Hello. Just got a package from Vulcan Performance. 1/2" big lige kit for my 98.5 24v. I got the 90 degree fittings in both ends, vp44 end has tapped port for fuel pressure sensor. That thread shoud be 1/8 npt right?? Was wondering what that one fitting is in the picture, the one with plastic cap on! It says 1/8 bsp in the cap. I was remembering that those two have different angle in threads. So can I put a needle valve directly to that 90 degree fitting closest to vp44?? I have also 18" long grease gun hose to get the sender away from vp. Can you give me some ideas to assemble the kit? Thanks and greetings from Finland!

I am running a airtex lift pump and have my pressure gauge hooked up at banjo bolt coming off the injector pump. I was looking and Vulcan they sell a big line kit with a tee that I can mount the pressure solenoid. Just doing a 1/2 inch line from the fuel filter housing to the injector pump- would that be beneficial at all since the rest of my lines are all still factory. What are yalls opinion on this.

When I install my big line kit from FF to VP, and if I keep my pressure gauge tapped at the fuel filter test port, will the increased fuel line size result in more pressure at the VP inlet that I won't be able to see on my gauge because it's mounted at the fuel filter test port. Just curious. Thanks.

Have 99 that when you start it runs real rough for about 5-10 seconds then tach quits cel comes on and it smooths out but not drivable no power. This all started with no start condition Ecm was not turning on fuel pump.Replaced Ecm truck started but gave code for bad cam sensor so I replaced it and it still gives that code and same problem. All sensors have 5 volts all grounds are good put in new crank sensor. I have now replaced the ecm again and the cam sensor with still the same problem. K- short as i can be. acquired gen 2 5.9 24 to pull my rig to Intel Az. Keep in mind I know nothing about diesels, haven't driven a manual in years let alone pull a 28' cross country. Work offer of a life time, short notice, freaking out. I call him he picked up, no virtual hold press every button for the next 1/2 hour BS. Mike hears my panic mode, "give me a few days to plan and ill drive down" aaaahh what, can u please repeat that,, ditto! WTF came to mind! Rearranges his could be busy for a life time schedule, then keeps me updated of his location for eta (fin thought he was in a crop duster). Shows up cracks the whip, parts flying of my front end and drive train…

Well haven't been on here for a couple years. My old 2002 24v 6 speed's life came to an end and mine almost did as well. Was Sept of 2016 and I was coming home from fishing. Was about 9:30pm. I was traveling below the speed limit by about 5km/hr. Speed limit is 100km/hr (approx 60mph). I noticed a truck was really wanting to pass. So I was driving along then out of no where Big Canadian Mr Moose comes trotting out. I had a split second to figure out what to do. Either hit him and maybe have him come through windshield and kill me or go around him and almost certain roll my truck because of the non existant shoulders of the road and steep banks. So I had no …

Hey everyone. I'm new to the diesel world and trying to figure out which size injectors to go with. Seems like 150hp + Quad + s382/364 is a popular combo for upgrades. My concern is that I live in Montana and it gets a little chilly here. Would 150hp injectors make for harder starts in the cold winters? I usually plug the pickup in at night, but worry about it not starting if I installed larger injectors.

A quad is on my list of things to buy but I’m not that far down the list yet. My truck needs new injectors sooner than later though. I would like to go with something in the 7x.009 range(100hp) Can I get away with running the bigger injectors before installing a tuner? What might it run like? I imagine they would greatly benefit from the timing adjustment that comes from a tuner but would it still be streetable for the time being?

Noticed pulling the trailer the other day that it was easy to get into the 1200 degree range on the egt's. Would a little bigger turbo like a gen 3 or 4 help with dropping the egt's a little. Have the comp on 5X3, have not played with it at all. Boost is in the 25-30 range. New to this diesel power stuff. lol Soon to add RV 275's

I frequent this site to see if there is something I just gotta have... and this 1998 2500 caught my eye. Current bid is 4000.. No. I'm not interested, but I was searching 'flatbeds' and this caught my eye! seems a little odd placement of fuel pressure gauge?? supposed to have a fass, ats 3 piece exhaust, ats transmission, and firestone air bags.. then I seen this: My guess is this onboard air compressor is for air bags, and that gauge on the corner of the cab is for the air supply?

Is anyone here running a triple disc torque converter with stock flex plate and stock input? My after market billet single disc torque converter is slipping and I'm upgrading to a triple disc, under warranty . Do I have to worry about snapping or warping under normal driving conditions and light towing?

@Dynamic John, I have the BD flexplate, do I need to reuse the factory steel washer? The directions I got say discard, but BDs new instructions on their website say reuse? Is that washer just used for load distribution? Anyone have any input of that steel washer?

Greetings. New to Forum. New to Cummin's Mods. Would appreciate any help/advice I can get. Patient: Mostly stock 2000, 3500, 4wd, Auto, Raptor f.p, VP44 i.p. Stock breather on timing cover, no breather on tappet cover. 325K but seams to run good, no appreciable smoke. Used 99% highway driving with lots of 5th wheel and trailer hauling. Illness: Massive oil leak from bottom of factory tappet cover. Engine and sub frame coated with so much oil from leaking tappet cover, it is hard to tell if hose from stock breather is dripping much oil or if anything else is leaking. Proposed Treatment: Replacement of tappet cover with billet tappet cover which …

Second seal leaking and thinking that maybe the tin cover is warped. Does anybody have this problem? I hate seal leaks with a passion almost enough to buy a billet cover. Any seal brand names better than others?

You all need to take a look at this... http://relentlessdiesel.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24 I'll let the pictures do the talking. First one is a customer of mine who bought the ~$3000 kit to make biodiesel in his garage. He drives an '03 Common Rail Dodge. He ran BioDiesel exclusively for 6-7 months. He has dual fuel filters on the truck. He quit running it because of the cost of replacing the filters offset the savings in fuel. They constantly plugged up and required changing. The picture is of his Fuel Control Actuator valve we had to replace. This part is a component on the Bosch CP3 injection pump. This is after all filters and heading straight i…
