  1. I like the idea of removing the plug & +BAT wire from the back of the alternator. The charge wire can act as an antenna & transfer the AC noise through inductance. Ed
  2. I would suggest still greasing all connections just for insurance. Ed
  3. http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/26-engine-systems/460-yankneck696 You can swap the front gear cover & cam gear. Ed
  4. ECT is just used for extending the 6 cylinder high idle & allowing it to stay on until it is turned off. It fools the engine into thinking it's still cold. I think that if the Scangauge is reading correctly, there is a different issue. Ed
  5. Could it be that the coolant is 140 degrees? Ed
  6. http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/charging_at_high_and_low_temperatures Ed
  7. Which is reading 140? IAT or ECT? I have never heard of that happening. Ed
  8. Holy multipost.... Ed
  9. I use a set of 6 double sided "Water heater element" style sockets for all sensors. They are cheap & will fit most sensors. You can get them at HD/ Lowes, hardware store or Harbor freight/Northern Hydraulic. Ed
  10. I'll send out my dial indicator if you need. That way, you can check at the pushrod end for any differences. Ed
  11. Sounds like he is getting classic "Dead Pedal", which can be the APPS, or the VP44. Bluechip's website does have a great diagnostic procedure for it. Ed
  12. Yes, the DRB3 can reprogram them. Ed
  13. I have a VP44 apart & personally, I think it will be impossible to properly replace the MOSFETS. The plastic casing, which holds them down is riveted to the base. Also, how to remove the silicone goo that's covering everything? Surely, you cannot get a good solder joint with it in theere. Ed
  14. Well? Inquiring minds want to know. Did it take the old man to install it right? LOL Ed
  15. It is doubtful that anything on the pressure side of the fuel system would allow an air leakage. Ed
  16. The ECU uses the software that is enabled by the DRB3 or Smarty to give you 6 or 3 cylinder high idle Ed.
  17. The water temp fooler is to keep the 6 cylinder high idle going continuously. Please PM me about your issue & I will take care of it. THank you, Ed
  18. I put a 33X12.50" tire mounted on a rim with plywood on it right near the drivers tire & reach in while standing on it. Ed
  19. Both compression & leakdown were within specs. Ed
  20. Yeah, it can be a bear, even for normal sized hands. Ed
  21. If the issue is still there after the pump install, I am leaning towards a valve train issue. Let me know & I will ship out the dial indicator. Also, it may suck, but you may want to pull all of hte pushrods & check them to be straight. Ed
  22. Wind chill numbers should not affect the gelling point of fuel. Only the actual temperature. No matter the windspeed, the ambient temp stays the same. Time for another pump. It should net at all affect the adjustment range of the regulator. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_chill Ed
  23. If you are still reading the proper readings you are very lucky !!!! Ed
  24. I have looked into relocating the PSG computer with a spare pump. It would be very difficult, to say the least. Ed
