My cheap winter front
I have left those on clear up to 60F without any difference. The only thing is, when your hauling something when it's that warm, you will probably notice it on your EGT gauge since the intercooler is also blocked off. In freezing temps you want it blocked off because the intercooler cools the air that feeds the engine to the point of being too cold. Sure cold air is denser than warm and you will get a performance gain, but that theory only works in the summer. In the winter it cools that air down to temperatures that do not support proper ignition. Even with the compression of the engine heating that air, it is still so cold that it makes you lose efficiency. So you put the winter front on so you can bump the intercooler temps up a bit and keep efficiency.

I need to make a copper block with set screws for each cable and wire. Hmm. Maybe I will make one tomorrow.

My cheap winter front
Good GOD! That is incredible! What kind of metal is that exactly? I thought the ductwork stuff had that galvanized look to it, yours seems to just look, well amazing really lol. If that tape doesn't hold up, just get a couple bolts, cut the heads of them off and weld them onto the back of the plate, then you can put a nut and washer on the back side of the honeycomb. Not sure how well that would weld. I think the tape will last though, has constant wind to keep pressing it down and all..

Help battery acid!!!
I popped the hood to look at this sensor but I got so many positive battery cables and wires and things that it's almost fragile to touch lol. I have 3 big cables going into one connector and a bunch of other wires. Actually let me just take a picture so you can laugh at it. They make these really big bolts and nuts where the bolt has a big slot down the middle and it's all copper and just smashes all the wires together. Can't remember what it's called and heaven forbid I take all that tape off Ah, one of these, split bolt connector.

That little circle with a spring under it on the drivers side is a battery heat sensor?

I need to snowplow my driveway...
Have a kid use the 4 wheeler.. Theres gotta be a hundred of them wanting to ride it all day. You can surely find one somewhere that will stop by and do it. I do a lot of stuff for free if I think it's fun or know I will learn something from it. Gotta be atleast one kid that thinks that way up there..

I need to snowplow my driveway...
Aren't there any kids around there that will do it for $20? Probably save you a bunch of money by not having to buy something for just snow. If you want to have fun doing it though, hmm yeah get some old thing. I have seen old dakotas with plows.. Get a V6 one and beat the hell out of it lol.

Anothe fuel pressure gauge question
I stole that picture so I am not exactly sure of all this, I have never seen your version of the fuel filter housing personally either. It appears to me that he has a needle valve screwed into there and then you screw your 90 into it so that you don't have to bend the ss line. You will probably have to adapt it down to 1/8" before it gets in the cab. I am very interested in what yours looks like so if you get a chance at another pic, get real close to the top so I can see all the fine details.. Searched a little more, found this pic, gives you a better idea of things.. The other pic shows which one you need, that one's mine so it doesn't have all those things drilled and tapped, but I think you still get the idea, you want the post filter pressure, if you put it on prefilter pressure, the filter could clog and might even start to build pressure on the gauge but your VP would die because the post side of the filter, being clogged, would have no pressure..

Anothe fuel pressure gauge question
I thought for a moment you early 24 valver's had the same filter as me, but theres some big differences in some things. I attached a pic of what you have, think you can see what you need to do. Heres what mine looks like, you can see all the changes you have over mine.. http://forum.mopar1973man.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=430

Safe fuel pressure
What do you expect, you keep playing with things, giving me all this time to take credit for your work You would think all pictures from that part of the site would bear the Mopar1973Man logo at the bottom, like all my album pictures

hemi/pre hemi question
Well for one, the hemi is a 5.7, so if you are sure it's a 5.9, it's not hemi. Nevertheless, they kept making the 5.9 clear up until 2003 sometime, then also in 2003, they transistioned to the HEMI and dropped the 5.9.

Tools to keep in your truck ??
This is all you need, hands down.

Cooling system
Hmm, the inside of mine could rival the coral reef I change it a lot but of course there was 250k on it when I got it and it looked the same way. Is there anything I can dump in and let sit and eat away all that crap after draining everything out and disconnecting it all from the engine?
-
Cooling system
Eh, I wouldn't be advertising that too much lol. There are a lot of people who have bad water, with sulphur and other crap in them that may cause a lot of buildup. So even though the creek may be fine and dandy, I wouldn't suggest this for everyone.

Ok how old are you???
And then there were 2, about damn time! I am 20

Tools to keep in your truck ??
Why do you think I have jumper cables and a tow strap.. Like I am ever gonna need towed or jumped with 4 batteries.

Tools to keep in your truck ??
You guys act like something is going to break on these things! All I carry is vice grips, crescent wrench, flathead screwdriver, tire pressure gauge, tow strap, jumper cables, some power service.. Rest is topped off with fishing stuff

EGT Question
Well temperature has a lot bigger impact than I thought on EGT. Never really pay too close attention to it's tendencies but today I was going 75 up a hill that you build 15psi to keep speed and it never got over 700F. Last I remember, it ran 650-700F doing 70 on flat ground. So the single digit temps are definitely taking a toll on it, even with the winter front on.

1926 Snow Machine
I saw that thing at work a year ago, very neat. That would take a lot of creativity to come up with something like that. Be neat if it would float across a pond..As for all the damn snow, we got 6" dumped on us overnight. I finally got back at my roommate though. He once said "if it's not 4wd, keep walking". I watched him try and back out of his spot in his 4wd f150, spinning like crazy, having to go back and forth. Of course fords limited slip on those 98-01? models never seem to work right so he spins one front and one back. So I said hmm, watch and learn. Pulled forward into his spot, backed back up the incline into my spot, never spinning. I shant be hearing his crap anymore.

Cold Weather --- Truck howls like banshee
Might be low on power steering fluid. Or just crappy fluid that isn't happy with cold weather. Either way it is something with the power steering pump. That thermostat is likely the 130F problem. One in it is probably stuck open.

Emissions Rant...
I can't say I am for the emissions test. We don't have one here but I go through enough trouble finding an inspection place that will pass a truck with no muffler and a cracked windshield. I don't have the money to fix a windshield that has one little crack going all the way across it that is not in my line of sight. I do think inspection places are needed though. I found out they don't have that in Michigan and probably a lot of other states, but I like knowing that the person in front of me isn't driving something in such bad shape that it puts my life at risk. I would definitely pay for an emissions test if I was living in Colorado though! Theres a reason you can see all the scenery there, which is something you would want to see there, we could use all the smog in the world here to block the degrading view.
