen and it's been like this ever since?

I'd say it looks a little different than this by now. I guess this is what it's supposed to look like when it's done.

There is one place I have been dieing to get in any boat, even a 55gallon drum that floats and go out and fish at this place. I took this I think 2 or 3 years ago. I was standing on something when I took this pic, anyone know what I was standing on?
  8. I think it has only been there maybe 2-3 weeks. I didn't think much of it the first week then just went all out clicking on everything.
  9. Are you guys kidding me? It's Google Maps! I must be the only person who uses it http://maps.google.com/ I did it at parents and it put a dot on the ISP, but the ISP here is about 3 miles west so I don't know how it pinpointed me.
  10. So I clicked this button that said track me (red circle), and it was within FEET of where I am! They are getting a little too good at their jobs Kinda scary though too.
  11. Think it's this guy you want to get in touch with. http://forum.mopar1973man.com/member.php/10225-Timbo
  12. Does anyone got a pic of the 24v one? Is it the same as mine? I think there are just 2 discs inside that black box and mine looks to have a way of opening the box and then I suppose you could easily remove them. Not sure, let me go hammer my box out so I can open it up. ---------- Post added at 03:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:55 PM ---------- Alright I was a little off with the disc thing. Don't remember where I saw that. This entire thing was labeled "Buzzer" where it plugged into the fuse block. http://www.mopar1973man.com//isx97/Truck%20Stuff/Ryan's%20Dodge/Interior/Other/IMG_1423.JPG
  13. Very interesting. Only problem is that this raises even more questions Why did it have all the bearings toasted and the flywheel and pressure plate all toasted. Why did it do anything it did! Did Peter have any ideas?

Never heard of it. Where's it at?
  15. Are you sure? Mine is right on the side of the dash on the fuse panel. Maybe 24v is different. I beat the hell out of mine til it stopped making noise (which was the point at which it finally came out of the plug it is in) Wherever it is, I doubt anything is going to happen by removing it. Mine is just a black box that contains the buzzer. The thing in the square is what made all the noise on mine. I just pulled it back until it popped out of the socket, but you can see I can't get it out at all because of everything in the way, so I just leave it there. http://www.mopar1973man.com//isx97/Truck%20Stuff/Ryan's%20Dodge/Interior/Other/IMG_1416.jpg
  16. No you can't use belt squeak as an indicator of that stuff Don't worry about it at all. Think you were kidding there but just had to make sure.
  17. Yeah it's just kind of a luck thing. I thought mine would do it if I revved it up but I just shut it off at 1000rpm and it still didn't do it. Maybe if I grease the belt a little it will My brother had a 94 that did it religiously. I think I have only heard mine do it 5 times since I have owned it. Maybe you have to have optimal compression for it to do it, since mine is probably nowhere near optimal anymore, tells why mine never does it. I still wouldn't worry about it. Like jlwelding showed, just the belt design/age can influence it. I think even belt tension would influence it. Not sure if the tensioner really wears out over time or not.
  18. Every truck I know of does it, besides mine anyways. Think my idle is so low it doesn't have enough speed to do it. Anyhow, what's happening is the engine is still turning when you shut it off and it doesn't have enough momentum to complete that final compression stroke, so it compresses and springs back, but it does this very quickly, so fast it jerks the belt. The CR trucks seem to have cured this but anything before that seems to do it all the time or some of the time or not at all. It's perfectly normal.

Well yeah it's the lake of the ozarks! Might need a boat though You got one? If I find out you have one we are taking it to the lake this weekend.
  20. It's that box in the fuse panel, you probably saw it. It just pulls out but you can only pull it out a little bit before it hits the side of the dash, on mine anyways. I just left it and didn't worry about pulling it out. Maybe you can get it out on yours.
  21. That 170mm means the diameter is 4.9mm wider on the newer fords. So if you held a ford wheel up to a dodge wheel and were to compare, you would only be seeing a 2.45mm offset from each lugnut if you centered them both. So "eyeing it" wouldn't work.
  22. Correct. They are standard PTO's. It is everything you think it is. Problem is, how do you get something in it.. I have no room on the passenger side because of the exhaust, and on the drivers side, it is still just a tight fit to put anything in there. I've had many dreams of what to do with it also Air compressor, generator.. Just almost impossible to do.
  23. I can see that. I just do everything because, say you are on the side of the road and a storm is coming, or any other situation where time is a factor, be late for a job, etc. You will have done it, you know what needs to come off, you might even be good enough to remember the size of all the wrenches. So you do all of the guesswork when you have time to do it. Then when there is no time for guesswork, you are ready, confident, and can fix it in a hurry. Do I sound paranoid that I am going to get mugged on the side of the road?
  24. Exactly the reason I have been taking everything apart to the greatest extent. Taking the dash completely out, taking the trans out and taking the tailshaft off to see the 5th gear nut (and fix it once), take the engine completely out.. Their is a 1st time for everything and I DON'T want it to be the time when I am on the side of the road. At this point, there really isn't anything I haven't touched or removed. I took a p-pumped 8.3 completely down to the block at school, so being about the same as mine, removes all the "1st times" within the engine. I haven't messed with the rear axle at all, haven't taken the cab off, haven't taken the bed off, haven't messed with the steering stuff, bout it. Rule in life, don't try to work on something that you can't fix, can't afford to have someone else fix, or don't have the time needed for the fix. I have enough things I can fix just about anything, that is most of the reason I am not afraid to tackle anything. The dash was a fetch, I am not a plastic repairer
  25. Now thats a boatload of pics! :thumbup2:For some reason I think all of your problems stemmed from that slave cylinder not having the plastic off. They are supposed to break after you install it and push the clutch, yours obviously didn't. I don't know how it shifted fine, had just enough to relieve it enough I guess, though I don't think it went all the way and it looks like it was still partially engaged and just sat there spinning and toasting the flywheel and pressure plate. After it toasted the pilot bearing, things went south since it wasn't aligned by that bearing and the clutch started grabbing unknowingly and bending the shaft a little and therefore everything in trans. Stuff in trans gets very hot from this and then stuff melts and other bearings go. Thing is, I don't see how this went unnoticed for all this time. Scary to think stuff like that could go on without making a sound until it finally does make a sound, the sound of the trans falling out and hitting the road I am not sure on my theory but that slave cylinder leads a lot of suspicion.
