Dead again! Error codes with 3X key method P1693, P0215, P0521 Innova 3100 Code reader shows nothing.... P0215 shows fuel relay, I checked the PDC with a test light and I have power to the pin labeled 87. The relay showed 80 ohms between 87 and 86. P1693 ECM. P0521 oil pressure switch. The engine will not turn over, all the dash lights goes dead when I try to start, there is a very faint wait to start light . Even with a battery charger set to 80 amp jump mode, there is a huge drain somewhere. The grid heater wires are not getting hot either. I checked the other relays and I saw nothing major. Grid heater relay maybe? …

I took my 2002 HO cummins with the 6 speed manual transmission to the dealer the to have the 3 and 6 cylinder high idle enabled . They said it was to warm to try it but said it was enabled . I've had a chance to test it in -18C, or 0F. Nothing happened after 10 minutes. I called them and they said my remote starter and alarm probably isn't letting it work. Has anyone else ran into this or heard this?

Reading the 4th gear hunting thread, I read that Dave3500 said his truck ran significantly better after he had a Dealer flash the computer(s). Is this something every 24V owner should do? BTW, what exactly is "4th gear hunting?" Is it an auto transmission issue? - djb

I was looking at Genos Garage checking out there auto trans pans. It claims to include trans filter extension, gauge tap, and magnetic drain plug, and up to 4 extra quarts of oil. 270.00. Are they worth it?

Just wondering if you have to put a different filter on if you use a pan thats an inch or so deeper. Working on a little side project Ramcharger and have a nice deep I would swap if I dont need to mod the filter. Thanks Chris

(Shaking my head) Yup. Head gasket blew out again. This time it was a defective gasket. The composite material on the steel plate separated and blew out. Thursday night I gather up my RV and hitched it up and hauled it out to the forest at Smokey Boulder Rd. Came back home the next day I got off work and grabbed The Beast and rolled into town to get fuel. I seen Fire Chief's wife getting diesel fuel. Pulled into Riggins One Stop and parked as I got out I was teasing Matt that was sitting outside smoking a cigarette. I walked over and talled to Melanie about Fire Dept Business. After about 15 minute I walk back over and my truck is leaking. Matt sa…

Hello all so I have been doing a lot of reading and trouble shooting, still no solutions. My truck is defueling itself at 1900 rpm then comes back to 1900rpm sometimes even revs up at 1900 no idea why not throwing any codes . My sensors are buzzing all over the place reading high . Here is what I’ve done. Checked vss and neutral ground,New cam sensor , disconnected pcm to just run on Ecm still problem is there . Then I tested my map sensor with ohms to ecm checks out fine checked apps checks out fine . I’m now thinking ground problem I checked them all and double checked. I was just messing around with ohms and tested my 5v on map to my double connector , the one tha…

I am working on a home made PSG unit and needed to know the min and max absolute timing. So I improvised a degree wheel and blew back into the #1 port with the pump shaft key way centered with the mark on the front of the pump by the seal. I could blow back about 30 deg before and 30 deg after which is +60 and - 60 at the crankshaft. I noticed that the port starts to close up about 3 degrees sooner because of the port hole width. There is also about 1 degree of overlap where two ports are very slightly exposed. I then measured the rotor, slot and ports then did the math and it confirmed my findings. So never try to inject past ~54 degrees either…

I recently installed an Airdog lift pump (Airdog II 4G DF-100) and since then I’ve experienced varying crank times. Prior to the install, the truck would turn over for maybe 0.5 second before firing right up, every time, without fail. And it feels like half a second is generous on the long side. Since the install, crank times vary between the 0.5sec up to 2 seconds. The engine seems to run a bit smoother since the install and no indication of a misfire. The most noticeable impact of the install is varying cranking times. From what I’ve read the symptoms could be due to worn injectors or poor fuel pressure but would love to hear the collective thoughts of the cre…

I've been looking for the MG oil and all I can find is the LE. Does it exist, does it make a difference? It's what's recommend for 24 valve cummins.

My truck slowly started having converter lock/unlock issues after 2.5 years of no issues. I initially removed the stock alternator because it was reading .05mv A/C voltage and that solved the lockup issues I was having. In place of the stock alternator I installed a Nations 180A alternator. Now 2.5 years later my lockup issues have slowly come back and are getting bad at 45-50mph. Today I checked A/C voltage and read .045mv on the meter. I’m wondering if anybody knows the part number for the rectifier/diode bridge to replace the Nations unit?

On my last recent outing With the 5ver hooked up, and pulling some of Colorado’s steeper grades like wolf creek pass that’s 9 miles and 7-9% grade with a couple hairpin switchbacks and no breaks climbing the grade to help with cooling, my trans was creeping up to 250’ before I reached the top, ( the trans temp probe is on the output line side so I am reading the hottest temp possible as it’s just leaving the torque converter) as I was nearly to the top I just kept going and let it cool at the summit, grossing around 19k, everything else was holding its own, but the transmission temps, and having a fresh tranny rebuild I need to try prolong the trans. life the best I can…
