  1. And the quadzilla zillaraider you have there, honestly that's the first I've heard of one. Not saying they're good or bad, I've only heard of the quad adrenaline and the xzt. @dieselautopower may be able to help with that when needed.
  2. @daav544, before we go putting another tuner on her how about we try to sort the problem first. Since you did the ground mod have you checked for a/c noise? There is an article explaining how to do so. You said you have 50hp injectors so she should run fine with no tuner. I run 100hp sticks on stock tune no problem. Do you have a scanner? One that will give you live data? If so, you could try driving down the road at a steady speed to recreate the issue and take note of engine load, if your on flat ground, climbing a grade and so on. If you hit a small hill obviously the engine load will change. If this is happening on flat ground for no reason then we need to figure out why timing is changing when not needed. You also stated that it has a new H.O. vp44 pump. Who installed the pump? There could be something there. Maybe wrong key when installed? Someone with more vp44 install experience can chime in on that part. Just thinking it through trying to help.
  3. The large wire on the bottom of the alternator is the charge lead, that should go to your 150a breaker or fuse then to the passenger side battery. The wire from the fuse panel to the alternator is tour field lead. That goes back into the loom going across the front of the engine. No cutting for that one
  4. I believe the ratio for the 2 cycle oil to fuel is 1oz oil per gallon of fuel. That's what I've been doing for a couple years now. Also, did the map sensor connections clean up good? You stated that it had green corrosion in the plug. You may want to replace the plug or sensor to be sure of a good connection. The w-t mode shouldn't take more than a couple hours under the hood and we'll worth the effort. Read the w-t ground mod simplified article by @Mopar1973Man, it gives you the meat and potatoes of the process.
  5. Back to the w-t mid for a sec, there is a good write or two on how to do it in the articles section. I to want a quad adrenaline someday, I'm in the same boat, the money just isn't available right now but it is definitely on my list of must haves in the future.
  6. I don't know if the a/c noise is the issue here but I can't stress enough (I'm sure @Mopar1973Man agrees) how important the w-t ground mod is to these trucks. Both manual trans and automatics benifit. More so the automatics I believe. Just my $.02
  7. Looks better! Is the primer you used an etching primer for bare metal? Just curious. I need to do some of the same to my truck. My trouble spots are the rockers, bottoms of the doors and cab corners.
  8. Wow that stands out! If you miss that your blind
  9. @hayman75, are the new cable a larger gauge? The look pretty big. Set up looks good though, I like the military style battery terminals. I'll most likely reuse my cables, they're in decent shape. Thanks for the pic. @rejracer, sorry you had such bad luck with alternators. I've never heard of someone going through so many in that amount of time. Wow
  10. I don't understand the tuning as much as I'd like. Following this for informational purposes.
  11. Glad to hear your doing well!
  12. Appreciate it @Lund1990, was hoping for someone closer. I'm in N.W. Ohio.
  13. Pics or it didn't happen......lol I'd like to see how she looks with the military terminals and new cables. This is on my to do list down the road.
  14. Yes, we are getting closer and closer to riding season. Time to start thinking about what needs to be done to get the bike or bikes back out and on the road. My Harley won't take much. Need to pull the battery, charge/test and reinstall. Do my normal checks and adjustments and so on. This year I am thinking about getting the old Honda Gold Wing back out for at least a few good rides. By that I mean more than just around the block a few times. I need to get her out and stretch her legs a bit. I have been neglecting her since I bought the Harley in 2013. It's a good old bike, all original (save for the seat and sissy bar) and a decent runner. Just lost interest once I bought the Wide Glide. The Honda will need a bit more attention. An oil change is a must, checking tires, brakes and clutch adjustment. Possibly change the timing belts as well, been about 15 years since last changed. And of course they will both need cleaned and detailed to look their best. I'm looking forward to getting some seat time on both of them this year. I may catch a bit of crap from friends about riding the Honda again but I appreciate the old stuff and think it's cool just having old iron on the road regardless of its origins. The Honda is a 1977 model GL1000 (Gold Wing) and its just fun to ride and it does actually get some attention from those that know what it is.
  15. Glad to hear all went well! Seems your meeting alot of supportive people on your journey, that's very good. It's nice to hear a story with a positive tone for a change. Seems these days the world is just packed with negativity everywhere you turn. Gets depressing at times.
  16. The economy is hindering everyone. I have my truck and a list of wants and needs for her but can't seem to find the time or money. I'd really like to get started on rust repair soon before it gets out if hand. There are also mechanical upgrades I like to make for longevity. The price of just living is cutting into everything.
  17. While your into all the wiring, if you have not yet done the w-t ground mod it would be a good time.
  18. I did, I just grabbed the pin that it latches to and backed it out some til it latched. It's threaded in there so easy fix.
  19. I think we're nearing the end of our cold weather around here. Not sure I would know if it worked if I did borrow a smarty.
  20. I've been thinking about one for a while. They were priced close to $50 for a long time. I didn't feel this piece of plastic was worth that much. Here lately they have been coming down quite a bit, when I saw it for $21 and change I figured I'd give it a try.
  21. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BKRMZ691?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share This is a link to the same one I bought. I believe they're all probably pretty comparable. Hope the link works.
  22. Well @Tractormanyour in luck. I had to run to the store for smokes so I got to drive it. I even purchased a bottle of root beer to place in it to check for interference. AND....I even took some pics for you. So far the only thing i really noticed is that my right thigh will reast against the extended cupholder. Not a big deal, i can get used to that. Other than that little thing i like it. I do have to say though, if you try to place tour cell phone in the little slot closest to you, that dont work. The phone gets in the way. anyway, heres some pics. 2nd gear 4th gear Reverse And 2nd with a pop bottle in the tray 4th gear And reverse I don't know why the 1st pic flipped upside down. As you can see it really does not get in the way of shifting a manual trans. Possibly if I had my 32oz coffee cup but we shall see. For the $22 spent, it is well worth it so far.
  23. @kbf98520, no I don't have a tuner.....yet. eventually I'd like to invest in a quad adrenaline but they don't come cheap. @Tractorman, that's a nice little setup. I may consider just doing something like that. I like that it helps a/c in the summer as well.
  24. They wanted to charge 1 hour labor at $150/hour
