  1. Mike you live out where folks are still good folks. Everyone I met there was wonderful, but you don't see the horrible things people are doing in the cities and in highly congested areas. I can only wonder, how much more this generation needs to make them turn to God. Anyway I'm not Franklin Graham.... I can only speak of what I see and read about around me.
  2. In the publication Beyond Today, july-August 2018 an article, ''Whats Behind The War On God'', talks about how we are on a downward spiral affecting almost every aspect around us, giving historical data about this trend. It is a very good read and you realize how truthful it is about What is happening. Billy Grahams' son Franklin Graham at a recent speech in Bend, Oregon is saying the same things. This article will teach you what is really happening right now and like I said, is backed up with historical data. We all need to really really pray everyone. We need Gods' blessing so bad and I notice people behaving worse all the time... need God in their hearts. Like the drought they need Gods love, mercy and truth back into their hearts.
  3. I understand your point and appreciate it. It just that my Spicer hubs on my 92 Dodge were almost nearly neglected and ran without problems for the 20 and a half years I owned it for a work truck. I had them repacked only once early in its ownership and that was it, but checked each year after. It was an amazing truck. I guess maybe those days are gone. At this point I need to rethink how to properly zirk the unit bearings. I like the way Dieselfuture describes doing that. I think he eats nuts/ bolts for breakfast. lol
  4. Okay I'll send you mine after I get the Dynatracs Oops, this is Sunday, I forgot.
  5. Dripley will want that for his 5th wheel.
  6. Don't get in a hurry, wait till someone else confirms your ECM is out, which I'm hoping others will chime in and confirm. Do you have the lift pump wire harness and relay that powers the L/P off the battery controlled by the ECM? Want to make sure the Ecm is protected before you go putting on another is all.
  7. Are you running stock size fuel lines? Most on this forum like to see 19 psi at idle and no more than 4 psi drop on acceleration. This important to keep the fuel pressure above 14 all times.. You also need to start running 2 stroke oil in the fuel to get fuel score values within Bosch specs for the injection pump life. Otherwise its in slow death mode. Go to the article section to see which ECM rebuilders are recommended by other members.
  8. Welcome to the forum. Just a few thoughts.... 15psi at idle probably isn't enough when running down the road. Especially true if your still on the stock fuel system. Most all of us have Half in fuel lines with a fuel pressure gauge and aftermarket lift pump to hold above 14 even under heavy uphill loads. One tell tale sign of a bad ECM is if the wait to start light acts up. Most all of us on the forum has installed the aftermarket lift pump with the wire harness that lets the ECM only trigger the power to the lift pump. Running the lift pump off the Ecm is hard on it and damaging in the long run. You want the power coming off the batteries in which the ECM activates the relay connecting/ getting power off batteries. Sorry about being repetative. Others here are very helpful on how to set up your truck properly for the long haul and will chime in. Please do feel free to ask all the newbie questions. We like to help around here. Oh yes, there is loads to learn in the article data base and will help enormously. and put a few drops of oil on the battery connections after you clean them, but you probably need to check/ clean engine grounds and everything you can.
  9. Thanks Mopar1973Man, my ABS lite finally went out when I ran it today. The exhaust tail piece rusted off of the muffler and melted one of the airbag air feed supply tubes. I got that fixed, rerouted it away from exhaust and exhaust is temporarily held until I can get to the muffler shop . I guess the only gain is better bearings that are easier to change and keep greased. IBMobile are those bed pans? Good way to save money for a new truck.
  10. For an old guy with those puney speakers mounted in the rear of a new flat screen TV, I wish I could get my old box tv back from goodwill. I can't tell what they are saying half the time. My old tv had big stereo speakers on either side. It was nice. About Dynatrac Hubs...... Having done more searching... a more realistic savings for installing the Dynatrac hubs is your gaining about a half mile per gallon which puts the break even point for the cost at around 16,000 miles. I no longer trust the unit bearings on my truck used for long hauls. So going with those in the future. Anyone know how to dump the ABS system on an 02 without the dash light coming on?
