  1. All that greenery in the background makes me sick :sick:Trees are still dormant here
  2. The Advanced Auto Parts here sells it by the gallon. Sounds like you need it by the drum though sir! - - - Updated - - - How much is the Super Tech per gallon?
  3. Can I ask what its going to cost you in parts?
  4. The only way it works with the Ford parts is by using the Ford spindles, basically everything from balljoints out is Ford parts. I dont know the years off hand, but you should be able to source all the axle parts from a salvage yard.
  5. How anybody could ever harm innocent children is beyond me. Thats just heartbreaking. My condolences to your wife, Hex.
  6. If you were in virginia you might see it hauling a 4 sale sign on the back of it
  7. The only real option you have if sticking with all Dodge parts is swapping complete axles out, and even then Im not sure if the mounts are in the same location because the later model axles are narrower. Aside from the axle shafts being shorter, the spindles mount differently at the ball joints. The parts between the two are just not interchangeable, unfortunately. Alot of people do the Ford outers swap, I think theres a write up on it out there somewhere, maybe on Pirate 4x4? Ford used the same ball joint configuration so its as easy as swapping the Ford spindle and hub assembly which will give you slip on rotors and manual lock out hubs. The calipers they use are also alot better than the single piston crap Dodge uses. I would like to do the conversion myself someday.
  8. Other than the idle were there any other indications? Fuel in oil, smokier than usual, etc?
  9. Looks like a completely different truck!
  10. Hmmm, ummm I was talkin about the shipping part not installing If it took me several days to install a set of mirrors I need my shade tree degree stripped from me
  11. that was fast! It took several days to get mine in
  12. What are you 3rd gen guys running for coolant? I just bought an 08 Mountaineer Premier and it is about due for a coolant flush. I've been roaming around on some different forums and for the most part everybody recomends sticking to the HOAT due to compatibility issues.
  13. Are you adjusting it properly? It should have been set at around 14 Psi from the factory IIRC. To adjust the pressure you simply loosen the smaller nut (5/8 maybe? I can't remember off hand I haven't adjusted mine since the day I installed it) and then turn the screw in to decrease the pressure. If that's not doing anything, you may want to put a call into where ever you ordered it from and let them know. 23 Psi is a little on the high side for the VP it is possible to blow the seal out on the shaft and leak fuel into the gear case.I have only had my Raptor for a little over a year now but so far it has been good. It has the capabilities of maintaining good fuel pressure with my Smarty and 40 horse injectors, the only down fall is I would like additional filtration. I was in a pinch last year when I bought it I had just shelled out some bones for a new VP and a furnace for the house. If I could have afforded the 100 with twin filters I would have went that route but such is life. Ive wondered if one could retro fit a raptor to the twin filter housing of the 100, they appear to be very similar...
  14. I just changed uppers and lowers on my 98.5 About 6 weeks ago. After I removed the hub, caliper and rotor, I broke the nuts loose on both ball joints and cut the ball joints with a grinder and a cut off wheel. I cut them right where the protective boots are, and had the spindle removed in a matter of minutes. At that point a couple of smacks with a bfh will dislodge the studs remaining in the axle on the truck. Then I took my spindles to a 25 ton press and pressed them out, cleaned the spindle up and pressed the new ones back in. You have to get a little creative with finding the right sized adapter to push the joints with, I used an 1 1/4" pipe coupling. Sockets would probably work too. It required a little over 6 tons of hydraulic pressure to break some of my ball joints loose, I couldnt imagine trying it with a ball joint press I dont think they would have budged.
  15. How deep is the water that they cant find the boat? Were they using sonar or any type of tracking device to try to locate it before diving?
  16. Ive heard some good things from a hotshot driver who runs his trucks loaded and hard from egr, although I dont have any personal experience. Im running ebc slotted rotors and the reccommended pads, big improvement over the 2 sets of oem style rotors I trashed on my 00. They are a simple yet very functional, more than just a feel good part to throw on. Guys with manual transmissions and or exhaust brakes scoff at them but the automatic crowd needs every little bit we can get to help out. IMO the brakes on these trucks are substantially under sized, especially the earlier trucks with single piston calipers and rear drum brakes. http://www.egrbrakes.com/index-main.htm
  17. If bolting it in place of the carter pump on the side of the block, they should send you the fittings and neccessary lines to hook everything up. It will tie into the line coming from the tank just like , and the outlet will have a section of hose that you will cut to length to tie into the filter canister. Very straight forward install.
  18. How frequently does the truck stall when going into gear? I have not heard of a fuel system issue causing that before? Unless your lift pump pressure is way low when that happens.... Almost sounds like a tight TC
  19. Rick have you checked the auto parts stores for a filler neck? The only other place I can think of is a junk yard, or the dealer. I think the bed looks great, your going to gain alot of uses that you were limited to before. Personally I couldnt own a flatbed, I put my camper shell on 3 or 4 times a year for road trips. Like next weekend were taking off for West Virginia to go fourwheeling. Im going to throw my shell on in the next few days so I can throw my tool boxes, spare parts, spare tires, fuel and some firewood. Ive got a lock on the tail gate and on the camper so it will at least keep an honest thief out. plus everythings out of the weather. Not too mention with a box I can just throw misc stuff in the bed without worrying about it rolling off the truck or having to strap everything down. Its all a matter of preference and personal needs really.
  20. check this out Rick http://www.elektro.com/~charlie/mirrors/ I may have mis led you a little, i was going by memory of a friend who did the install. After my earlier post, i started 2nd guessing myself on whether he installed power heated or just power mirrors. Hopefully this helps a little
  21. I got the set that CSM linked above and like em so far. (big improvement with traiker on)The plug should be the same, as far as I know they all come pre wired from the factory.
  22. If you still have the factory sticker under the hood it should also tell you what gears you have
