Spring runoff...
Hey, it's nothing personal................farmers are great folks.............just mostly "nearsighted"!!! If you can tell me with a straight face if the stuff you spray, spread, broadcast, inject, knife etc. into and onto the ground is good for anything but the crops you're growing..............I'll gladly say I'm an idiot. I've worked at fertilizer plants, farms etc.........where I wouldn't drink the water from the wells because of the run off!!! I threw the ball back, so go try it again.

MoparMom says its paraprosdokian time???
Don't confuse people with facts, when their mind is already made up.If you have a "hot water heater"; why are you heating hot water??

Is FPPF Cetane boost any good?
IMHO, the only time you should need a "cetane improver" is in very, very cold climates. Maybe.........a big maybe on that also. Higher cetane theoretically improves/increases the fuels ability/tendency to spontaneous combust under certain conditions. I've never used one. More important in very, very cold climates is an additive that will lower the "pour point" of your fuel so it doesn't gell in your fuel lines and fuel filter canister.30 degrees is not cold either!!!!!!!!! That's for you "Rebels"!!!!!!!

Spring runoff...
Sound like a typical farmer around here............don't do anything unless there's $$$$ INVOLVED!!!!! Farmers are "THE" biggest polluters on the planet now.........if you want to "TRULY" look into FACTS!!!Mike.......he's probably waiting for it to back up onto his property,,,,,,,flood it,,,,,,, and then petition the government to pay him for it!!!!!! Why does this surprise you???!!!!

Todays Wood
That's just what I got in only 2 trips..............not even full pickup bed loads. I didn't take the dog crates or the platform they're on out of my truck for this wood. Best of all, I didn't have to us my chainsaw.............and an even bigger bonus is that it's only about 1.5 miles driving distance from my house!!!Going back tomorrow. With my chainsaw. Got a light day work wise.......so I should be able to "go to town" scrounging wood!!! It must be the "Neanderthal" in me.................bucking wood, hauling, stacking.............testosterone rush............something the Bamster wants to eliminate..........or at least have white people do it for him.

Todays Wood
Here's what a "scrounged" today.I went on a "beer run" yesterday, and on my way back I saw the boys cutting wood at this one house in my neighborhood. I stopped by and asked about the wood...............the home owner said I could have as much as I wanted!!!! The pix are just what was cut that would fit in my future stove. I didn't have to use my saw at all!!!!! I'm going back tomorrow PM and cut a bunch of stuff that was left long. A lot of wood there left!!! Here you go!!

Question About Mikes Wood
I hear you, Mike!! I know you burn mostly "soft wood" being as where you're at. I guess from you description, I scrounged mostly "women wood" today!!!!!! Around my parts........especially in my neighborhood, it's mostly volunteer ash and maple...........and a whole bunch of 75+year old oak trees!!! I scrounged up another 1/2face from where I've been getting wood down my street: twas all small stuff mostly. But that spot is about dead now............I don't want to deal with the twigs in the canopy part of the tree to get the rest of the 2-4inch logs. It's "technically" in the "median" anyhow!!!! Granted, it's free game in the median........but with all the small twigs and such..........the rest won't be worth the time IMHO!!! Thanks!!

Question About Mikes Wood
We have all seen your pix of your mega-loads of firewood. We never see any small stuff. I was wondering how "small" you go as far as wood for your stove goes. I've been keeping everything 2" in diameter and over................just because I want to have "dry" wood for next winter.Just curious!!!Thanks.

ALERT! Called out on SAR's
Glad to hear you're home safe as well as the "hiker"!! When I first read this post; I had the strangest thought, has ISX posted in a while...............

Kudos.......Whitney Houston
While I was reading your above post, the strangest thing happened................I could swear I was hearing violins in the distance!!!! Get over it!! In case you didn't know, I'm as pure as the "wind driven snow"!!!!! Besides: it all boils down to this one little factoid.................You, and you alone, are responsible for what goes into your body!!!!! Plain and simple!!!! Was anyone forcing them to swallow the crap down their gullet, or holding them down injecting crap into their veins, or forcing them to inhale??????? I think not. They did it willingly and with forethought. You can pillory me all you want; but the fact is this, they did it do themselves.............and you're essentially trying to make me feel guilty for it. Sure, I admire and love their work, but.........after that, there's nothing. In the words of Forrest Gump................"Stupid is, as stupid does." Lemme guess...........Grateful Dead roadie????

Priceless!!!!!
I got that same picture in an e-mail about a month ago from my cousin. Spot on IMHO!!!!Wouldn't surprise me in the least if that fine young lad winds up dead somewhere in the near future!!!!! Not arguing, just saying!!! Sad but true IMHO!!

Christmas In March
Hex and Rogain........................The make of the stove is Englander...........model is 13NC..........the NC meaning non-catalytic.It's a basic style stove............and I got a deal on it..........just under $800 free shipping to the trucking depot. Picked it up in my work trailer yesterday and it was a tight fit to get her in there. Only an inch on each side to slide her in. The forklift guy was really handy!!! Anyhow; I've been reading like crazy about stoves/brands/etc. This brand kept getting mentioned for nice price, great performance, great support from the manufacturer, etc. The money I saved on the stove alone will pay for the hearth and chimney I need to install yet. I couldn't see spending $2000-2500 on a stove alone..............they were pretty and well built..........but come on!!!

Dorkweeds Wood.............................PG
This is gonna be my first venture into wood burning stoves. I'm actually looking for wood (such as ash) that dries and seasons quickly, so I can use it next winter. The stove I bought is Non-Catalytic, but the newer stoves require very dry wood to function properly and not create a soot monster for a chimney fire..................hence the want/need for quick drying wood. I've read on Hearth.com that oak takes about 2 if not 3 years to "season".........where the moisture is under 20%.

2 Stroke and the Common Rail
Thanks for the plug Michael; but I surely didn't "start" the 2 stroke thing at all. I first read about it on another forum as a substitute for PS+MMO as an additive.............that I was using at the time!!!!! Pretty scary what we know now..........right!!???? All I did was post a thread on a so-called forum...............loosely worded..............and it took off. Even though the powers that be on that site tried to kill it........numerous times!!! The truth is fine as long as it doesn't contradict your advertisers!!! How many VP's, CP3's, injectors and engines have been blow up from those "groupies" that hang there???
