I am simply going to ask random questions regarding my truck and upgrades, feedback on upgrades others have done....anecdotal evidence etc.... To start off...has anyone ran the stainless diesel manifold? (http://www.crazycarlsturbos.com/Stainless-Diesel-Exaust-Manifold-SDman.htm) If so....what is your opinion on it? I am slowly preparing for compounds OR just a larger single, haven't decided yet. Specific setup is still not known at this point, however I do know I want reliability and usability over everything. In my other thread, TFaoro made some excellent points ( ). I'll be back with more ?s. Thanks. …

What’s up guys? I recently had some issues with my truck which caused me to pull codes on it. When I did that I read the “diagnosis” on 2 different handheld OBDII scanner. Both of them were showing around 13% on the apps or tps. I have tried to mess with it to recalibrate it before but when I do mess with it, it throws a code and the CEL comes on. I have noticed that I have to pushed the peddle further than I should to get the truck to accelerate. It is an aftermarket APPS that is on the truck. Back when I bought the truck I assumed it would solve my ground/ lock/unlock issue. Then I realize that had nothing to do with it and never switched it back to the factory one beca…

I'm new to posting here, but have been reading tons of threads, suggestions, and related story issues here over the past month and a half. I am working on a friends 01 that I cannot seem to get figured out. This started for him last fall with the truck having dead pedal issues, stuttering/miss, and a small hand full of codes. I unfortunately don't have those codes to reflect on now, but the agreed upon synopsis was that the VP44 was on its way out so we made a plan to attack it this spring. Back in April I installed a new VP44 from Bluechip Diesel along with the Airdog FRRP lift pump. At this time I also installed 2 new Interstate Batteries. The truck fired right up…

Full of aluminum, rear seal is leaking so I figure it could have something to do with tail shaft. I bought this trans from All State Gear in San Antonio Tx and it was not a good experience. I am willing to spend the bucks and get a really good trans build. Any suggestions?

hello everyone i have a 2001 24v cummins and am having a lot of problems trying to figure out my dead pedal situation. It all started a couple months ago where I would get dead pedal and a surging in the rpms. I changed the APPS and set the voltage to 0.420v and my surging problem went away but now i have dead pedal A LOT! Iv checked wires and grounds. I cleaned all the grounds and changed some ends but looking at the APPS sensor wiring it looks like the PO spliced in a wire to terminal 3 and ran it straight to the pcm but also keeping the wire going to the ecm. Iv had the truck for 2 years and no trouble up until a couple months ago so I can't see that being the p…

Alright so I might have done something really stupid. I put 2 bottles of the amsoil engine flush in my engine and ran it for an hour on high idle. I did this when I was checking/charging my AC system. I know that you are only supposed to do it for 15 minutes but the only thing in the amsoil engine flush is just detergents, no solvents so I thought it wouldn't hurt anything. After the flush I changed the oil with fresh 15w-40 and a new oil filter. So afterwards I noticed that when I was driving on the freeway @ 65mph, my oil pressure sat at 49-50psi. It would normally sit around 54-56psi but it seems that something changed. I'm around ~1840 rpms when the speed is 65mph. I …

Hey guys looking for some answers on my 99 24 valve 3500 auto. It has bhaf/industrial injection vp44/and fass 150 with big hose lines and in tank sump all installed at same time about two years ago. Fuel pressure gauge is installed about a foot from ip with shrader valve cracked idk if it’s to close and giving an erratic reading but it will idle steady at about 14 then jump up to 18 while driving then all the way down to 10 then back up so basically it fluctuates up and down while driving between 18-10. Another thing that’s going on. sometimes it has a long start when hot sometimes not. And every day when cruising above 65 it will stop accelerating and only give me 30% th…

Hi I have a 99 dodge 2500 with 62/68/14, 165 fass, bd exhuast manifold, bank high ram intake horn, edge juice, etc. I just got some 200 hp injectors that I put in to replace the stock ones. I fired up the truck after bleeding the fuel lines and it has a really slight lope/rough idle. This disappears under acceleration and only seems to happen at idle, when I look under the truck it appears that I have a small drip of fuel coming from the back of the block. Feeling the injector tube/fuel line connections they appear to be dry.. I'm a little at a loss as to what's going on

PCM is not energizing the C3 pin 25 blue wire that controls the ac clutch, generator field or trans relay. Had a p1693 “DTC detected in companion module” and no communication with transmission. Had power and ground to pcm so I swapped with a known good PCM but no change. Cleaned all harness connectors and replaced the CKP sensor and CMP sensor. Checked pin 45 on the ecm and there wasn’t + voltage but there there was a ground signal that was all over the place before the meter finally settled at 8-9 volts. Is this supposed to be a pulsing ground or a solid signal? And should it be + voltage? Also how does the ecm ground itself? Maybe a bad ground connection on the ecm?

