  1. Cool/cold engine, wrap up all vulnerable electronic connections with aluminum foil, use half a bottle of degreaser sprayed from all angles, come back 20 minutes later and use the other half of the bottle again from all angles, come back in another 20 minutes with red tip on 3200 psi cold water pressure washer starting from bottom up to top and then back down to bottom so it gets hit twice, remove all aluminum foil, let idle for 5 minutes, go for a drive to check operation and dry completely, drink a beer or two...or six.
  2. Be careful with the hugging...too much of that and you're looking at a sexual harassment suit. You did a good job...I'm gonna drop my truck off at your house with a 12 pack in the front seat when my head gasket goes. I'll pick it back up in a week...
  3. Lol...you'll love the 3" body lift when it comes time to do power mods. Valve cover comes right off with no problem and plenty of room to work in there. I'm just like you, regular projects bore me...I need next level stuff to peak my interest...same goes for women.
  4. That's gonna be a beast!
  5. I think I do remember it only calling about 220 ft.lbs when I put the freespin kit on with the individual replaceable cone bearings...not the unit bearings.
  6. Not too bad for an old timer...almost there. I see 2 exhaust manifold studs on there. Did you run outta $ for the other 10?
  7. Lmao...yeah that's the beauty of it, you don't even have to ask! That's a badass coffee table you got there!
  8. Well said Dieselfuture...and I respect your opinion. You are correct about today's women...getting worse by the day. There is a philosophy (not an organization) called MGTOW which is catching on like wildfire worldwide...I suppose mostly as a backlash to 3rd wave feminism. I don't claim to be one but we sure do share alot of the same values and thought processes. If you found a good woman then you are a lucky man. As it happens there are very few of those left nowadays. I have compiled a strong balance sheet in the meantime that I'm certain I would not give any woman a chance to legally take it from me (marriage/divorce)...since courts heavily favor the female in such proceedings. I suppose life could be better with kids and eventually grandkids but I'm not complaining...life is good!
  9. Same thing I did pretty much...bought a donor gasser short bed with transmission issues for $800 and parted out everything I didn't need for more than I bought the truck for. It's the only thing mod I ever did that I made money off of...if you don't count the sweat it took.
  10. Oh sorry...I meant regular cab shortbed diesel. I know they made extended and quad cabs but no reg cabs unless you wanted a half ton gas...and that wasn't gonna fly. I only need the one extra seat...
  11. Lol...no worries I respect your opinion...it's better than mine having owned that many of them. They are one of my favorite looking trucks...they look badass when lifted and tires like your maroon one! I love the short beds too...only problem is Dodge didn't make them with a diesel and heavy duty drivetrain. So if you want one you gotta make it yourself...it used to be a long bed. Nothing but blood and sweat in the way...just like the project you got going on now.
  12. I hate to say it but that's a good looking Powerjoke. Poor thing had the 6.0... Most of my toys were acquired for the sole purpose of getting laid...Viper GTS, Bullet boat, Yamaha R1. My 2nd gen is the only vehicle I bought for me cuz I love it...but it also gets some attention. Never have been too keen on marriage...rather have my freedom, $, and the flavor of the month.
  13. I can tell that's alot of work...and I completely understand the ex comment. Your username cracks me up...I just noticed it. I live by the pump and dump philosophy myself...life is good!
  14. I use MoparMan's set up as well with a couple of slight differences. I added an 18" grease gun hose between the snubber and the needle valve (opened between an 1/8 and a 1/4) and then 1/8" air brake line straight into the cab to a mechanical gauge...no isolator. Works great...I have a direct gauge with about 1/4 lb of water hammer and never a leak.
  15. Looks like a broken ring or something foreign got in there...no hot spots.
  16. Looks like brand new still...cross hatching is very easy to see!
  17. Yes sir! There's a hell of alot of difference in the butt dyno between 15's and 12's...or 11's. And it's much more impressive when it's done in a diesel truck.
  18. To be honest it's not much faster than the truck...it's bone stock except for Corsa exhaust and no cats...450hp/500tq. They both run 12's...just on opposite ends of it.
  19. Only if you're bringing the Passat...
  20. Lol...I don't think you can hang...not many sporty cars can. I'm 6k lbs, 600hp and built auto. I like to think of it as a pretty good sleeper too...even you already think you can outrun me. If you steal my chick I'll pull my other Dodge out of the garage and get her back. You know how fickle girls are...
  21. I run mine straight mechanical with no electric pump anywhere on the truck. No codes were tripped when I disconnected the electric pump. Only difference is priming the system but seems like you got that figured out already.
  22. That's a good answer...and probably the only real reason to do it. As a male, the feeling of accomplishment will always bring you fulfillment. And there's only one way to get that feeling...and that's to get'r done!
  23. That's a great question and I really don't have a logical answer...but...the chicks definitely dig it!
  24. It's possible to have a bad bypass valve. You can also test that by removing the guts out of it to where it's flow straight through and then take pressure readings...or like you say get a new one and see if the problem goes away. Rubber shavings probably in there from factory when hose was made. Either way let us know what happens next.
  25. Lol...I concur!
