  1. I'm like you Mike........I wish I was near Russ and wifey!!!!! Geez, I don't know anyone from that area either!!!!:confused2: I've got a retired couple behind me, and I help them out whenever possible...........be it cutting some tree limbs down for them or giving them some veggies from my garden. And yes, I do till, plant, weed, harvest and store a fair bit of my own produce!!! Along with all the wild game that I bag!!!!
  2. Y'all need to rethink what you've posted here in this thread. For me, in my truck, the No.1 tool I carry, is myself and a weapon (you know what I mean) of some sort. Enough said!!!:2cents:
  3. Here's a picture of my truck and work trailer........from a couple years ago. Most of my pictures are of the rear of the truck with my dog and our hunting exploits!!!!:thumbsup:You can see the chrome of the bumper and the white just above that. It's that void just above the license plate. Between the tow hooks, the radiator is right there.
  4. Last Saturday while I was at my retriever clubs upland training day, I saw a part on a Dodge gasser that I thought I could modify slightly to help block off more of the front of the truck. This part goes in the opening below the front bumper step pad and the chrome bumper itself. It's black plastic that fits into the opening where my tow hooks are at. Between the tow hooks on my truck there is a wide open area to the radiator. Even with my home made winter front, there is still a big opening in the front of my truck. The truck that had this on didn't have tow hooks, but I thought I might be able to cut holes around the hooks to mount this in there. I looked in the manual, but couldn't find the part name or a picture of it. It would be about 4 feet wide and 4-5 inches high with a concave shape. Ideas. For you 2nd gen guys, the area I'm talking about would be in the OEM fog light area on your trucks. If you look at a 3rd gen truck you'll see where I'm talking.......I hope!!!
  5. Might need that here by me today!!! It's snowing like a __________ (insert your own colorful metaphor)!!!! The weather liars are calling for about 10-12" today, tonite and early tomorrow!!:hyper: Not working today, because I don't want to be out towing my work trailer with all the crazies out there in the snow!!!!:woot::wow:
  6. Are you 100% sure you didn't have a brake dragging??? Were you "getting on it" to make the clutch slip???If you truly need a clutch, I've also got the SB Con OFE. It's the real deal. It's not made to do boosted launches, it's more designed for the hardcore towing guys.......like myself. It's night and day better than the stocker. Probably run around $750 give or take, not including install.
  7. My best guess is that's it's a combo of "winter fuel" and "bio blended fuel". I go to KY regularly and just like here at home, y'all have bio-blended diesel sold at many of your stations. My mileage is down from last winter. I think they're upping the bio in the fuels sold around me. All that said, it has been real cold the last 2 weeks though and that doesn't help either!!:smart:Remember also that along with the above; the fluids in your engine, diffs, tranny, and transfer case are thicker and flow less easily in colder weather. It takes more energy/fuel to overcome/heat it up. Also, in the winter time, the outside air is denser and slightly harder for your truck to push through. Not much but it's measurable.
  8. Check this this out!!!http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,213971.0/topicseen..html
  9. Realization: My dog Spud sleeps about 20 hours a day. He has His food prepared for Him. He can eat whenever He wants, 24/7/365. His meals are provided at no cost to Him. He visits the Dr. once a year for His checkup, and again during the year if any medical needs arise. For this He pays nothing, and nothing is required of Him. He lives in a nice neighborhood in a house that is much larger than He needs, but He is not required to do any upkeep. If He makes a mess, someone else cleans it up. He has His choice of luxurious places to sleep. He receives these accommodations free. He is living like a King, and has absolutely no expenses whatsoever. All of His costs are picked up by other who go out and earn a living every day. I was just thinking about all this, and suddenly it hit me like a ton of bricks, my dog is a Democrat!

  12. I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy!!!
  13. They'd better be able to take a lot more PSI than that!!! The CR's can see 20,000 PSI regularly and a max of around 26-27,000 PSI.

  18. LiveOak, the link I thought I put in my post didn't show up. It's http://www.bobistheoilguy.com. The containers of 2 stroke and 15W 40 dino oil I have from WallyWorld have a WPP on the bottom of the bottles. The refiner is irrelenvent IMHO. It's who is "blending" and "packaging" and "distributing" the oil that's more important. Unless the refiner is doing all of the above!!!! Which is true in some cases, but not all. The info I have says that the oil supplied to WallyWorld is from those in my prior post.
  19. The info I have is that all the SuperTech synthetic and synthetic blend oils for WallyWorld are made by Warren Petroleum Products. Their SuperTech dino is made by 3 different companies probably depending on where in the country you are. This info provided by http://www.bobistheoilguy.com
  20. Mr. LiveOak..........see the post above yours. Your info is correct, but incomplete. At least that's my humble opinion based on my research!!!!:thumbsup:
  21. There is something to be said about fuel quality also...........however, I agree with you 126.43%!!! The best I've gotten in my 04.5 on extended trip was 21.2mpg running 65mph. Coming back from North Dakota in Nov. '08, with 3 guys, 2 dogs and pheasant hunting gear in my truck; I got 20.2mpg running 75-80mph. Both of these trips there was very light winds. The NoDak trip got me thinking though. My truck was "loaded" pretty good coming back. Probably 9000lbs+ GVW. However, I think that made the truck sit lower and actually "cut" the air better. That's my theory anyhow..........go ahead and cut it up!!!!
  22. :agree::agree::agree: There have been a lot of '03's on the various forums for about the past year with the same symptoms as yours. In the end, after replacing the cheap parts first, it winds up truly being the injectors. They just wear out. Think about have many times that solenoid has to fire with the multiple injection events. Some of the new injectors have stainless bodies and lighter weight pintles and harder seats so they "theoretically" last longer!!!
  23. Just my truck and my boat!!
  24. When you're getting as much as I am, the reason us "old guys" look at porn on the internet is to improve our technique!!!!:thanks: Like Toby Keith says......."I ain't as good as I once was; but I'm as good once as I ever was!":thankyou:
