  1. With pecans and chunks of caramel! Glad she's rollin', Mike!
  2. Okay, my first MPG "report."This is going off of the odometer. (I don't have a GPS)~10.45 MPG.311 miles on ~29.75 gallons. A lot of 10 minute warm-ups, and driving a couple miles here and there, through pastures, etc, towing about 5K - 7K pounds. . . Only about 80 town/highway miles were driven with no load. . .I need a BHAF, and straight pipe. I haven't even done that yet. :doh:NV4500, 3.55's, 215/85/16 road tires. . .
  3. :cheerleader: (BTW, first time I've ever seen the burnout smiley. I love it! )
  4. ???? Can you explain why? Just a correction, Mike put down 380 HP with the Edge by itself; he did not have the RV's yet.
  5. I got mine for $95 at Cummins. New one one the left (1 1/16") old one on the right. (1 1/4")
  6. Next step is install a fuel pressure gauge. Then you will know if you need a better lift pump or not.
  7. Any OBD II code scanner will work.
  8. More whistle. And that's dyno proven.
  9. I've heard that sumps don't completely solve 1/4 tank, or 1/8 tank issues. . . A draw straw that is installed correctly can be better than a sump. The absolute best way to solve low fuel issues, is the Liberty Module from Vulcan. But then again, it's not the cheapest solution either.
  10. Yessir, I can try. I would like to get some better pictures, and I'd need some time to get all the words put together where it'll make sense. PM me, and let me know what all I'll need to do, as far as getting it to you, or uploading it, etc. . .
  11. http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/59-obdii-error-codes/228-p1689-no-communication-between-ecm-and-vp44 Do you have a stock lift pump? If so, I would look into a FASS or Assassin lift pump. That's not terrible fuel pressure though. . .
  12. Good idea. I'm going to order a Timbo soon. A lot of the members here (including Mike) use Timbo APPS. The stock replacement is gonna run you about 4 bills at the parts house. And the dealer sells you the whole bell crank assembly. Mike also has a write up on how to install the Timbo.
  13. I was going to recommend the Super B with a set of 7x.009 sticks. But since you have the exhaust brake, you might just need to stick with the HX35.
  14. That sucks, Mike!!! :banghead:Where you gonna get another? Used? New? Upgrade!?!
  15. F'n smart car batteries are probably more "harmful to the environment" than anything a diesel emits. . . I actually don't give a rat's arse about air pollution. The EPA needs to be completely wiped out. I don't worry about a hole in the ozone, or global warming/cooling, or needing to make our air cleaner, because people are going to breath it for the next billion years - I trust God's plan, and God knows what He's doing.
  16. When you do need a new APPS: http://www.dodgecumminsapps.com/
  17. You're probably getting P0121 or P0122, which is the APPS.I'll randomly get a a CEL (P0121) and dead pedal while driving down the road, and it sounds just like your problem. . .A reliable fuel pressure gauge is still the best diagnostic tool in this situation.
  18. The Assassin is a mean billet, trash eaten machine! An inline filter would help, but it's not necessary. The only problem you might have, is junk getting in the regulator, and sometimes it will cause a pressure drop. But you just unscrew it, take it apart and rinse the junk out. DTT is now making an 80 micron filter that goes before the tee. (see picture #2) - - - Updated - - - Forgot I made this: Click the picture ^ It's not the prettiest setup, it's kinda afro-engineered if ya ask me, but it's the best I could do, and it works!
  19. Did you order the plumbing kit w/ the pump? I did, and here's how I set mine up: From the draw straw, run your line straight to the Assassin. (completely replacing the stock pickup line) (pickup line is the one on the top right, and it came straight from the DS) Then coming out of the pump, you run the line right back through where your pickup line came through. (watch out for moving steering components, so route your lines carefully) The line going into the tee is the one coming out of the Assassin, feeding the VP44. (there's a chrome AN fitting that replaces the banjo bolt on the stock pickup line on top of the fuel filter housing) On the back of the tee is the regulator. Here's a picture from the bottom: Now, your draw straw has 3 ports on it. 1 for pickup, 1 for stock return, (VP44 and injectors) and 1 for Assassin return. There is a tee up by the head that connects the VP44 return, and injector return. It's that way from the factory. What I did is cut that return line below that stock tee, and I clamped a piece of 3/8" fuel line just below that tee. That line, which is collecting VP and injector return, takes that fuel into my own tee that I got from the hardware store, and I put that tee here, on the frame rail: So I have my Assassin return (coming from the regulator) running straight through my tee. And the VP return comes into the side of my tee, and it all runs back into one port on the DS. In the kit, there should be a little threaded plug, with an allen head - that is to plug the 3rd port on the DS. Sorry for the lack of detail, I was in a hurry. If you have any questions, ask away. I'll try to get some more info later. . . EDIT: I forgot to include that I still used my stock return line. About 1 foot behind my tee, I cut the stock return, and slipped the 3/8" fuel line over that, and clamped it. Then, I cut off the quick-connect on the end of the return line, and went back to 3/8" fuel line so I could connect it to the push loc on the DS.
  20. Just depends on how much money you want to spend, and how much HP you want.Do you tow, sled pull, race, or DD?
  21. Yep, that was good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHF4D0MVL7E
  22. Must be the fresh mountain air. . .
  23. I paid about $90 at Cummins for a sender.
