  1. Hi there I have spent more hours than I care to admit researching how to disable my truck's fuel system?? so I can do some testing of my starter without it actually starting. I have a 2006 Ram 3500 diesel and my year has a very simple tipm with, in my opinion, very few fuses and there are no relays in there as there seems to be in other years. For some reason my owners manual did not even contain the pages showing the fuses and what they are for, however, I believe I have finally found the correct info in that regard. From what I've read I could pull the starter relay or a fuel related relay and that would allow me to crank without starting. The problem is I do…

    Ok.. Semi strange question. I purchased a smarty tuner from a gentleman that had his truck totaled. He said he had it unlocked prior to the truck being taken away by the insurance. When I plugged it in it says it's Vin locked. I contacted him and he apologized and said he must've done it wrong, but has the ECU and can send it to me along with the plug (I assume the harness) and I can just power it up and then put it back to "stock tune" which will unlock the smarty. Is this doable? Is the harness going to have the obd2 plug on it, and will powering it up even be a possibility? Thank you in advance for any help!!

  3. First thing I noticed was that my OH computer started to tell me the outdoor temp was 130 degrees F. Now every time I check its 130 degrees F. Then a little while later it started to reset the ave mpg every time the truck started. So every time I start the truck the ave mpg reported is 0. However, as you drive it appears to be working to calculate the ave mpg but it now starts at zero. The miles driven are being reported the same as the odometer. Any one have any similar experience?     Hey guys, When I got my truck I didn't get any remote for the door locks. Yes, it is supposed to have a couple. My question is besides a dealership os there anywhere else I can get one programmed? I know a dealership will have the DRB III to get into the computer, but who else?

    A friend of mine is the second owner of a 2007 Cummins 2500 truck, 4x4, auto transmission, - all stock parts. He purchased the truck in January of 2013 with 104,000 miles on the odometer. The odometer currently reads 205,000 miles. A tuner has been disconnected from the engine for troubleshooting purposes. Until recently, the truck has started and ran well. I am trying to assist him to diagnose the following problem. In early December, he notified me that the truck started to run very poorly just as he was arriving home. I've been working a long time on this one and finally got my pxrb pacbrake installed and my custom tuning sorted out enough for the ecm to reliably run my exhaust brake on my 2005 5.9 Cummins auto with a 48RE. It works the same way as the 2006-2007 model years do with a 48RE transmission. Hit the switch and the truck will activate the exhaust brake at idle for warmup to 182 degrees. On decelerating the brake activates down to about 50ish in 4th and then downshifts to 3rd, relocks and pacbrake comes back on. If you need more you can manually downshift to 2nd and it will give you the exhaust brake down to about 15mph. Overall pretty great mod so far, very happy with it…

O k fellows i have a 2005 170.000 miles transmission works fine but thinking of pre maintance we travel construction i pull 16.000 lb rv worry about breaking down on the road i no there several places to get a trans but I'm concerned about a warranty . also thought about upgrade vb and tc and drive it or just drive it. So if a person does what i do to make a living thoughts on best thing to do with it i drive the truck little bit but pull rv couple times a year located now in raleigh nc

    2006 Ram CTD 4x4 with 48RE, 167,xxx miles. Brought it home with a blown #4 injector line. I know it would pull on the gooseneck with a lot of throttle, and reverse seemed alright, but didn't drive it much. Fixed the fuel line, and on to the trans. Park would hang so bad we thought we would break the column shifter. Previous owner installed Derale pan. Dropped pan, found glittery fluid, pulled valve body, installed Georend bullet detent kit. Reinstalled valve body, and filled with new ATF4, and there's a weak reverse or 1st with engine braking. Put a transducer on the rear servo port, and I'm seeing 180-190 in reverse at 1500 rpm, but the truck still won't pull in 4 low. 1…

  14. 2005 dodge ram 3500 vibrates at idle seems if you put in gear gets better has 1.70000 on it one owner runs great good fuel mileage edge tuner on it since new this vibration you can feel in the seat also any ideas,, ALSO trans has never been messed with except flush fluids clean not burned i was wondering if i change tore converter and maybe updated valve body might head of a problem i tow a 16 thousand pound rv around the country.   16. Hello everyone. I am either not very good at searching or this topic hasn't been talked about yet. Here it is. Friday night i get home from work. Go to roll up my drivers window. It goes up half as then stops. I tried it again.. No luck. I tried every Window from the driver door. Then i tried every Window on each door at the door itself. Nothing. Then i tried the mirrors. Nothing. I then checked the power locks and they worked fine. So then i grabbed a test light and checked every fuse and all of them are good. So i then bought a new master window switch. And. Nothing. Still dead but power locks work. Has anyone else experienced this? If so how …

    I've got 03 ram 5.7 alternator was burnt on the back of it. Unplugged fuses and relays voltage went down to 9.2 from 12.2 can't find the drain even unhooked alternators all the wires .help Scott

    I know of now 3 common rail owners getting upset and either wanting to sell there truck or just park it and let it rot. All 3 owners of injector failures of one type or another. When they find out the price of injectors they are not willing to pay the price to replace them. Sad to say I'm finding more and more 3rd Gen being parked or sold out here because the cost of injectors just isn't worth it. Like I talked to one gent locally yesterday I warned him a year ago about the grid heater light being on is a warning for excessive fuel return from failing injectors.     Ok guys. I’ve been fighting this truck for about 2 months. I was using it as a car hauler when one day my Ecm decided to take a crap. After troubleshooting and finding a broken ecm pin(fuses b+) i sent the ecm to GOecm in Grand Prairie, tx but they said it was fried. When they asked me for my numbers on the valve cover so i could replace the ecm i found the sticker was unreadable. Needless to say they wouldn’t sell me an ecm because they couldn’t determine the correct one. I took it into my own hands and found an 05 auto ecm and bought it.