  11. O'Reilly is less in your part of the world cause people are moving into my area like wild banshees.
  12. Dynatrac and some other threads say you'll get a 2 mile per gallon increase. Dripley your right its more like around 20 cents a mile fuel cost. still quite a savings when just 9500 miles will pay for the Dynatrac hubs.
  13. Nick, that's too long to go without a truck. Please get checked out by the Doc... make sure your okay. Lol I think IBMobile might have a picture of a guy that went a too long without his truck..
  14. O'Reillys sells you enough for the whole neighborhood for 18 bucks. They say if you don't use them all by the time they expire they will reimburse the unused portion. Yes they have an expiration date on them and they test for the additives and freeze point in the anifreeze besides just Ph levels.
  15. I'm right there with you greed on the mileage for my 02 and thats the one that went. I had the caliper scraping on the wheel squirrling down the road. Dripley pucker factor is putting it mildly...... more like something we often talk about during woodstove season that shrank a couple a inches. Lol Okay, now lets say the average second gen owners going to run an average of 200 K miles before he sells his truck. With a 25 cent per mile saving with Dynatrac Manual locking hubs..... I gotta say, that's money in the bank not to mention getting a better price on trade in or when you sell. Correct me if I'm wrong..... it's alot of money those hubs would save you.
  16. One of mine fried the other night at 99,000 miles. Without warning I almost lost control hauling the truck camper. Other threads I read while doing a search, most experienced failure around 100k. and was the conscensus with the ones I read. Add the fact the bearing cages are made of plastic prompted me to question them.
  17. Thanks greed. Not to change the subject....Just a thought..... if the dynatrac hubs are about 1900 bucks, it would only take around 8,000 miles at typical .25 cents a mile to pay for themselves. Then you have the benefit of grease able and better bearings that are readily available.. Seems like a real savings in the long run. Are they easy to put on yourself though?
  18. What type of grease are you using?
  19. Wacky Sudden out of control truck and camper on the freeway the other night, was a front hub bearing. It threw me into the fast lane, scared the hell out of me and finally got it off the road in a very squirrilly fashion . $340 towing bill and spent the night in Les Schwab for morning repairs. At least I had a place to sleep. I got repaired before noon and got home but the ABS lite is still on... pain. My question is has anyone figured out a way to lube those factory hub/ bearings? I heard they last an average of 100,000 but longer if you lube them by removing the ABS bolt and squirt grease down in there? They can be a pain getting them off too unless you lube the mating surface before bolting up. Anyhow just to start a discussion.... I like the Dynatrac locking hub option for another thought
  20. Your Alternator is throwing out too much AC volts noise is usually the case. Additionally, there is a wiring mode to reduce that AC ripple to less than half when done. Sorry I can't post a link to the two articles you need ..... one is testing for AC ripple at the alternator...... and the other is W-Ts' grounding mods. Both have helped a lot of truck owners around here. Welcome to the forum BTW.
  21. That so bad. anyone follow the trail left by the fire bug. I hope they catch them whoever it was. Can't wait for summer to be over with the smoke and the record heat, record number of fires.
  22. up in the national forest I turned up a road to find a place to park and sleep for the nite. They stick a road closure sign almost a mile in where you can't find a place to turn around without a half mile of backing up in the dark. One side steep enough to roll the truck off the road. Really smart! Why can't they simply put a road closed sign down near the highway?
  23. Not to change the subject........Are you concerned about a mudslide? I think your soil is very sandy and lets water soak in rapidly.
  24. Wow! Amazed. Are most trees still alive I hope? It just seems there is less and less any real weather, like we used to get. I hope I'm wrong. How is MoparMom?
  25. Eric at Vulcan is a good guy. I have been to his place 4 times over the years and all I can say is what a great person he is to deal with. Has the smartest systems and set ups out of all IMHO.
