  1. Just the first page of that gets worse the farther you go down I forgot you mentioned the cab too, the 24V's seem to have more room in the firewall, like they are kicked in more or something. Not sure why it seems like that. Doubt it makes a difference on how it mounts up though. I had John's bed off and was comparing everything to my truck and everything was identical as far as I saw. Everything up front looked the same too. Might have just been an illusion on the firewall thing. As for that guy in the CF thread, I didn't look at the front ends of them, cept them bilsteins John has so not sure how much hacking he had to do. Dang it, forgot you were doing same style late model 2nd gen cabs, so yeah definitely not a thing different
  2. It's an 01 auto which is HY35, and that pic confirms it. I can't see the end of the EGT probe but it must be in the downpipe. Your EGT will be a lot lower than what we have been talking about in that other thread (manifold mounted EGT probes).

Who needs pecan oil when I can do this.. Also why I don't need a gun.
  4. I think Mike had this same problem with not being able to find it. I really didn't see anywhere that the compressor was leaking when I took it apart to be honest. Mike changed all of his o-rings in all of the connectors and I *think* it somehow fixed itself.

You learn that real quick Move the tractor back 50ft every once in a while or just park it in the black. It doesn't burn the greatest here. I had to light it 5 times with using maybe a gallon total of gasoline and then the wind picked up and it finally took off. I wondered later if diesel would have been better since it would have burned longer and given the grass a chance to get hot I have a lot more to burn.
  6. YES! I only know this because there is a dirt bike track under the main power lines (those huge ones that are straight from the power company and run 100,000+ volts) and they are only 30-40ft off the ground and everyone that has a truck that runs on a computer (newer than 12V trucks) acts up on them when they drive under it. So a surge of lightning could very well be enough to completely fry it. Could be wrong but I am betting money on it. You can sit there and listen to their trucks idle rough and do a whole bunch of other things as they drive under them.
  7. Burning off some grass and it formed into a giant horseshoe and was the neatest thing to stand in the middle of. All that orange smoke rising around you made you think you were in the temple of doom (indiana jones). Then the rest is pics from today, not a forest fire I guess but I thought it was pretty neat to see. The 25mph gusts today helped give it a good run http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMoGdeNfLoc Got some pics of it all too. If you want the full size pic just right click the pic and hit "copy image address" then paste it into the web address bar and it will come up full size.
  8. Johns were in the same spot as mine and that is comparing a 97 quad cab long bed 2wd to a 01 quad cab long bed 4wd, so I would say they are all the same as long as it is the same bed (long/short). The whole chassis was even the same as far as I could tell.
  9. I've been holding back but I want to throw this in there. I don't think the limits are a bad thing. I think they are very beneficial. You basically are saying "when passing someone, turn off your gauges as passing the person is more important". I admit I too have hit 1400 even 1500 but that is not exactly a GOOD thing. Over the years I have learned how to keep the EGT's low and I can pass someone without it getting over 1200 at almost the same speed as when I was hitting 1400. 1400F passing is also unnecessary. If you are passing someone then you are not on a 4 lane, if you are not on a 4 lane then you must be at a 60mph or less speed limit. Every time I pass someone starting from 50-55mph, I was at 80-90 when I hit 1400. That is not necessary, fun, but not necessary and not good on the engine. Also if you are getting that hot and see the need to run that hot, maybe you should accommodate for it by getting a better turbo/water injection, something. I haven't got over 1200 in a long time unless I pass someone with our trailer, and even then I don't get much over it. Limits are a good thing if you ask me. I don't care if it defuels to keep to the limit, better than it overfueling and melting everything. It is very easy to stay under 1200 (with the HX anyways) so I don't see the need to hit 1400, in reality that is the same as doing any other thing that all these racers that don't have money to race do, like blocking the wastegate or something, it is all hard on the engine.
  10. I've seen jets out here a few times shooting each other for a half hour. I didn't know they could do that. Guess it doesn't matter but was pretty interesting.
  11. Not sure on that one. I take it you found that allison out of something other than a dodge The specs might work but I am really not sure about that. Might have to wait a few hours for the ones who will know to wake up..
  12. Yeah it is really sparse info out on the net about 1st gen flex plates. That one should be right though as they specifically said it was for a 1st gen flex plate. Other one was for aftermarket ATS stuff. Sorry about the screwup :banghead:
  13. Well now I am finding 30 ft lbs for convertor housing to engine23 ft lbs for torque converter to flex plateI would use these as the 55ft lbs was from ATS.
  14. 55 Ft. Lbs. Took a while to find that one
  15. Engine Adapter - 44 ft. lbs.Torque Converter 35 ft. lbs.
  16. I heard you should turn the A/C on once a month also to keep it from ever leaking.
  17. Oh for petes sakes that dot in the middle is my damn house, they do that exact pattern around it. I knew they had to be saying "start turning when you see the guy with his hood opens house". They also do the same pattern for the B2 bombers. What exactly are they doing, just testing instruments or training?
  18. You gotta use the aluminized magnet The injectors are basically identical to mine (12V) except the angle of spray (direct cone vs. the 12v angled cone) and mine are 260 bar. I am not sure what effect it would have if yours are supposed to be 310 and you used some 260's other than more advanced timing.
  19. The seem to head diagonally circling my house then going torwards sedalia until I can't see them, they usually circle back around before getting to sedalia.
  20. I think your on the right train of thought. I don't think there is any "problem" with the truck. I think the TC is tight and the engine simply can't pick up the load quick enough. I know some trucks don't do it and I think it is because every truck is different and some trucks just line up all the stars that make it stall. Lower pop does sound like it would help it. If it were me, I would just stick one of those magnetic heaters on the tranny pan to get it hot. I would also just warm the truck up in neutral (to get the fluid moving in the tranny to help out a little) and then when you are ready to go, just turn it off and turn it on and put it in D real fast like you do to keep it from stalling. Did you ever put the injector cleaner in it to see if it fixed it again?
  21. Fix them things! We went over the million ways to check them..
  22. What? I was being nice. I been laughing at it for an hour Had to sift through everything to say only the good things lol. What is this thinner air crap? You were at like what, 5000ft, and you were huffing when you were only 10ft from the 4 wheeler At least this thread will motivate you to work harder Like I will do tomorrow I have a ton of thorn trees I need to cut up too. I'm thinking the tree will have less cuts than me in the end. --- Update to the previous post... Finally! 200MB took 28 min to upload lol. I tried to get rid of all the boring crap, but it is still boring. Chain saw wouldn't cut that cedar at all, so dull. I don't think it has been sharpened since we got it a couple years ago http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2pBz5M_P44 --- Update to the previous post... I've done this with about 10 fence posts now. At that rate my back should be done for in 10 months It was 32F this time. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dxqayx3Z_u8
  23. Not sure on location. The advantage with the J-hook with a 24V is you can keep that wastegate shut but have it defuel to keep it from hitting over 35psi. Like on mine, I have no way to regulate it like that, if I put a j-hook on it my truck would hit 50+psi. So if you ever read something like "I plugged the wastegate on my 12V!" never listen to any advice those people give It is different on a 24V if you are able to have that limit. I know Mike's edge comp doesn't have any limits so I think he would be in the same boat as a 12V, I don't know if the ECM on 24V has a boost limit that would automatically defuel or not.
  24. Mike has ran it down to -22F or something like that. So your good to go Ah here you go, scroll down till you see his temp gauge and read that little section. http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/cummins/general/2-cycle-oil/2-cycle-oil.htm
  25. Had to dig up the specs and yeah I guess they threw them on all automatic trucks from 2000-2002. Not sure why I was thinking 01 only Thanks Richie!
