hi everyone my name is Jason barrett, I live in Lincoln Ca, I have an 02 2500 with a few simple things done, 4inch mbrp turbo back exhaust, BHAF, 2.5 inch leveling kit, quadzilla dxzt-02 programmer, an expensive transmission, with a d&p triple disc billet converter, billet servos, billet valve body, Kevlar bands, and that is about it for now. My ECM question is in my opinion a dumb one, I think I might know the answer to. so here we go, what exactly is the difference between a 2002 6speed ecm and a…

My truck, since new, has had an ongoing fuel gauge issue. Warranty replaced it 3-4 times. Warranty ran out years ago, but occasionally it will freeze at full. The second to last time it got stuck at full, it started registering fuel level after driving on some bumpy, rutty forest roads. It froze again at full just before the new year, so yesterday, I took it off road to try some bumps and sure enough, it started working again. Anyone have any ideas what would cause it to stick and then get jarred loose by rough roads? Thanks.

Wired this up today! I used a switch and tapped into the relay for my fass. Now on cranky days or when i change my filters i dont have to bump they key to prime the filters. Its the switch between the tst and the brake.

Hi everyone. I just installed a Pureflow FRRP-100 on my 01 Dodge 2500. It works great so far. My question is my kit didn't come with a relay for the pump. The instructions say to plug it into the factory harness. I would like your opinion, should I install a relay or will it be ok?

I've been leaking a small amount of diesel since my fuel system upgrade. Assumed it was one of the many connections on the filter or injection pump. Could find no sign of leaks there. Crawled under the vehicle. Nothing from the front. Diesel has been dripping off the front drive axle housing. Went behind the front axle and found a drip hanging off the filter drain hose. So I figured I'd open and close it. Started the truck and diesel came out the hose full force. Shut off truck. Opened and closed the valve a number of times. It feels sticky. But finally got it to shut off. Not sure yet if it fixed the slow leak or not. Is that drain valve serviceable? I see its got a scr…

I have read the Caterpillar, University of (Indiana?) and Air Dog, etc. documents about entrained air in diesel fuel affecting power and retarding injection events. Does anyone know if that significantly affects MPG and EGT in our trucks, specifically? It sure seems like my EGT is higher than most (700-800F), my MPG is around 17.5-18 (hand calc) even at 65 MPH in average weather/wind conditions running empty. When I give the fuel a super dose of PDS gray stuff to increase cetane in an effort to advance the ignition, everything improves - but PDS gray isn't free, even if it isn't expensive. I ran Rotella T6 almost 10k miles and had an oil analysis done to check for fu…

1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect APPS harness connector. APPS is located on a bracket, just above fuel injection pump. Start engine and allow the engine to idle. Using DVOM, measure voltage at terminal No. 5 (Dark Blue/White wire) on APPS harness connector. If the voltage is greater than 5.5 volts, go to next step. If the voltage is 5.5 volts or less, go to step 3. I get 5.6 2. Turn ignition off. Turn ignition on with engine off. Using DVOM, measure voltage at terminal No. 5 (Dark Blue/White wire) on APPS harness connector. If the voltage is greater than 5 volts, repair short to voltage on Dark Blue/White wire between APPS and ECM when the ignition is on. EC…

so i just had the local highly recommended tranny guy rebuild my burnt toasted transmission.first thing, the starter sounds different. do these use shims like the old Chevy's? sounds like its meshing to tight. or something. is this easy to adjust?second. when in gear pushing the pedal the first say 1/4-1/2 inch is really stiff. then it loosens up as it used to be. but only while in gear, R-N-D. not so in park. might this be the "shift kit" that was installed. when in park, no issues pedal is smooth and easy as can be. just how firm do you with auto's shift? i was expecting to feel a difference after the hyped up parts list. but don't feel different to me. mu shutter in lo…

When I return to new Mexico on fri june 1st I am going to hitch up a trailer to my new to me dodge and tow my Toyota t 100 home to the emerald triangle. So my question is should I have double a em c o do a filter change on my tranny before I leave? The tranny seems fine but I suspect that it has never been done. This is an aautomatic tranny whatever came stock. Should I have them do a ful on flush or should I just drive it home? I just don't want to create problems. Thanks guys.

Okay, so I gotta get the dampener off to fix my crank seal. I do not remember it being so hard! I do not have a barring tool and it would be 4 days out at the earliest. I do not have that kinda time to wait. Is there anything I can do to break the bolts free?I thought about whether or not I could put it into Drive and break them that way. Would that work?

Started working on my Airdog pump and low pressure fuel gauge today. Pressure tested at the Airdog port and it shows 21 ½ pounds on one of Vulcans gauges. I’ve read people like 15-17psi . I assume the psi would be the same closer to vp44. Question 1…Is 21 psi OK or is it too high and might damage pump? Model of pump is DF 100 which I think is not adjustable, but not 100% sure. The pump is mounted with the fuel line from Airdog just the way they ship it and was not cut to fit. So pump is about ½ way between VP44 and sump at tank. To take up the slack in the fuel line, the guy put a circle bend in the line under the airhorn and already chaf…

I recently replaced my ECM with a Cummins Re-Con unit. the truck runs fine and it seems the problems are cured by the cruise control light is on. Is this something that would be cured by having the unit programmed to the vehicle at the Chrysler dealer?

Hello all. I have a 99 dodge, the truck has a 2002 engine that has been installed, after the ‘53’ block died. The truck has a tone wheel mounted to the front of the balancer for the ckp sensor. The truck has the HO vp pump and the computer for the 2002 engine. the issue I’m having is a p1690 and p0338 codes. The only issues the truck seems to have is a miss or stumble at idle that seems to come and go, and high egts. I have recently replaced the balancer as it was coming apart, reset the air gap on the tone ring to the sensor and Cleared codes and they come right back. looking for recommendations on where to go next. tr…

Two questions about fuel module 1. Bottom of fuel module there is a couple screen filters. I broke mine yesterday trying to clean the module up. With an Airdog and 2 micron filter, do I even need to have a screen? 2. If screen is not needed, can I cut off the bottom and extend draw straw to make sure zero chance of ¼ tanks issues? Thanks

So I've been slowly redoing all my interior on my truck, and I've almost got everything fixed, except the driver side rear door. It has a new cable, and Ive cleaned and greased the ever loving hell out of the mechanisms, but the inside handle still won't open without help from the outside handle. It just literally needs maybe a 1/16th more of movement on the inside handle. The outside handle will open flawlessly (two fingers to open it). I have looked inside and saw the rods have threads on them, but idk how to adjust it, or if I even can? Does anyone know how to do this?
