  2. I have a 47re automatic transmission and about 1-2months ago lost over drive, so at 55mph Im riding at 3k rpms. I have to take back roads every where lol. I have a beater for now to get around over 40mph. I am wanting to swap my automatic for a stick. I live in Strongsville, Ohio which is between Cleveland and Akron on the westside. Any one know a place within 3-4 hours where they would have everything I need? Thanks in advance for the help, and Happy New Year!

  3. Well everyone, was hoping that this was not the case but... Two mornings in a row I got in the truck and started driving. Truck drove fine to about 30 mph then stopped accellerating. Did not matter what I did with the throttle and I had zero boost. I turned around and started to head home then it picked back up and drove fine. Next morning no issues. Following morning it did like above but after driving a bit longer the boost came on fine and truck drove ok... Still this is not a good thing and finally this morning pulled the intake hose off of the turbo inlet. No real noticeable movement in the turbine up nor down but when I tried to turn it it sure seemed stiffe…

  4. Well folks, for the 3rd time in 4 years my VP-44 is throwing codes. Both the PO216 and P1698 now... Was hard to start for a bit but now thats cleared up but its now smoking badly when I put my foot into it and thought I saw some white smoke while driving it home yesterday. This is after I spent over $1000 to help prevent this from ever happening again. An Air Dog 165 fuel pump with dual filters along with the Vulcan big line kit from the tank to the VP pump, as well as an Edge W/Attitude to monitor the fuel pressure and an alarm should the fuel pressure ever get below 15 psi. The fuel pressure has never gone below 12 psi (it usually sets at 18-19 psi) and the filters…

I've been loosing prime lately. * Park nose downhill, starts fine - uphill, hard to start * Pressurized the return lines from tank filler neck, no fuel leaks visible (did hear a hiss from the top of fuel module - guessing take vent) * Checked all inbound and return connections, everything is dry (replaced sealing rings/grommets for banjo fitting in back of head and tee 10 months ago) * Oil level is fine So at this point I feel like all external fuel lines/connections are sound. I drive like an old man most of the time. However the other night, I turned the quad up a little and got on it for a few seconds. The n…

99 Ram 2500 4x4 auto 5.9 24V bought it with 89K on it now has 116K. The Issue I have is intermittently when it starts it has a ideal lope for about 5 to 10 seconds then ideals normally which around 740 -750 rpm... occasionally 800 rpm... The problem is/was magnified when I installed 75HP injectors... bigger lope like it had a big cam in or something... but again it would ideal normal after 5-10 seconds on it own or if gave it some pedal... it would also like to stall when putting it in reverse with the 75hp injectors sometimes... the problem is only at start up truck runs fine other then that... I put the stock injectors back in and still does it just at a smaller lope…

I have an 01 2500 I’m having an issue at idle, it sounds like it has a slight lope. I can see the variation in rpm on the dash and on my display for my programmer. It will only do it if I’m sitting in park. If I have it in gear it will not happen. It started last week. I just changed the fuel filter yesterday and dumped in a good amount of diesel Kleen. My fuel pressure doesn’t show any drop when it lopes. I have my sensor at the bottom of the fuel housing . It stays at 18psi. It will also lose prime if it’s parked up hill with the engine above the fuel tank ,but it has to sit for more than 8 hours before it loses prime. So I just back in my driveway ,and have no iss…

My truck usually fires right up '99 4x4. 160k miles It started cranking longer a while back, but if I turn the ignition on and wait a few seconds for the lift pump to start it will fire right up I thought it was the fuel filter heater grommet Oring(stock fuel filter). slight seegage Well I finally resealed the grommet. But I still get long cranking if I jump right in and try and start, unless Im patient and wait a few seconds for the lift pump to run then it starts right up. Went over the whole truck fuel fittings checking for leak/seepage, top fuel tank etc. Everything looks clean and no sign of leaks Truck is stock, has all gauges, fuel press, boost, t…

My truck has 110k miles, edge EZ, 4” exhaust, FASS lift pump, Suncoast triple disk, dynamic valvebody, and an Oregon fuel injection VP. The pump has around 20k miles on it never seen less than 14PSI at WOT, always with the FASS, and always had 2 stroke. It recently FEELS like I’m losing low end power. Very very little smoke ever no matter what tune the EZ is on. Just feels like lately I have to push the throttle a lot more to really get going but once it’s wound up then it seems fine. No CEL. New fuel filter. Also my fuel mileage sucks (250-300 miles/tank) Runs great otherwise. Could something be up or am I just losing my marbles??

