  1. Guys i am in need of some insight. I have a 1999 24v cummins. This truck has been a headache to say the least but i am at a standing point. This is what has been replaced in the last 6 months and has been at 4 different shops including a chysler dealer. They have all given up but i am not ready too. The truck will only run when the c3 plug on the PCM is unplugged. This is the plug nearest the passenger side fender. This is what has been replaced IP Liftpump- stock replacement PCM- has been flashed to match VIN at chyrsler dealer engine harness has been replaced with one out of a running truck with same year and details( 4x4, auto )…

Thanks in advance for any advice! Went to start my truck today and ran for about 10sec and died, can't get it to restart! Fuel pump seems to be working, have fuel coming from lines at injection pump, inlet and return, no codes I'm aware of, I don't have a reader just with key procedure. What's involved with checking injection pump? (Please don't let it be that!!) I'm a diesel noob and fairly new to me truck, please be gentle ? Thanks! Don

  3. New here, but not new to dodges. Some of you will probably know me from CF. My grandpas truck, 2001 Cummins 47RE and completely stock, spent all day working on it, various things, but I did some diagnostics and thats why I am here. Ill start with the gear hunting issue first. I tested AC noise. has about 0.03V, which is 'acceptable' apparently. Okay. Had no real way to log the truck while driving, I dont have a snap on scanner or similar to watch APPS and other parameters that might effect TCC operation. This diagnosis was kind of a dead end. Mostly I wanted to identify AC noise and go from there, which I did. Issue seems to become m…

Alright so I've got this 24v project im working on - don't have any exp on them and I heard this is the spot to go... Trucks got p1689 flashing, p0113 codes. Previous owner said it "wouldnt go above 20km/h". I havent tested that theory because I suspected the lift pump. I have a FASS100gph & set of glowshift gauges going in this thing shortly but I wanted to confirm the source of these codes before i mess with them. I also am having, what I believe to be the sending unit act up on me. Fuel gauge at E, but when I disconnect / reconnect connection at top of sending unit it jumps up to half then slowly climbs down. Tested the gauges on the dash, and fuel gaug…

Good morning, currently installing my FASS 165 LP and the directions have me installing an Add-A-Fuse into a ignition hot fuse under the hood it does not talk about wiring the LP into the PCM at all. Can someone point me in the right direction as to where I should place this "add-a-fuse" for the ignition hot. I've added the install manual i'm working with for reference, it's on PDF page 13 step E and F. Thanks and cheers! TS-D08-095G-or-TS-D08-165G-2.pdf

My son has a 2002 Dodge 2500 Diesel has codes P0522 and P0336. The oil pressure switch, which is a single wire switch, has been replaced with a Cummins part and the PO336 code is troubling because there is no crank shaft sensor on a 2002. When you start the truck the instrument cluster shows no oil pressure and the tach is erratic for 8 seconds then drops off and the truck runs at a normal RPM but is in limp mode. ANY help would be appreciated.

I have a code just set for the first time yesterday sure yesterday it was PO238 map sensor voltage high, I cleared this yesterday to see what would happen today Turned ignition on today and PO237 map sensor voltage low set, no PO238 Done the diagnostics for the 237 code and everything checks out except map voltage is 0.5v ignition on not running or running, it does increase to around 1v to 1.6v if stalled in gear I got 5.2v on orange which tells me the 5v supply is good, no other sensor codes set no short to earth on the other 2 wires or each other I haven't disconnected the ecm plugs and checked continuity of these two Fitted a quad a…

Ok guys got my vacuum pump resealed, no more oil being pushed out the CCV, and got my vacuum lines replace so my heater works on all positions. Fixed the banjo bolt leak on the back of the head, and T fitting leak on the return line. But I still have a bad problem until the truck is fully warm it has no power still, and if the outside temp is below 40 it loses power bad. And still have a hard starting issue has to crank for around 20 seconds and then until it sets for about 3 hours itll stat back instantly. New batteries, cranks fast, new fuel filters, fass DRRP lift pump. 15psi fuel pressure idle, 9 WOT. Any ideas would help I'm thinking my VP44 is shitting the bed it's …

Ok. So long story short, I tried to swap the old 150 injectors into my truck after I went through and set all the pop off pressures with shims(diesel class project). They're pretty much junk, considering they do nothing but just smoke out everything behind the truck. I ended up going back to the stocker set I got from a good guy from here (name escapes me atm, but thank you again amigo). Had hell getting the truck started again, which I think was because I backed the truck into my spot at home, and it was leaning back slightly (the road has a crown). I got a friend and he helped me get her going again, but as it was idling, it started pouring fuel out of the bottow. We tr…

