  1. Would love to Boss. Anyone that loves our secret spot is good folks, good enough to go visit... eat all the food. I'm going to make it down there this new year........ I have had an absolute horrid time with this 6 mo. long Job. Never so many problems in my life, every step of the way.... .I will always listen to my gut from now on. Anyway there is some talk about Michael Nelson and MoparMom going down with us and on to Utah afterward. Maybe a meet and greet is in the wind..
  2. Call a pole building builder too there Angus It will be better value to the property in the long run and some are surprisingly competitive/ cheap.
  3. Oh goody! Can I get over there and help gobble it down? Happy New year IB
  4. Saw them in Banff Canada (Canadian Rockies) the first time I was old enough to go into a Bar. Came out of the bar and the whole town was looking upward at the Northern Lights. They were cruising across the entire sky from horizon to horizon. Everyone said that was very unusual. Ended up every summer I would head up to those mountains with my back pack and thumb out coming from the lower 48. Man I had fun in those days.
  5. I hear ya Mitch, looks like very attractive pricing but probably does not include the slab you need, then what about overhead doors and ventilation? Man that thing gest pistol hot in there in the summer without the right openings. Just looking out for you is all Forgot.... the 17-18 a sq. ft. is with a contractor doing the work.
  6. I suppose those all metal buildings would be good if the cost savings was significant. I also understand a person without construction skills would want something easy to assemble. Keep in mind a new pole building is somewhere around 17-18 bucks a square foot without the concrete slab and allows to go with just gravel floor till you get the cash for concrete. You can insulate a pole building easier plus you get overhangs and an easier way to add on a carport for shade in summer. Just my 2 cents doesn't always make sense.
  7. I don't know anything about them, their cost or anything, but you would not see me building one as I need a storage loft and a straight higher wall for windows to go the right level. It's like 25 % of the room is missing with the curved wall tops. A regular pole building is the way to go since you would have more room for stairs to go up to the loft along the wall and for storing taller things or higher shelving.
  8. Happy New Year... Looking forward to a much better year. Toughest job is almost over in 2 weeks. How about you?
  9. How many miles are on it? I know a guy that bought a brand new truck that is having worse problems. BTW, I spent 4 grand after buying my other 2nd gen truck only 30,000 miles with no problems I invested in it's my future making it bullet proof. Still way less than a new truck and better still.
  10. Yes listen to Michael. I've been driving my truck for 20 yrs come this October with minor problems just like yours off and on throughout it's use. Stay away from dealers is the main thing and you begin to get some smarts on simple repairs and fixes. My old 1st gen has saved me at least $100,000 Bucks not buying other trucks to replace it. If you stick with it.... it will give you back with an unbelievable experience of long term trouble free use.
  11. Amazing things occurring around the globe. History shows many bad sides to this ol' world but most of my colleges, friends, biz associates seem to agree things seem to be getting more problematic, harder, more difficult what was in essence a simple pleasant task only just a few years ago.
  12. Michael, please provide a link as I cannot get it on my set. Thank you
  13. Mines cold smoked ever since I've owned it, for19 yrs been running every work day since October 1996. This on my 1st gen 92 truck My 24 valve does it too.
  14. Do you just measure the distance between the wheels then and adjust accordingly.
  15. Just a shot in the dark here but, when I get that type of sound I spray oil on the idler pulley and goes away. How about the water pump? However, I once changed out my idler pulley to a new one and still had the sound like you describe then put some soap on the serpentine belt and it went away. Another time I did need a new water pump. I've experienced these things after having my 12 valve for 19 years and my 2002 24 valve for 8 yrs. Over 400 k miles combined
  16. When Diesel hides in the blanket you know it's at least 40 outside
  17. Dave Ripley, I don't have any information on those. I'm just repeating what the owner down at Source automotive told me about the better USA made Spicers. They do BJ's all the time and would have to guess that this has been their experience with them. I would call them for a line on getting them. Source Automotive 503 654-9004. Rip Rook is his name. Rip is his nick name and Rook is his real last name. I used his dad many years ago for legal advice, a very good attorney back in the day.
  18. Mine had 29,000 on them when I bought the truck they were tight. So to be honest with you guys, the added 35,000 miles was mostly carrying a fully loaded truck camper around 3400 lbs fully loaded. But still seems premature to only last 64 k miles for oems on the 2002. Source auto told me Spicer has met market demands by making two grades; affordable ones made in China and then the expensive USA made which last longer. They put in the USA made for me $1400 bucks w new tie rod ends and so far they are holding with no play in them.
  19. I think about the actual manufacturer. Wonder who they really are as all the brand label companies can subcontract to the different forges to be made. Then wonder who actually specifies the better metallurgical alloy. Dave, my oems only lasted 65 k miles.
  20. Wow that camper is very straight for its vintage. Nice set up and welcome to the family.
  21. Other thought...... if the BJ's are really good then you worry about the bj socket or cup wearing. This makes me think about getting the greasable ones.
  22. So is it the heat treatment or the alloy mixture that makes them better ball joints? I imagine some are just mild steel. Is there Any thoughts about bringing the new ones to a forge and have them treated/ change the metalurgey? I don't know.... someone might understand this process to make them good BJ's.
  23. I got two new jeans, two new long johns, the good stuff and two new shirts. Everything came in pairs. My eldest uncle sent a great honey ham and everyone came with loads of food. Yes, congrads on the 18th anniversary that's cool.
  24. Getting old at 48... he he...just a young pup really there Lance. Nice of you to join us. If you think your old, that means is its time to start a new project on something you always wanted. In a couple weeks hard work, wanting it........ you will find that your young and strong all over again.
  25. Give 'em a pat for me... he's cool dog. Highway looks like our 26, on the way to work last week. We are officially getting a winter.