I store my truck from Nov to March and this year when I took it out I noticed that the fuel pressure was dropping more the normal. I have had 2 separate times that I was letting it idle while unloading it I noticed that the idle sounded different. The last time it happened I was going back to move it and there was no lift pump pressure. I shut it down and then bumped the starter to see if the pump would run and it did with 17 pounds at a idle (18 to a dead motor). I have also noticed that the fuel pressure drops almost 2 pounds more this year under hard acceleration. Being that the pump has been on there for at least 7 years I just bought a new one ( fass ddrp 02). Change…

Hello guys. Long time lurker. I bought a 2002 24v with a NV 5600 about a year ago. The truck had tons of goodies when I bought it. Iv been trying to make it as reliable as possible since I drive it all across the county. Today I am fixing my tappet cover leak with a billet cover. I notice two plugs that are just hanging out with out a home. They lead to the harness the runs along the bottom of the tappet cover. Here are some images. I was hoping someone could help me identify them. My edge juice with attitude also took a crap the other day. It keeps saying “failed to connect” but it works half the time. Sometimes it will fail to …

After 18 years of interesting CTD enthusiasts and transmission specialty outlets all contributing their method, or fix, to the well known TC lock unlock syndrome, I can no longer remain silent. Extensive review of many posts regarding TC lock unlock, the rerouting methodes, the add on filters for APPS and last, but not least,...the "tin-foil hat" brigade. I do realize that each individual or company that contributed to the vast amount of information on the web had good intentions and I must acknowledge that some of the procedures caused me to closely examine what these people were trying to do. I believe it is well known that even a blind mouse occasionally fi…

I’m still running down some issues with my truck. It will start and run but I dont have any charging, no a/c clutch, and no O/D. Everything works when bypassed. No voltage from the pcm on the blue wire from the pcm to the trans relay and alternator. Checked CCD bus with a meter and have 2.4 - 2.5v on the network. Unplugged all modules except pcm, ecm, and ipc. Still no signal. Checked cam sensor and the bolt was missing but I replaced the sensor anyway. Checked and cleaned all grounds. Instrument cluster and overhead console are working so I don’t think the ccd is the issue. I’m wondering if it’s possible to have a bad crank sensor even though the engine starts and runs. …

I had the flatbed hitched up to go get some scrap from a friends house, made it 3/4 around my block and got a dead pedal. I was able to coast back into my parking spot which was nice. I checked codes on the Edge, got a P0121 and a few others I see on occasion. The pedal came back after a minute of sitting but now I'm too spooked to drive it anywhere. I got the explanation of the code from the articles section and will be going through the test steps. I wouldn't be too upset if it were time to step up to a timbos apps. I was able to do my scrap run, buddy still had his work truck, 2016 GMC 2500 so we hooked up my trailer and got it done. I want air conditioned seat…

When I purchased my truck the hydro-boost had a leak, but instead of replacing the gaskets I just purchased a whole new unit, (I figured after 205,000 miles I might as well). Now 2,500 miles later of no problems or leaks, I got in my truck yesterday morning, started it, and a couple seconds of idling later there was a loud noise coming from the hydro-boost. I quickly shut off my truck, waited a few minutes and then tried to start it up again, and it started doing it again. (P.S. whenever I tried turning the steering wheel or pressing the brake the sound would get louder). However I came home from work that evening and started it up and it didn’t make the sound, and drove …

I’ve been having hell with my ‘99, it’s a 2500 4x4 with an automatic trans. 130,000 miles all stock except for a few cosmetic things. One day out of the blue the trans went into limp mode, I hooked up my scan tool and I didn’t have any communication with the transmission. I started checking wiring harnesses and senors on the transmission. Found the output shaft speed sensor was bad so I replaced it and now the truck shifts 1-3 but has no O/D. It’s not my daily driver so I let it sit for a few days and came back to it when I had some time and I noticed it wasn’t charging the batteries and the A/C wasn’t working either. I wanted to verify that the it wasn’t each system fail…

So I just had a Southbend Dual Disc Clutch installed in my NV5600 truck and the whole truck shakes. If you press the clutch pedal in the shaking stops. Once the truck warms up it shakes less. It feels like the truck is running on 5 cyl. What is going on? Did the shop install the clutch wrong? Is this normal?

Just when you think your done- another issue. I have an situation where when in 4wd the truck functions fine (mostly to pull my boat out of the water at the lake) no issues. The problem is that if I turn either left or right while in 4wd the front end shudders pretty violently. When I straighten back up its fine. I got the truck off the ground and ran it in 2wd and 4wd with the wheel straight ahead. All worked fine until in 4wd if I turned the wheel either right or left the front end began to shake as if something was out of balance but in a big way. I straighten back out and all is well. Seems like something is majorly wrong here. The front differenti…

Hey Guys, New weird problem. Its a 2001 3500 auto trans 5.9l 85,000 miles. The issue is when I make a very hard turn, both right or left, the rear end (or something in the back) seems to be extremely loose and starts to bounce and make an extremely loud banging noise that goes away after I slow down and straighten out. It really feels like the entire truck is going to rattle apart until I get it straight again. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Neal