No codes are present. My problem is when trying to accelerate, anything over around 10% throttle and it cuts out and loses all power like I put it in neutral. Barely got to 40 mph on my way home. Hopefully not a transmission issue. I had a tire blow going down the highway at about 75 last night and not sure if I knocked something loose or what. Had a p1698 code a couple weeks ago with no symptoms and cleared the code without it coming back. The problem doesn’t seem as bad once the engine or maybe transmission gets up to temp. Any help is very appreciated.

while I am not certain I think I must have a leak somewhere in fuel system after my 98 truck sets for some time it will start right up like its supposed to then after 10 or so seconds will die then I must crank it 6 or so times to get it to start then it seems to be fine can any one elaborate on this symptom or problem Thank You

  14. First time to post – Amateur Cummins owner. My truck is 2001 2500 4WD Quadcab 5 speed – 4 inch MBRP exhaust with Donaldson muffler is only changes. Truck has 115,000 miles. I was driving in the PM (warm day) and the vehicle lost acceleration while pulling a hill in 5 gear (nothing in tow). I pulled over and the truck never went dead. Once stopped I was able to change into 1st and pull away with no other issues. The truck did something similar one other time in the past with same circumstances (traveling up hill in 5th gear) but did not have to pull over that time. I pulled the codes out when I got home and found the following P1693, P0216. I have been told the VP4…

  15. Okay I've got something going on with my truck and I'm in need of ideas. My truck sounds different (more tinney rattle) in the top end, less power, less boost higher EGT's. I pulled the valve cover off and re-torqued everything. I was worried something vibrated loose. Everything was tight. I did start the truck while the valve cover was off, and I could hear what was I think was the injectors. Not sure what they are suppose to sound like? I haven't changed a thing with any settings in the Quad tuning. I'm running the edge tune, (I can post them if anyone wants to look them over). Only thing that I found was the set screw on the boost elbow backed out and was gone.…

  16. drove home yesterday, 350 miles with no issues, everything normal. i knew i had run the tank pretty low but should have had a couple of gallons left. went to my son's house this am and backed down his driveway. while ideling the engine appearred to run out of gas. with a low tank and steep down hill grade i could not see it being something else. we got back later with 5 gallons of fuel, put it in the truck and bumped the starter. fuel pump ran but no fuel pressure. i figured the slope was enough that the fuel wasnot deep enough to get to the pmp. went back and got 5 more, no change. went back and got 5 more no change. we pulled the truck out of the drive way and got it po…

  17. Hey! ok so ple ase help me here I just bought a 98.5 cummins about a month ago and it has this issue that I just cant seem to tackle and its super frustrating! if I have ac on just cruzing along in overdrive (48+ mph) it jumps in and out of overdrive! but as soon as I turn the ac off.. no problem! it runs great.... turn it back on it goes right back into this cycle of going in and out of overdrive. when I first got it the ac worked but the fan didn't work so when I took it home and got to lookn at it closer I noticed a wire going to the + battery turminal and it had a blown fuse right there too.. replaced the fuse and fan works great now...... just tonight I put a APP…

  18. I need some help with my 2001 Cummins. I have recently had some dead pedal issues with my truck and took my truck in to a diesel specialist and had him test my injector pump. My injector pump is fine according to him but he found that my waste gate was stuck on my stock turbo. While trying to free the gate, he noticed my turbo was cracked so I purchased a new after market turbo.Last year I replaced the stock exhaust to a 4" exhaust, added a new lift pump (Raptor) and all of my guages. So, while pulling my 5th wheel last weekend, I noticed some funny shifting patterns and sort of dead pedal syndrome. My friend told me his father in law had issues with his Superchip, I a…

  20. Just as the title states it is just a momentary burp. Very repeatable. Doesn't matter if the engine is cold, hot, etc. According to the Edge Attitude monitor it is not related to throttle position (as the percent of throttle in which it occurs can be different and it still happens.) You can feel a slight lag in the truck then it picks up again. It is fine before or after. It happens about 80% of the time. Some clues that may help...it didn't happen before my hard starting problem appeared. However about a year before the hard starting appeared my check engine light came on and it was diagnosed as a crank position sensor code. The code went away and therefore the …
