  1. and you leave the cardboard in?
  2. dorkweed, where did you get your bypass filter?
  3. i have heard that before....where is your probe at?(i mean where on the manifold did you drill and tap?)
  4. i did my lowers and uppers on both sides...with a name like "problem solver" it's hard to feel bad....i have a write up coming, but it is for 2wd front end
  5. i had been say'n the samething....and christmas eve.....we're hammered like none i have seen in the 24 years living in OK
  6. that was our hi for the WEEK here in the OK
  7. if i have heard one person say "ULSD stinks" or "it smells different"......than i've heard 10 people say it...since i have NO experience with it...i thought i'd ask.
  8. i have also heard that from a bunch of people...but of coarse that's after i bought the 99....i think even a TV show said if you wanted to run SVO than get a ppumped cummins(well they said dodge...)
  9. if i remember....or suppose to measure how much the tire sticks-out(offset?) in stock form. thats what you have to match....if the rim/tire is bigger, the rest needs to be behind the hubs(backspacing). my humvee rims have something like 7" backspacing....to much in front(without spacers)....on the back....they set in more than the stock by an inch... to much offset on the rear puts more stress on the axle bearing, so i have heard:smart: hope that is clear....the holiday nog is strong:cheers:
  10. i have to hand it to you....i think you see problems a little different than i do....... i don't have any crediable info one way or another.....some say the equal lengths will help spool up. some say you lose to much heat to the tube.... i don't know at all, but those look BAD!:shades: do you have access to a dino?
  11. that is a sick looking header!
  12. i didn't have diesel until 08. but i don't think dodge or cummins designed my motor with ULSD in mind. bosch knows that poor fuel kills pumps. but did LSD smell different and sound different or is this the nostalgia of yesteryear?
  13. the frantz filter has been around for a long time. all filters are paper.....but not all paper is the same....tp may not be good enough(or the same as filter media). i don't know....
  14. just curious(and not being an ***). how did you know that? i don't even know what those are. lol
  15. i think i may do the frantz filter...but not completely sold on it.
  16. thats what it is like here. oklahoma city got 10-14 inchs...we don't get snow like this!
  17. safety first :smart:my brother was lifting the back so i could inspect the drums.he looked over to me and said, "its getting really tough". of coarse, i called him a puss and told him to lift my truck. the next thing i know the jack breaks and he ended up punching the asphalt. i never seen him so mad at me! but the jack said gm goodwrench 2.25 ton
  18. merry christmas everyone!
  19. i have hispeed cable. i run xp sp2, no autoupdates(or update period),no virus scanner, no software firewall(windows firewall disabled), and i have no problems. between keeping good policies on the router and windows group policies...as a home user, i need nothing else. because my computer is old i do not waste resources and start up time on thing that are not needed. if i had a quad core,8 gigs of ram, and a 4 terabyte raid, the sky's the limit. but smart practices beat software any day!
  20. without it, people always know when i arrive at their houses. one coworker said he thought i was UPS or a school bus. with it....everyone says "i didn't hear you pull up".
  21. i think lmc truck has it for $400.
  22. a truly inspiring speech!:cheers:i wonder if his audience really wants the the "founding principles" or 2008 status quo?
  23. i do not like to think that Bosch designed the VP-44 to fail early...i think research and development wanted fully electronic injection. but i believe in an effort to meet new emission standards, they rushed to create a pump that would meet emissions while other injection strategies were finalized and made into production. but this is all speculation... for a fact they know that bad fuel kills pumps. i have heard people say the the CRD is even more picky. so it would lead one to believe that either our fuel once had been better quality than it is now, or the mechanical pumps aren't as picky. being a diesel novice i can only guess and speculate.
