  1. If I remember correctly IBMobile has the Fuel Boss and an Air Dog Lift pump installed ready for a way to always prime the fuel system. If needed it can be used for a reserve back up pump.
  2. He falls for every Robo caller thats got a female voice and bought the home break down package.
  3. I'm with you DieselFuture...... there is so much bullshit .... no originality anymore. I like the old ways myself and will always enjoy taking it easy down a country mountain road watching the road and using my own abilities so they always stay sharp, keeping my own sense of direction and memory of the map.
  4. Mopar1973Man, Why are there there 3 threads started on your 'Coolant Leak' Boss?
  5. Key position should be at the top when removing the VP. Then set new and old VP's next to each other and turn the shaft on the new pump to match as close as possible with your eye to the one removed. Make sure new pump has a tight fitting key and won't fall. Even though you pulled the VP with the key on the top the pump gear will be floating in the gear case and flop a little bit when pulling the VP moving the key away from a true 90 degree. thats why you match them side by side on the bench to make it easier to go back in. Put a little dab of white paint on the key to be able to see line up when installing. I used regular white out from the office. If key falls out make sure key is put back in with the arrow on top pointed the right way.
  6. That a good was a good sign if she got embarrassed. That would be the truck. The sound alone always got my attention....... every dog gone time I'd hear/ see a Muncie 4 spd chevelle I was kicking myself for not having the money for one.
  7. I loved the seats in them too. used to support you just right even on rough roads. Mine was a 79 4x4 with a six cylinder and three on the tree. I lifted it two inches and put Hurst shifter thru the floor. It was a fun truck. Metallic forest green.
  8. When first bought my truck and brought it home from the dealer I wouldn't drive it anywhere till I got the fuel pressure gauge. These trucks can afford a long sweet spot without any troubles if you set them up right and use two stroke. Yes it has been tested to be effective in a fuel lubricity test.... up near the top for some of the better additives.
  9. I would get a fuel pressure gauge ASAP. I have an aftermarket Raptor lift pump I had to change. Got to a point where I had to turn up the fuel pressure about every 5,000 miles. I kept having to adjust it back up to 19 at idle only to find it going down too close to the 14 mark again hauling up hills. I have the fuel pressure gauge to tell me if I'm starving the VP. If you starve it enough, it will usually get the 0216 error code, bad timing piston in the injection pump. You need that fuel pressure gauge with the needle shut off valve as soon as you can and feed heavy doses of 2 stroke oil. American fuel has too low amount of lubricity for these older injection pumps.
  10. Nice truck! Best lines Chevy ever put on a truck. I bought one brand new in 78 for $5750. He he...... those days are gone.
  11. Yeah, they should call them pumps 'woodpecker pumps' cause they so noisy .
  12. You are nice guy to point that out for me. I don't know what type wood peckers I think they like to peck on loud items to attract a mate. The louder the more attraction I'm guessing. Aren't AirDod and Raptor the same electric motors? Just adapted to different style pumps? Thats what I've always thought anyway. I could be wrong.
  13. W-T told me few things concerning this.... The Air Dog Raptor electric motors are extremely noisy in their ability to emit A/C ripple/ RF noise. He says the Relay needs to be grounded to the firewall or mounted to sheet metal grounding. I think he prefers power be taken off the batteries. Another point made was to ground the electric motor housing in some way. As per telehpone conversation

Glad your joining in. Welcome from Oregon. I loved my first gen truck a lot had her for almost 21 years. I actually prefer the second gens since I found a nice Laramie for my work truck. A huge upgrade, I just don't like having no warning when a unit front bearing goes is all.
  15. Wait for the next recession Nick... there will be a huge glut of used trailers and rvs on the market by then. RV sales dropped over 11 % from June To July alone.

My first few sips......Ahhh wonderful.... got to pull a big stump today. Will take most the day, but will allow for making the driveway much nicer. Yesterday we got the last of two loads of logs down off the plateau ready for trucking to the saw mill. Some of the trees felled were over 100 yrs old.

Nothin like fresh ground and perked first thing in the morning. Makes you a real sharp shooter
  18. Nice looking truck. Did they change something on the side body style? I looks better than the other recent years before. Like its more streamline not so bulky looking

Dripley, we don't have that kind around here.... we have wood peckers, they are real polite..... They wait till you had your first cup and then start hammerin'. Hate it when they peck my aluminum ladder though. It's real loud.
  20. Usually a flickering is a bad connection where a wire will be shaking all the time. The constant shaking of any wire can cause it to eventually break its connection. I would have the fogs on and start working from underneath moving the wires around a bit till you find it. keep moving around to other wiring involved till you can make it flicker yourself. I've even found bulb sockets to be corroded and had to clean them. I use dialectric grease of any bulb socket dealing with the weather outside.
  21. Even though the drivers side kick panel ground looks clean I sanded mine anyway and removed the factory chrome coating and my headlights got brighter from just doing that.
  22. Thank you 015point9, hadn't thought of that.
  23. Disconnect your grid heaters that's what burned mine when I had a twelve valve. Just have to dig in that rubber connector deeper to get enough wire to get butt connector on. As for the fuel shut off solenoid look up a local fuel injection rebuilder. They have those in stock. They put those on new when they rebuild out injection pumps.
  24. My neighbors folks passed away and the siblings sold the home. They are giving away an old 70's Winnebago motorhome. It sat for at least 25 years and used to be well cared for until they got too old. It's amazing how well built they were back then, but my question is if there is anything worth salvaging that I should take off before it gets towed away? I could take the whole thing If I wanted.
