What's up gang? I've got a simple question for you. What is the maximum reccomended speed for shifting in and out of 4wd? We recently got snow here and some of the roads are covered and some are dry so it's kinda a pita to stop and shift in and out as needed.

Transmission shifting issues after rebuild sent to Dynamic. Update. SNAFU still. Tried jumper wire. Ran a few days, no change. Put relay back in. Kept going with no first in morning after after 305 stoplights and Overdrive locking it self out in city traffic on warm days. Eventually started going into limp mode(third)regularly sometimes not going into first or OD at all. Replaced NSS and relay, did not help. Disconnected BD pressure lock cylinder to make sure it was not hanging up throttle cable/valve. I think it was dirty and not returning all the way. After doing so it ran perfect for two days. Then back in full limp mode. Drove to Sacramento to shop that did re…

My truck is a daily driver and I tow a 30' camper and various equipment on my 10k trailer several times a month. I would like to install an engine brake. Looks like Banks, Jacobs, Pacbrake, and BD are the primary options. I have also read that some turbo setups offer some braking ability. I would like to tune and setup for better low end power and towing. I would like better spooling down low also, so a different turbo may be in the works. My exhaust off the turbo looks like it necks to 3" out of the turbo housing and then up to 4", would like to make that one size if possible. So what would you all recommend? I searched this forum and others and most replies …

Well I called Airdog today and they do not have a bracket for a '02 short bed Ram:(. I really want to put the Airdog 150 by the transfer case, not in the path of wheel debre from being outside on the frame. Does anyone know where one is or have any specs on one that they use/built? I think if someone wanted to make a few of them there is plenty of people that would buy them.

Well the guy that was going to rebuild me a short block fell off the edge of the earth I guess. No price quote no phone call no go jump in the lake no nothing. I have just about had it with people saying I will call you back. Dont lie, just say you dont give a s--- and be done with it. Two weeks wasted, so I call Cummins and they dont sell short blocks, another lie. We all know cummins sells short blocks, anyway he wonts to sell me a long block for 6020.00:mad: Man, I am about to go out and buy me a Sherman Tank and do like that guy on wacked out video's:lmao:

I recently moved and with that took my trip to work from +/-15min to +/-5min to work. Even with the 15 minute drive, I would just be pulling into the parking lot at work and the temp gauge would just be getting into the normal op temps, if that. Now with my drive so short, it's practically impossible to get everything warmed up before I get to work. So other then the obvious, just drive around until its warmer then go to work, are there other viable options to get the truck warmed up as to not be shutting down a cold engine?

I'm stock except for the exhaust. I don't tow very much... but when I do, we put 600 miles on in a day. I don't know how heavy the 28' Tahoe TranSport is but I found one year listed as 7000 dry weight / GVW of near 10,000 (a second listed GVW of 12,000). Truck (see signature) has Tow Package which includes a transmission cooler. I haven't been able to add guages yet. Note: I've discovered 4.10 is the wrong gear ratio with stock tire sizes but I own the truck now. As I posted previously, I pretty much have to use OD on flat & downhill, kick the OD out & drop speed if the truck is unhappy on a grade (no issues except loss of cruising speed). I'd like to bum…

I bought a Frantz bypass filter a good while back but have not installed it in part due to really crappy weather and in large part due to my frustration with finding what I feel is an adequate and maintenance friendly location to mount the filter and run the oil lines. I have read the write-up and looked at the pics of Mike's install. I may end up doing it this way in the end but I wanted to get as many pictures of how the filter mounting installation is done before I make my decision. I want to keep it simple and drill as few holes and cut as little as possible and hopefully not at all. I would appreciate it if you guys who have the Frantz filter installed show me…

I've been lurking here since I bought my truck in February and love this place. I have leavened quite a bit so far and know there is plenty else to learn. I have to things to say/ask so bear with me. To go along with the title, I was headed home for lunch on Friday. Heard a little noise but didn't really think anything of it. Then I noticed my air not blowing could, looked at the gauges and knew the belt was gone. When I pulled over to check it and call Good Sams for a tow, I looked under the hood and saw the pulley for the fan being held on by 2 of the 6 screws and those 2 were loose. Good thing nothing else was damaged. I am wondering how many of you …

Hey guys, I was towing up hill today and somehow the wire harness that runs horizontally across the front frame cross member underneath the radiator fan came loose and got sucked into the fan. 13 wires got shredded. I replaced three blown fuses and managed to splice everything back together and got everything working (headlights, turn signals, hazards, windows, overhead display, etc.) EXCEPT my Power lock function. The unlock works on the driver side and passenger door but not unlock. i’ve been looking for about two hours now for a wiring diagram and can’t seem to find one for that harness. does anyone have any input on what I should try or…

Ok. Quadzilla is installed and now I'm chasing the problem that I think started when I had the Hamilton cam put in. The truck shudders, like it's in some kind of harmonic, when: * Towing uphill (under load - it will do it when not towing but it's barely noticeable) * 4th gear in TC lockup (I have a switch to force lockup and it makes no difference if forced into lockup) * Starts at 1800 RPM, about 21# Boost, IQuad says 18 timing If forced into third and TC lockup problem seems to go away (but RPM boosts to about 2200) I've tried increasing ans decreasing timing at the 1500 and 2000 mark. It seems less if I set the ti…

I get some crazy wheel hop from a dead stop if I hit it hard...bucks crazy.....then a shutter or vibration when shifting 2nd to 3rd when accelerating hard....not just in a turn either....almost feels the same as the hop, just lighter. You can feel and hear it thru the dash.....never from first to second.....just second to third......probably torque converter and not more wheel hop huh?

Thought I had my trans sorted out but unfortunately that's not the case. Currently the TV lever on the side of the trans pushes back so hard I'm unable to push the throttle pedal down much beyond idle. I'm unfamiliar with how the TV interacts with the VB so I have no idea what could be causing this. I need to know if this is something that I would be able to fix tonight or if I'm just screwed.

Good evening ladies and germs. yet again the gremlins are on my truck lol. To start i have had zero issues with the vp44 since replacement of it 3-4 years ago (budget rebuilt vp, didnt have much $ at the time). I have replaced the lift pump system twice and no issues/codes since last replacement early this year. new connector tube orings last summer, no head leaks. new seal washers on return line from head, will check for leaks. So this morning i drive home zero issues. This afternoon it was about 95 outside and started the truck from cold and it started with zero issues (normal time to ignition lets say 1.5 seconds to fire) I drive appx 10 or so miles…
