It never stops, one thing gets corrected and everybody is happy until the next mystery shows up. The 1999 Dodge Cummins 2500 was doing great once the fuel leaks were taken care of. After a few days my brother called me and mentioned a strange harmonic sound coming from under the hood at start up and then fading out once he started to drive. Well the sound has gotten worse and louder. He sent me a recording of it that I could hear with ear pods from my phone. It sounds like a tuning fork. All the belts are good, the belt tensioner is good, fluids are correct, no clamps loose or tears in the boots. I went online and put the description in on google and had some similar soun…

I have a 99 4wd auto, bone stock. The tranny doesn't want to shift out of first. I have replaced the output shaft speed sensor, the governor pressure sensor and transducer. I also replaced the ecm due to the delayed WTS light/fuel pump issue. I checked my alternator for AC noise using a snap on meter it it was 0.03 to 0.05. I've owned the truck for 4 months and it appears to have a fairly new alternator. I took the truck to a local tranny shop (long time biz) he hooked it up to a snap on solus scanner and we drove the truck for about 20 minutes. During that time he said the computer had the p1693 and he couldn't communicate with the body control module. My door chimes, po…

Well guys I finally got my hands on a quad adr so I’ll be joining the V2 tuning addiction soon enough. With the quad I’ll know have the option of doubling up basically all of the gauges I currently have. For the sake of simplicity and laziness, I don’t plan on doing except for the EGTs so I can have the turbo timer. With that, I’d like to try and mount my second egt probe post turbo but haven’t really seen much talk of that done on 2nd gens. Are there recommended places to mount these? Any downpipes that come with a port already welded in place?

I recently put 100 horse scheid lightning injectors in my truck with plans on upgrading the turbo sometime. I've narrowed it down to a couple and i'm looking for some advice on what you think from y'all. I do daily drive this truck along with the county fair sled pull and some trips down the drag strip. First one i'm looking at is http://fleeceperformance.com/turbochargers/cheetah-turbos/holset-cheetah-turbocharger.html i'm just afraid that its not gonna be enough flow on the exhaust side. The last one i'm looking at is built by a very reputable diesel shop in Indiana, the guy owns three 2nd gens, when I talked to him he recommended a 64/71/14 which is based off the s300 …

  5. Hello All I have a Scangauge. I am wondering how accurate the boost reading is compared to a mechanical gauge. .....edit.... Ok, I just had another thought......So let me backtrack a bit.....I just bought a PowerPuck and an Quadzilla boost fooler (it plugs inline with the MAP sensor). I also just made a adjustable boost elbow and I do NOT have a mechanical boost gauge. At this point I have been watching my boost pressure via my ScanGauge. As my truck is unmodified the need to watch it at this point is for curiosity and MPG reasons only. I am planning on installing the newer goods today/this weekend, but I am now wondering if the Quadzilla boost fooler will alter my Sc…

Im new to the world of stock fuel filters seeing I cut my bracket off my old truck and used it to hold isolator about 12 years ago lol. I was about to remove this one when someone on here told me in kind words that that was dumb So what brand seems to be the best?

Who here runs compounds?? I'm looking for reviews on pipe kits or complete kits for s300 over s400 set up. Also injector sizes. Any reviews much appreciated. CCP seem to be able to supply a kit for good money but I've heard a lot of horror stories about ordering from them! Thanks

Curious on what people use for the iQuad Turbo Timer setting - minutes or temp and what values? I currently set mine for 330 degrees. Lately on hot summer days (like now) it takes a good amount of time to get to temp to shut off the ignition. Not sure what (or if) there are optimum values to cool the turbo down. Thanks

  9. Snow is forecast so of course the truck is on the fritz. It's about 40 degrees out. Turn the key, "wait to start" light doesn't come on and grid heaters obviously not working. I have a Quadzilla tuner and if I just leave the key on long enough I can see that the IAT is reading 40 degrees so I know the IAT is working. Even if the relays or grid is broke shouldn't I still see the "wait to start" light coming on for 10 seconds? Is there something obvious I'm missing?

  14. Guys, I just dug out my old scantool that comes loaded with domestic vehicles to 1999, just a year shy of my new to me 2000 2500 4x4 diesel. I am sure if I goto OTC they will say I need to buy the update software, but I think it ought to work don't you? Either that or does anyone out there have an update they want to sell for cheap?

  15. We riding home the other day in 10 degree weather and the fuel pressure gauge decided to put on a show. Running only the pump the pressure will stay at 15psi. If I start the truck the pressure starts out at 15 psi but as the charging systems stops wiggleing the amp gauge and it runs with out cycling the alternator the fuel pressure goes up to 30+and stays there. Performance is good and trust me im glad it went high and not the other way but this is silly. It seemed like maybe something was getting in the line up to the sending unit, ice? So its in a heated shop now and the same condition exists. The wiring is all good and turning the screw into the Holley Regulator s…

Well I'm only hopping that what I just experienced isnt what I think it is but nonetheless.....this is what happened. This last weekend I took the trailer up in the mountains, as I've done many times before. As usual for the north state valley area, it was stinking hot outside and I was pulling hills in 100* weather. No fun either as everything just gets too darned hot when its like that, but surprisingly this truck does amazingly well in staying within the tolerable running gear temps. The situation I'm posting about occurred when I crested the top of one longer grade. I was at about 5500 ft in altitude, running in 3rd gear at around 2300 RPM, and the engine was on t…

Hi I have a 2001 sport 4x4 Cummins. Just put a early 47re in with a dpc billet single disc tc, deep pan, and I did a trans go shift kit. Not the Torque converter won’t unlock I’ve changed all of the electronics in the tranny and pulled the valve body back apart and have found nothing wrong why is it still doing this???

Hey everyone, I just bought my first CTD. It is a 2001 2500 x-cab, long bed 4x4. Has a 4" BDS suspension lift, and air ride. 145k miles. I am loving it so far. I have bought and installed a BHAF already, but other than that it is all bone stock. This is my first diesel so I will probably be posting lots of questions on here. I will be driving this truck daily and eventually will be towing a 5th wheel camper with it. I would like some input on what fuel system setup, and other mods would be the best for what I intend on using it for. Tha…
