  1. Is there a bushing or something that can wear out on the shift linkage? I am just trying to think of what moving parts are inside the column. Something with the tilt maybe? You could pull the black plastic covers off the column and drive it for a little while. Might be able to pin point the noise better that way.
  2. You could take that truck hoist and build a platform to go into the reciever hitch maybe? Then just take it off when not in use. I guess I dont know how heavy it is or how easy to move around though.
  3. They have been building them mills like crazy in central WA state over that last couple of years. I knew a gentleman that owned some of the property they were built on. He had 3 windmills on his property and the government is paying him a healthy $2500 monthly per mill for rights to his land. He quit his day job!!
  4. I thought that was proven as a myth?? I was curious one day about it, added about 5ft of wire to my probe and it didn't change my readings at all on the gauge. Still hit the same EGT's in the same spot of the same road. As long as you aren't using wire that is way to small for the application I think you will be ok.
  5. It's to bad you could rig something up to run all three off of one probe... That would make life a whole lot easier.
  6. I wonder what the difference would be on another truck that is not tuned quite as well as yours John. Say, a truck that has a bit to much fuel, or even not enough fuel. Just curious. I even wonder what a totally stock truck would run pre and post...
  7. Have you checked the return line going to the back of the head? It is a pain to get to but there are a couple of sealing washers on a banjo fitting back there that are very common to fail. Even on the return system, if there is a leak it will cause problems starting. Also, I have seen the drain valve on the stock filter canister not sealing all the way and causing a small leak down over time. Geno's garage has a replacement drain valve that works very nicely.
  8. The other thing that seems to take stuff off pretty good is gasoline. Not sure how harmful it is to the paint but it takes off tar, sap, whatever you want. The one drawback is, you smell like gas for a few days but it works really well.
  9. How does everyone feel about Luber Finer filters? It is one of the filter brands that I haven't heard anything about. Quality? Where they stand concerning other brands such as Fleetgaurd or Donaldson? What I do know is they are owned by the Fram corporation, but that doesn't necessarily mean that Fram makes them. Thoughts?
  10. Russ brings up a good point. What about a small utility trailer with 1-2 100lb tanks in it that just stay on the trailer all the time? Whenever you need gas, just hook up to the trailer and away you go. What I don't know is what the transportation laws are for that sort of thing. Can the average Joe transport that much propane on a trailer?
  11. Any idea what the truck makes for mileage without that trailer behind it? Could definitely be the trailer axles out of alignment or even the bushings and stuff worn out. Great buy on the trailer and flatbed though! They appear to be very decently built products. As for mounting, it seems like I have seen a lot of flatbeds mounted down to the frame with wooden beams in between. I don't know if that is an old way of doing it or the normal way. Use the pressure treated wood to get the bed set to whatever height you want and it also keeps it isolated from the frame of the truck.
  12. The one thing to keep in mind is watch the offset. The bolt pattern may be the same but if the offset is different you may have a problem with the wheels contacting the brakes or sticking out to far from the car.
  13. Another vibration issue I have seen before are bad shocks. Does the vibration just get worse the faster you go? Or does it stop vibrating at a certain speed? Say it vibrates from 55 to 65 then goes away. If that is the case it could be worn out shocks.
  14. That is what I though it was but it will do it on a completely full tank just the same as an almost empty one. Also, I don't think I have a straw problem because I have run down to less than 2 gallons left in the tank. I figured that if I did have an issue in there I wouldn't be able to run the tank almost dry like that. Just kind of weird I think. Side note, I am running my mechanical gauge directly with a needle valve tapped into the line right before the VP. No snubber or isolator.
  15. I have noticed that my ISSPRO mechanical gauge will do the same exact thing. Most of the time I can relate the bob to a bump in the road that I had hit. Like you said, it is a fluid motion and will come right back up after a split second. I am also running a raptor 100. Mine is about a year and 6 months old. Not sure but I think it must be one of the earlier models. Otherwise I would have had problems with it by now.
  16. It definitely does sound like one of those to-good-to-be-true situations. There must be something wrong with his. If he is really serious, maybe you can take a look deeper into his truck or run it by a shop? I just don't know if I would be comfortable trading my truck like that unless I new the exact history of the truck I would be getting. Just my opinions of course.
  17. Ya I haven't seen the chicken man around for a long while.. What the heck??
  18. I say X2 on the puke bottle check. I would think that is the front crank seal was leaking, or even the timing cover, it would probably leak a lot more when running that when not. The oil is flowing and moving around when the engine is running a lot more than when off.
  19. The propane shortage got so bad up in the Grand Forks area last year that the suppliers were going around and buying back the propane from the customers that could spare it. And they were buying it back at almost twice what they sold it for!! It was crazy!!
  20. Having decent straps makes a world of difference. I am slowly replacing all of my straps with decent 2in wide straps or 1in wide as long as they are rated for at least 1000 lbs. Ancra makes some really decent straps and are very easy for me to get being as they are a vender for the company I work for.
  21. Our trees have yet to change but like Mike we are seeing temps down to the low to mid 40's at night. I don't mind that though. Makes for a cooler day.
  22. Holy cow!! $69 for those little fender clips? You could buy like 10 boxes at auto zone for that much. I never go to the dealer for parts anymore for this reason. I don't know how they can stay in business charging like this.
  23. I agree. Stealth plate is much cleaner and no more broken wires too. Not to mention, it keeps everything sealed up nicely. Even if you do get a good wire tap, you still will always run the issue of corrosion and breaking the wires over time. Like said before, that wire is not replaceable. Just have to solder it if you want a decent fix.
  24. Man, you just cant win with this thing!! Hope things start going better for ya.
  25. I am interested in how these perform. Most of the time, it seems that if the injectors aren't true bosch most people don't have very good luck with them. As far as the RV275's go anyway.