Damn was getting ready to do the WT ground mod and noticed the upper mount tab is broken on my Alternator. It's a bosch. Are the bosch and denso alternators interchangeable? I've been shopping around for a replacement but seems to be some confusion about the correct alternator, depending on the eighth digit of the vin. ( in my case it's "C") Advance auto has the actual bosch alternator (based on the alternator part#) but the listing says it's for trucks with a vin: 7 https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/bosch-premium-100-remanufactured-alternator-al6400x/20851271-P?navigationPath=L1*14920|L2*14999|L3*15587 Rock auto has an alternator …

Hi Guys.. new here, but have been reading as a guest for a while. I’m always amazed at how knowledgable a lot of you guys are and all the helpful information available. Here’s my situation, and I’ll try to remember a much detail as I can and in the proper sequence. Last year my truck was sitting for about 7-8 months without use. I was helping one of my parents out of town and wasn’t able to do much else. So when I got home, my truck batteries were totally dead. These were new batteries, maybe 4 months old prior to leaving. I couldn’t get them to take a charge. Took them in, load tested, replaced. Then the truck’s EVS II system wouldn’t disarm and I think the d…

I haven't been on a forum in many years but you kinda need to go back to them when you have a real question that needs to be answered. I have an 01 Dodge Ram 2500, auto, Quadzilla, 75 injectors, 62/68/12 and a Airdog I run the Quad on the stock tune on the fuel saving tune and bump it up one when towing I just installed my 3 piece manifold so I have my Quadzilla and Edge CTS probes installed and have really noticed my EGTs. They seem to be around 800 in flat ground and up to 1100 on small hills. I was told maybe it has a boost leak which I have checked. My truck can hit 25 lbs quick but kinda seems to max out but my wastegate should open at 35. May…

As my first post, thanks for all you do for the rest of us...I appreciate you all more than you know. I’m going through the step by step for this code and have run into a snag at step 5. Looking for confirmation with someone else before I start cutting wires. By these results I’m guessing a problem with both my white and black wires between the FPCM and the ECM and I should replace both. (Ironically both these wires have a weird little twist coming out of the FPCM) FYI. Just finished the W-T ground mod. Waiting on a circuit breaker to do the positive side. If anyone could confirm my suspicions, i would greatly appreciate it. 5. …

Howdy there everyone, hope everyone is well and healthy! So during this “pandemic” slow days at work has given me more free time to mess with the 24v so I have some 7x.12 nozzles that I’ve had laying around but I know they’re way too much for my he351 because as of right now I still get tons of turbo shutter, looking at new turbo options, on Power Driven Diesel my preferred place to get parts, they have upgraded he351’s 62,64,67mm anyone have any luck with these? Or I’m looking at an sxe 362 or 364.5 if I was to go this route would I go a .70 or .80 t3 housing? I’m looking to be around 550-600hp on a single yes I know compounds the way to go on these 24v’s but man droppin…

Looking to identify where this plug is supposed to go the wire colors are Yellow/Blue, Yellow/Green, Black/White. It's located next to the ECM on the right side of the motor as you face the truck. just above the engine mounted fuel pump. I unplugged it from a pigtail system which is in the attached photos. There are zero markings as to what this box is/does, the small tag on the wire loom is not legible the only thing I can pick out on it is "4-02tdw". Any help would be appreciated, I reconnected the cannot plug to the left of the one in question as well that's depicted in the first photo. This was also connected to the system in box in question. …

  18. Sorry guys, I posted the other day with a P1689 Code, which is now gone and hasn’t come back. Starts and idles great. Sounds perfect, just won’t rev over 2000rpm. I assume just waiting to pop back up. While watching live stream I noticed these voltage readings. Any ideas as to why, or what’s up? Grid heaters are unhooked by the way. IMG_3223.MOV

So Ive had the Gould pump reseal kit for awhile and decided since I got all this downtime I would go and rebuild it this morning. Everything was goin great until I started to drive the seal retainer out of the housing. I cannot get the damn thing to budge. Using a big dead blow and the provided driver tool, even used a 2x4 and a 3lb sledge and that sucker wont budge. Anyone had this issue or any tips/tricks?

  20. Hey folks need advice on how effective adding a aux trans cooler will be to keeping my trans temps in check, I bought my 2001 with 300k from my uncle in law. He was the original owner and always serviced it at my father in law's shop. I only using for hunting, camping and occasional trailer hauling trips. I'm a park ranger in Nevada and love backcountry hunting, climbing, mountain biking etc... My favorite spot involves a 45+ minute climb in 4LO to get up a series of switchbacks from 5500' to 8000'. The transmission, and eventually the motor gets hot. Trans 225+ motor 210. Juice will read the temp sensor I installed in the transmission on passenger…
