:banghead:Yeah gang... I destroyed my turbo with a wire hose clamp. During my oil change and boost leak fixing I laid my BHAF on the workbench and inadvertently knocked a wire hose clamp in the BHAF from the peg board above. Installed the filter and took a ride. Boost kept getting lower and EGT rising whistle changed big time. Hua?! Went home to find the first pic and the 2 ears of the clamp in the BHAF. The rest of the ring I'm hoping is in the intercooler. :pray:Engine still runs fine... So I need a turbo... First and foremost.I know that S#!7 happens but man this make me sick...

So, when back in my home town on some R&R/family time, I decided to do a simple quick, 5 sec burnout just for kicks and grins... right in front of my folks place just like old times. The turbo began to spool all normal, and BANG, followed by some minor crunchy sounds. No pictures as of yet, but upon removing what used to be the cap on the axle, out fell several one inch triangles of axle, metal chips, and the bearing adjusting nut that formerly held the bearings. Near as I can tell, the axle broke and wedged itself in there and pushed the hub off about a half inch or so, breaking the nut as it came off. The hub won't even come off as the b…

Anyone heard of DFI (Ducky Fuel Injection) out of Arkansas? They have some 100 hp SAC injectors that i'm interested in trying. I have DAP 60s now and they're good, but I wan't a little more and would like to see how SAC injectors will do power and economy wise. DAPs smallest SAC is 125 hp, which might be hot for my current turbo, and my turbo upgrade is going to have to wait till next year, but injectors are budget friendly this fall!

So I've decided on the 4in DE exhaust. I've heard nothing but good things and buying from a local and US made product is always a good thing IMO. A couple questions... When the exhauat says it comes with a "muffler replacement" is that the equivalent of muffler delete? Also I'd rather not use my stock exhaust clamps, what are some good clamps I could get and how many would I need? Thanks in advance!

02 3500 nv5600 2wd quad cab. 233k. I've been as diligent as possible regarding preventative maintenance, but you know how it is, entropy is a ***** and things go wrong. Now getting ready to put down some serious miles - long distance cross country driving soon, multiple times this spring and summer from NJ to Florida towing a haulmark 20ft car trailer (approx 7,000 gvwr). Here is a list of the repairs i've done, as well as some pro-active maint in anticipation of major highway miles. Is there anything else I should do? Thinking I've got the major failure items covered.. Is there anything else that's know to fail on these 2nd gen…

Went on a fairly long trip this morning (600kms) to bring home another Suzuki Samurai and decided to actually calculate the mileage. I ended up getting 17mpgs. Half was empty trailer of course, but I'm pretty happy with those numbers. The trailer is a 16 foot and the Sammy weighs about 2600lbs so the load wasn't real big. I was driving fairly fast too 110km/hr and there was some hilly sections and a bit of wind to fight. That was with the Comp set on 1x5. I had it on 3x5 for a bit but my EGTs seemed to stay above 700 too much. I sure like the 2 stroke oil in the fuel, it does quiet down my engine a lot. Too bad fuel is $1.18 a liter here now. The trip cost me $97 …

Well I thought the truck was running good... It sat last night and most of today and I went to start her and she fired first crank but idle extremely erratic and had a nasty lope and unloaded a mass cloud of white smoke... New injectors went in a week and a half ago and all seemed well until the lift pump failed. I'm thinking the LP took the VP too. Fuel pressure went straight to 20 psi so that's not a issue. Ran the key trick and got P1693 and then -------- and then P Done. checked for codes and found nothing.

Hi guys,Michael, I did your fix for this problem but today it's back. ` I had a very knowledgeable mechanic run the lines & followed the procedure precisely. It has not given me a hint of trouble. That was September of 08. Now it's hunting again. What to do? What was repaired still looks good, as far as connections & such. No, I did not have any codes checked yet,Dave

When I return to new Mexico on fri june 1st I am going to hitch up a trailer to my new to me dodge and tow my Toyota t 100 home to the emerald triangle. So my question is should I have double a em c o do a filter change on my tranny before I leave? The tranny seems fine but I suspect that it has never been done. This is an aautomatic tranny whatever came stock. Should I have them do a ful on flush or should I just drive it home? I just don't want to create problems. Thanks guys.

I'm still pretty new on this site so forgive me if this is repetitive. I have seen many discussion on the web on this topic and I found this report easy for my simple mind to understand. I thought I would share. http://www.jatonkam35s.com/DeuceTechnicalManuals/Diesel_fuel_additive_test.pdf

I have looked this subject of the HHO system over back a few years ago when it started getting more publicity. At the time, I was still in the gasser world and never gave it thought to a diesel. Now that I'm a convert and drive a diesel, I wonder what benefits there may be using this system with a diesel?I can think of a few things that need to be addressed at the beginning:- Hydrogen embrittlement- Low ignition point of hydrogenNow, as far as pre-detonation goes, this may be addressed by my VP44 and the CR's, but I don't think this is an entirely viable thing with the p7100's.Has anyone ever heard of using HHO on a diesel, or let alone run one?

I notice members from Europe and other places joining this site... I've read in the past the the US has higher HFFR ratio than Europe. I understand that is the main reason why many in the US add two stroke oil, to help with lubeing up the VP44. Out of curiosity if you buy fuel out of US how many miles do you get on your vp44. And welcome

Still chasing down the noise I'm hearing. Only have about 100 miles on this oil change. I drained a quart out and will drive it today to see if my oil level rises. Top sample is fresh rotella, bottom sample is from the oil pan. Oil still smells like fresh oil, can't smell diesel.
