  1. Me two A Guy on antiques roadshow brought IN an early 1860 Henry and they valued itover $200,000
  2. Thank you. No, that is not the area I ran around on my bike all the time then.
  3. CSM, I like Audie Murphy's biography, he could shoot from the hip, without taking time to aim and hit a running rabbit. Will look into getting a copy of Elmer Keith........ Did you say you are near Ben Lomen (sp.)? I wore out a motorcycle runnin' all over that area back in the 60's
  4. Good wisdom there. Me Personally, I'm going to use the 22 for practice/ enjoyment. The second you pick up a Henry there is just something about it. CSM, love to have a cowboy shoot match.
  5. Somethings wrong when I get so easily excited about a Henry. Beautiful.... Your lucky to have that. Mine is the 22 mag Golden Boy.
  6. I'll take care of 'em with my octagon barrel Henry. Love that rifle.
  7. Then you might get carbon credits for long idle times.
  8. Nice Taz. I'm really into flat beds (nice set up) and how useful they are. Welcome
  9. The Boss in heaven might just give a real blessing of a winter... 'Thank you Boss, please show us who's really in charge down here'.
  10. Thanks Mopar Mom I've been working up on the mountain and live on high ground also. Biggest problem is the saturated ground at the base of some big trees. Blocked the main highway (26) two times and now tonight Beavercreek road about 3 miles from home. Prayers from us that you don't get the guest house saturated again.
  11. Soon as you get the wet suit on it you'll get a blizzard. Don't you know that's how it works?
  12. I've been running thru the road dept. defrost liquid they spray on the roads. Should I park over a sprinkle for awhile? I've never run over that stuff till lately?
  13. Keep the faith, maybe snows will come with a vengeance around the 15th. That's when we see most snow in Gov't Camp Oregon. Right now it's just been rain at the 4,000 foot level where we are working.
  14. Finally got a way to see this gal. I want her to run for President......... has it down like non I've heard God Bless her.
  15. I'm encouraged..... do you usually get winter in full swing by around Dec. 15th or so?
  16. Rose and Michael, are you guys getting a good snow storm right now? We have a bit of stormy weather which I notice is heading your way
  17. Sounds good. I can get creative and use leather hide or something. My first gen has Hides covering the seat. I bought them when you could still afford nice cow hides with the brands showing. Tough stuff.
  18. Don't want that one CSM, I think it's an awkward reach in that spot. I don't mind the factory one as long as I can keep it working. Is it the folding support brace or the main hinge pin that breaks?
  19. What is the weak part or what is it that commonly breaks on the 98 thru 2002 tip down style dash cup holders? Appreciate any thoughts on what you did to repair it also. Thanks in advance
  20. I'm thankful for people like MoparMom. With her wonderful perspective and wit, most of all she insisted we get milkshakes.
  21. I don't know what's wrong or if things are the way it's supposed to be. I know the world and U.S. news is getting worse in general but what I mean is it seems like everyone's personal lives are kind of going unhappy or there's something affecting all of us lately that is hard to pin point. I'm just not sure what it is but it's like fun and happiness something anyways seems to be diminishing everywhere. Am I the only one that sees this or is it just me? I just don't know for sure except things are different somehow. What do all you guys think and feel inside about things these days?
  22. I have to admit getting out the wrenches can be real satisfying when you get it fixed. Avoiding the dealership or expense of a mechanic with a 3 foot long bill is just icing on the cake. This just happened with my JD 455 when the alternator froze up and burnt the fan belt. I took apart the alternator and changed out a bearing. (new alt is almost $400) Lucky it was not the bearing needing a press to get it out, it was the one nearest the pulley that froze up. It took a couple tries to get the right part and the design required dropping the driveshaft to install a new belt. I was afraid of getting something wrong, but didn't give up and am happy to report she runs real smooth now. That bearing must have been bad for a long time since I was not used to it running so smoothly now.
  23. I think the most important thing when it comes to a time like this, when the harder you try putting out fires, the more it grows.... singes eyebrows.... is to remember.... God knows everything. When I think of that I just roll/ go with the punches because there are good times just around the corner.
  24. So can I leave the hand pump in/ on it if I have a cap on the end of the pump? Update; took the hand pump back to the farm store. It had rust in the draw pipe and the threading on the pipe required you use Teflon tape to make the piping snug because there where no tapered threads. The couplings would bottom out all the way. It was bad especially since I did not want Teflon fragments in my engine oil. So I made a barrel rack, placing the drum on its side and using a water spigot. This turned out to be the best option as the drum had a 3/4 inch fitting for a spigot. Only I really used a 3/4'' ball valve instead of the water faucet. Works nice. Thanks all
  25. Thank you, it's getting delivered today. Think its best to not set it directly on the cold concrete. Isolate it with plywood.
