No tach. Rough down shift
Hey Mopar1973Man, in a situation like this could it be a problem in the main electrical supply as a common denominator causing all these error codes to show at one time? I'm thinking bad lift pump, for example, placing an excess load on the electrical system. I cannot see all these parts going bad or going out at the same time and thats tipping my thoughts. Markw, don't throw any more parts at it till we get a chance to get you on the right track. A lot of people know a lot more than I do around here so all I can say is check all your body grounds and positive connections. Clean everything engine grounds, battery posts/clamps. sand any terminals nice and clean. Test the level of A C noise emitted by the alternator. You need a good Fluke volt meter to do that. Check the ground under the drivers side battery, that one's known to corrode. Also read all the articles under second gen engine electrical grounds etc. There is one on how to easily test for the A C volts noise or ripple. Question....1) is your lift pump powered by the factory lift pump connection or connector coming off of the ECM? ....2) .What lift pump are you running?

Roof Issues Anyone?????
Good deal. I hope they did a proper job this time. Put a camera up on the roof, if you can and take it up to 65 and see what it looks like up top. I would right a way.

Ground Reference VP44,ECM,PCM,PDC plus TC lock/unlock
A little bit off topic, real quick..... do I have to remove the starter to get to the ground behind it? And do you have to remove the Driver side battery to get to the ground underneath there also?

Alternator AC noise explain in detail
This is getting an education and a privilege to read. Thank you

Ground Reference VP44,ECM,PCM,PDC plus TC lock/unlock
I only did the rest of the mods like, your asking, to both my second gens. The results were very close to the same on both...... cut the A/C ripple to a little less than half what it was. Very happy this old guy got both done.

Is that why all yer feathers are missing? I think IBMobile has a picture of you after fireworks one night.- New Tire Size found 235's to 245's
with the weight of that camper My 16's are the best thing. Those are Alcoa wheels BTW.... the strongest 16 inch wheel available. IBMobile, I've tried to post some of our pics at camp with this new computer. Need to get the wife to help with that.- HAPPY FIREWORKS
My bad neighbor is gone, no one there most of the time. It's cool that way. They do have a built in pool that was real nice when his mom owned the place. Since she died they've let it turn into green slime and Blackberries almost overtaken across the pool. What a shame. Sometimes I think about puttin' somthin' in there to make it smell real good since its far from my place. lol, but I can't bring myself to do such a terrible thing.- HAPPY FIREWORKS
I got one of those too. Sending mortar I think they are called right over my woods on my property. Then takes his AR and shoots off as fast as he can, many as he can. He shoots it the other way into the hill. but its to be obnoxious more than anything. He has enjoyed annoying all the neighbors for years.- Poor gas mileage
95% of the regular participants with 24 valve second gens in this forum run the two stroke in their fuel. Somewhere there is an article or download about laboratory tests done with American fuel. Results show It is to low of lubricity and too high of cylinder wall scoring. It does not even meet Bosch specs for the injection pump on the VP44. So one qt. of TCW3 per fill up with ea tank is good as the test results show. No diesel clean.... makes scoring values even higher. This forum is a very good, has helped so much, it is very educational, a good place to have coffee with every morning. and will save you this- Poor gas mileage
Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? If so, what are your pressures showing? Put two stroke oil in that fuel before you damage that new VP. The ULSD does not meet Bosch specs for lubricity on the injection pump. Make sure all intake boots aren't leaking and running a clean air filter, not a K&N filter.. Check the turbo for free spin turning by hand. No rubbing or rough spots or excess bearing play.- The Future of Trucks
What could a guy do to keep the Cummins sound?- Hello from the Gem State
Welcome to the forum. Thats a nice truck, worth keeping.- HAPPY FIREWORKS
Is MoparMom going too? We have more people around here with fireworks so have to stay and keep a watchful eye on my woods. Neighbors are gone too and are heavily wooded. I'll have to be my own fire Dept. down this end of the road- The Future of Trucks
I do not like electric cars/ trucks. Almost hit twice in a grocery parking lot by people that were cutting through and make no sound to warn me. Keep in mind it was clear before crossing. We had one lady at my wifes office with a new one. By the time she got close to work she didn't have enough power to use the wipers in the rain. I don't think they much of a solution to anything since it greater reliance on nuclear power and lethal waste.- HAPPY FIREWORKS
Happy Fourth everyone... remember the family, the beer and Bar-B-Que. Daniel don't be aiming that rocket launcher at my house this year OK?.- Raptor Fuel Pump
I would like to rebuild a Raptor with new bearings and O ring(s). I bet it would be a good lift pump then. I'm not having any trouble with Raptor on both my trucks. The RP100 is showing signs of weakness (run for about 60K) and they gave me a new RP150 w/o any trouble since at the same time buying another 150 for my second truck. So they are cool to me.- ecm ground
I just noticed an area called downloads at top of page. Might be under that instead of in the articles section.- What is the "BEST" engine oil & filter to use and why?
And girlfriends with coconut oil- How to test fan clutch?
There is always some resistance even when cold on a properly operating fan. You want to look for bearing play also. That's all I know about them at this point.- What is the "BEST" engine oil & filter to use and why?
with every sip of coffee its a totally new view.... except my coffee like diesel fuel. And IBMobiles even better... like 90 wt.- What is the "BEST" engine oil & filter to use and why?
in trying to find a common denominator in types of shoes worn by those who never check their oil..... I would say Mr Nelson has to wear those, also without socks, only because his girlfriend rubs coconut oil on those. Thereby reminding him each time to check his engine oil level.- Raptor Fuel Pump
What I know they give me a lifetime warranty on my AirDog Raptor lift pumps on two trucks. I've never heard of just a 4 year limit warranty like that. Any power mods and you should upgrade to the Raptor 150. It won't need to work so hard on it.- AC compressor
So are you saying you put on a non A/C length serpentine to get you by for now? That's cool you caught that before any problems on the road. Looks like just in the nick of time. No pun intended Nick as I know how long it taking for your new truck . - HAPPY FIREWORKS
