  1. '99...Coming out of the big wiring harness below the vp44 at the side, front, area of the motor right where the engine serial number tag is. There are two electric connectors that are factory plugged. Just curious if anyone knows what they were supposed to be for. They both have factory connector plug caps on them

I spent quite a bit of time searching for the correct belt for a Mechman alternator install. What belt are you running on your small pulley high performance alternator? THANKS!

How exactly does the quadzilla adrenaline read boost and what should my boost be? The app on my phones reading like 19 max. I’m not hearing any boost leaks though.

  4. My fuel filter is still in the factory housing and used to just go to the local cummins shop to get a fuel filter but I have moved and would really like to know what to put in my truck. I think it was fleetguard but cant remember now. This topic is popular in the 3rd gen section but it never really comes up in the 2nd gen forums. So, what do you use?

  5. Newbie here, play nice. My son's 2001 24V 6Sp manual has started an interesting/frustrating new habit. Seems as if once the beastie gets up to temperature and your changing throttle positions I'm getting an uncommanded shutdown. I verified this phenomenon this afternoon by shoving a thumbtack through my Red/Lt. Green 12V+ wire going to my VP44 and hooking up a VOM to it. Sitting in the driveway I let it idle and gave it some light accelerator action until Barney the Wonder Mule warmed up. I opened the throttle to about 2000 rpm once it got close to 190 degrees and ran the accelerator pedal above and below 2000 RPM about 200 rpm either side of the 2K mark. Sure enough wit…

  6. Please mention sensors, anything you know to check for. A complete list of things to check is what I'm after...... thank you.

I recently installed 4 gauges in my truck, new lift pump, new exhaust and new BHAF. I was running my "Super Chip" in my truck and noticed that my exhaust temp peaked a few times around the 1200+ range when I would step on it and had my Super Chip installed. I uninstalled my Super Chip and noticed a 400 degree drop in temp.Honestly, I dont need my Super Chip installed at all times other than either hauling my camper or pulling my tractor and I dont need it either pulling them when I am on level ground which is what most of the interstates by me are.So I am looking for a chip that I can flip on/off at a moments notice instead of programming my truck. My truck is an 2001 …

Well I have to say I wish I had found this site years ago. I have a quick question and hope it doesn't open a can of worms. I have a friend who's VP44 has gone out. He is looking for a replacement. He does not have a lot of money to spend so I suggested to him that I would sell him my pump out of my truck for the core cost and get a new rebuilt for my truck. Nothng wrong with mine but I like to head things off at the pass before I have problems. I have almost a 100,000 miles on my 2000 Dodge 2500. If this were your truck Mr Nelson who's pump would you go with. I'm looking at pump from Blue Chip Diesel. Cost is not an issue and I don't want a hot rodded pump. Th…

  10. I'm hoping someone knows about this. Can a map sensor affect the output of the liftpump? I think the stock liftpump has a hi and low setting. Will a map sensor giving bad reading defuel the vp? Or is it working in reverse and sensing boost and then adding fuel?

Base Info, 1999 FASS fuel pump on the block new injectors at75 hp new tubes and lines on all injectors, new exhaust manifold 3 piece with new banks intake. Quadzilla Adrenaline Daily driver tune The issue I have is.... there is an inconsistent time for the WTS light to come on. there is also a duration the light stays on Some time when I start the Dodge she fires rite up half a turn and she comes to life other times she will turn over and not start until the second and some time the third try I am thinking the module that controls the WTS light seems to be in league with the issue. I don't remember it taking so long to come on. when I put the key in the ignit…

Morning Gents. Following is a YouTube link of truck going down the road. Speed dependent tick/knock. Started happening after I installed water/meth injection and wasnt smart enough to dial timing way back. Since symptoms manifested I've redone valve lash, retorqued exhaust manifold bolts and both hotside turbo mounts. I'm not sure where to go from here, truck still has power, rod bearing on the way out? Really appreciate any insight. https://youtu.be/YgKtf61n9iE

  14. ok fellas.. ... i searched for kick down threads and i would think there be alot of threads but no... My main issue is i have to kick the overdrive out to jump out of my lane and pass a car. or getting on an onramp once i pick up speed it shifts to soon unless im really pedal to metal. so when its on the last gear in overdrive there is no going back. I dont like hot rodding all over the place but if i want to pass a little honda its embarassing sometimes.. just put in 100 hp injectors, adjusted bands at trans... replaced intercooler boots.... its got power just not going very far at 1100 rpm... thnx guys for ur help

  16. Kinda curious what these little numbers signify. I guess as long as it doesn't have a 53 I am ok, but I am just wondering what everybody else's engine blocks have cast into them number wise, might be kinda interesting to see. driver's side pass side

  17. I'm disabled & have to send out virtually all work. I have an original maker AirDog... out of warentee because if how I bought it... mounted to the frame rail. I like the mechanical pumps but am afraid I can't send something that complicated to a shop. Wife has the truck... broken down in Vt. So I have to make choices, long distance. I'm going to have to deal with it tomorrow.

  20. So i got to thinking that having polls will help many make a decision or get a baseline of certain vitals on the cummins. Ill make a poll for a few things, it will help with troubleshooting as i see many times folks asking for "what range should i run" or "what is a good pressure" etc etc. I think these will be beneficial for all of us. Maybe Mike can make them a sticky so folks can get a quick look at vitals and what people run with things quickly.ill make the polls seperate from this thread.
