I've been on the fence about using 2 stroke oil...Until today. I like to fill up on fuel when gauge is around 1/2. Questions... 1. Is your formula 1 oz per 1 gallon? 2. When filling your tank around 1/2 do you pour in 15 oz all at once or ....??? What is your method. Thanks

  2. Hello, I have followed this forum for years but just joined today. Because i've got a sad sad story. I hope you guys dont get this code. Looking for some help maybe. Reading over the forums from this site and cumminsforum, i now fear my ecm has died. Truck running fine after 45 min freeway drive. Get off freeway and truck starts to act funny. Gauges going ape ****(including temp gauge going full hot and then back to cold). Pedal goes more and more unresponsive. (dead pedal). Rpm's are uncontrolled. Truck Rpm all over the place. Truck lost its marbles. In limp mode with rms going full retard.(never go full retard) limp it…

  3. Looking for a working around solution for 1/4 tank issues. Fuel is thru a sump that is at very rear of tank. When going down step hill I run out of fuel. (Actually when wife stops at mail box on our step driveway) Now she is scarred to death she'll be going downhill and run out of fuel and no power steering. I would like to install something that has more of "supply" of fuel than the small filters on airdog. Thinking about a filter housing without the filter installed, which would be just a space for more fuel than the airdog filters provide. I'm thinking about something about the 1/2 gallon size. Question...this should work i…

  4. Found this trouble a couple of places but no for sure solutions. Mileage on truck is 87,453 and is stock all the way. No trouble in the past. Just Oil, filters, tires and battery. Bought new in late 1999. Old and retired but I like my truck and need to fix it soon so help. Replaced the lift pump and filter, checked the APPS voltages and are OK, engine starts quick and idles perfectly. Touch the accelerator pedal and rpm jumps to approx. 1400 and that is all. Foot off pedal, goes back to idle. MIL (engine light) on & all other lights work normal. Wait to start on and times out as usual. Code P1689 is all that reads. HELP PLEASE.

Anybody know if the manufacture of our blocks makes any difference concerning the killer dowel pin? I've don't have number 53. Only have very small numbers. Supposedly Mexican block. But wondering if both blocks have KDP problem or just one or the other. I'm coming up on 100,000 miles, maybe not worth the hassle of checking KDP anyways. When do most dowel pins fall out? Thanks

  7. Hi Guys! 1st want to say a BIG THANK-YOU to all RE the Timbo, new alternator etc! Running well, but low fuel pressure at VP44. So dropped the tank and found the bottom of the "module" screens were clogged. Local Dealer has no parts other than New In-Tank pump system, and recommended gentle cleaning with a soft tooth brush and brake cleaner fluid. While Gently cleaning the the bottom screens, the top one ripped. My wrench guy removed the little spring unit that seemed to fit between the screens. (I think I said that right.) We then put the new float level unit on and after cleaning the bottom screen, re-attached it. But He did not p…

No CEL. I pulled the injectors Sunday took them apart cl…

I have recently developed a distinct random tapping noise from the engine it normally does it at running temp and is more noticeable at idle. Could this be a injector, cam follower? I hope its not a piston skirt. What's ur all take on this

For the un-educated, like myself ...what are the plus and minuses of going from VP44 to a “P pump” or a "VE pump on a 2001? Recently talking with a guy that loves his. But he is into lots of horse power and mod’s. For the a stock everyday driver would the change be any good? I’m totally confused. He was talking VE and P pumps. Is going to a “P pump” or “VE pump” a horse power or dependability mod? Or maybe not even a upgrade and just create more problems? I did a search online and seemed to me people heavy into mods, a different type of pump might help them. But not sure about someone like myself that just wants to remove as many known weakness and hass…

well, everytime I start talking good about my truck, she let me down again. Started smelling antifreeze, and saw a drip underneath drivers side, thought the petcock might be leaking but further looking I found a pin hole, but anyway, Does any one have any recommendations on a replacement, the only one available around here is ORielys for about 230. bucks, Just don't want to short myself on a cheap radiator since I do some towing and all,

New guy here, first time diesel owner. Somebody traded in a 02 2500 6spd 4x4 at work with 163k. It was going to be wholesaled so I got a pretty good deal on it. I've been reading everything I can trying to familiarize myself with the truck, but I do have some questions. It appears to be completely stock with the exception of a boost gauge that was mounted in one of those pillar pods. I didn't care for the location of it, so I removed it and currently have no boost gauge. Since the truck had no boost gauge from the factory and my plans, at least for the foreseeable future is to keep it stock, is it okay to not have a boost gauge. I'm not heavy footed and …

My fuel tank is out right now and my fuel gauge is not very accurate. Thinking now would be the time to change fuel sender, being tank is already dropped. Question...to test the new sender before installing tank back up... can I extend the wires using jumpers maybe 4 feet to test new sender that would be laying on ground about 3 feet away, fill up maybe ¼ and turn on key , repeat at ½ to make sure new sender is working OK before I put tank back up? Is that a "go" or some reason I shouldn't? Thanks

I dropped the fuel tank today to clean up extra hoses and tubes and fix a small leak at the sump. I had no idea I had so much stuff on top of the tank. The end of the straw is probably a match head of inch from bottom of tank. What is your best guess of why a draw straw would be installed one day and next day after installing it says he is going to install a sump? Thanks
