Tires
My bad. I just meant the ST tires that we stock and sell are biased tires. I forget that radial ST's are out there. Just curious, do you know what the speed rating is on those?

Tires
Just a side note to keep in mind, if people are running the tires over weight, the running gear on the trailer (axles, hubs, bearings, etc) are more than likely also overweight. If the trailer is set up properly, the weight capacity of the tires should always be higher than the full capacity of the trailer. Out of all the trailer tires I have sold, it has come out to about 50/50 between under-inflation and excessive speeds. I dont think either issue is more common than the other one. If someone wants to be running upwards of 65-70 mph with their trailer, at the very least they need to be running radial tires that are rated for the correct weight. ST trailer tires are still a biased ply tire. Not good for high speeds. This is just based on my personal sales experience in light trailer parts.

MY time has come!
Hex, iirc the wheel bearing check is by grabbing the top and bottom of the tire and rocking in and out. The steering component check is by grabbing the tire and rocking side to side. If there is any play you will feel it. (in either the wheel bearing check or the steering check)

3rd gen front breaks on 2nd gen
So just to understand this better, all you had to do was change the mounting brackets? New rotors and pads of course, but you were able to reuse the stock calipers?

Frame off restoration
I think all the tan and black would look really cool with a dark green. Pretty outdoorsy anyway. Should be a neat project!! I think if I were ever to rebuild my truck I would be converting it into a full crew cab. I saw one a couple years back and it was to cool!!

1800 to 2200 miss hesitate or shudder
Have you tried removing the Edge completely to see if the issue goes away? Does it smoke at all? If so, what color smoke? Any trouble codes stored in the computer?

A few codes to ponder on
Big shout out to Edge. Just got off the phone with them and they said send the comp in. They will fix it at no charge to me. Very good people to work with.

Sweet Dreams Sweetheart...see you in the spring :)
I need to get me a container or trailer of some kind. They are the perfect size for just about everything!

Used Edge EZ - Surged, no throttle response, then stalled out
Now that is quite the deal!! I would be nabbing that up right quick if I were you.

Fuel Prices
Just paid $3.63 for diesel in Missoula last night. Gas is hovering about 1 dollar less per gallon as always. I do all my grocery shopping at Safeway so as to get the fuel rewards. I know not everyone has the chance to that though. Every $100 spent at safeway, you get $.10 off per gallon up to like 25 gallons. The limit is $1.00 off per gallon and I usually don't need to fill up until I reach that point anyway. It is quite nice to fill the truck up for under $3.00 a gallon!!

Hello from Colorado
Welcome from western Montana! I get down to the CO Springs area about once a year. My sister in law is stationed with the Army there.

Used Edge EZ - Surged, no throttle response, then stalled out
That is the nice thing about Edge. At least in my experience they don't care where you got the module. They will take care of it for you. My comp came with the truck when I bought it and I had to send it back a couple years ago. As long as it still had the serial number on the module they will service it for ya. No warranty card or anything. There is the $200 fee for rebuild or replace, whatever it requires though. birchy, you might give them a call, I think when I sent mine in they covered shipping both ways. It may be different from Canada though.

weird leak
When it got really cold last year the same thing happened to me. Pushed out a fair amount of power steering fluid. Just topped it back up when the temp warmed up a bit. It didn't do this until it dipped below -30 though. was kind of weird.

Used Edge EZ - Surged, no throttle response, then stalled out
I just had the boost fooler die in my Comp box. It would only give me about 1/2 throttle because basically the ECM couldn't see anything from the MAP sensor. Edge has a flat rate of $200 to fix or replace the module, no matter what the issue is.

AFE Bladerunner turbo ?
Ya I haven't really heard much good come from AFE products. I have the 3 piece exhaust manifold but it came on the truck when I bought it. As far as I can see their stuff is way over priced for what you get.

How much play?
I was doing the wheel bearings on my old Ford pickup. Had a dana 60 rear axle. The Ford service manual told me to pack the bearings in the axle too. I thought it was kind of weird so I didnt, but just to back up lcattin I have also seen service manuals specify packing the rear axle bearings.

gauge kit
As long as they are Isspro branded gauges, it shouldnt matter where you purchase them. I would lean toward all mechanical gauges when you do go to purchase them. Generally people have less problems with them not to mention they are a bit cheaper than the electrics.

12 Fuel psi idle 0 wot - Help
Just hook it up to power for a couple of seconds. If it runs, you will know. If you hook it up and nothing happens, shes no good. You can do it with a couple of jumper wires hooked to the battery pretty easily. Note: Dont let it run to long like that though. With no fuel going through it, there isnt anything to lubricate it and it can wear out prematurely.

One last thing to do! (flatbed) BRAKE CONTROLLER
It will be nice to stop when you want to!! Let me know how the p3 works out for ya. I have sold a few of the P3's but was never able to get back with the customers to see how they liked them. I was not aware that some of the trucks didn't come with the plug and play system! Good to know.

Best roll on bed liner?
I did the herculiner roll on stuff when I did my rockers. Stuff seems to hold up pretty well. Just make sure you ruff up the bars a little bit with a scotchbrite pad or something first. Helps the liner stick a lot better.

AirDog 150 in cold weather
That would explain why my pressure would go down in the cold with my Raptor last year. Even running straight #1 it would drop about 4-5 psi in the cold. I really only had the problem when it was colder than -20 though. (which was every single night for 2 months!!!)

Dealer says high idle won't work because of remote starter/alarm
Ya the stealership flat told me it wont work on the manuals too. I even printed out and brought in the TSB paperwork and he laughed at me and said he doesn't know what moron wrote that up. Same guy tried telling me that the PCM and ECM on these trucks is the same unit!!!

One last thing to do! (flatbed) BRAKE CONTROLLER
It will look like the big white plug in the pictures. This is actually the plug and play harness for our trucks. Most all brake controllers now days will be able to plug and play on the truck with this set up. Pretty much any controller made by tekonsha will be great. We sell a ton of them and hardly ever have issues. I have the P2 myself. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=tekonsha+3020&FORM=HDRSC2

One last thing to do! (flatbed) BRAKE CONTROLLER
If the truck came factory with a tow package there should be a factory plug up under the dash. It will be a 4 wire rectangular plug. You will be able to get a plug and play set up for the controller. If not, then you just need power, ground, brake light switch input, and the wire heading to the back of the truck.

Torque App for 24v Cummins custom PID's
I have never seen anyone else use the torque app for the cummins. I used it a ton when I had a droid smart phone. Since I switched over to the Iphone I haven't been able to find a suitable replacement for that app. Anyone with an Iphone found a good app for OBDII yet? If you could get the app working with the cummins it would be outstanding for anyone with a droid powered phone I think.
