Started truck getting ready to go to work. Backed out of garage Turned onto highway went about 100 yards lost all power started missing. Got turned around and started back to house noticed DTC and no fuel pressure. The code was p0216. No time to check anything, jump into the wife car get to work. All day thinking 1500.00 for new vp 44. Remembered no fuel pressure, checked when I got home' put key in turn to on lift pump runs. Bump engine lift pump runs for 20 seconds. Thinking one time thing. Pull onto road lose all power. So start checking wires. Found one rubbing, no break in insulation but taped it and put cover over it. Also changed the relay for the fuel heater/diese…

I installed a raptor on my 2001. I know lots of people say to add a suction filter. BUT! If there is already a filter sock on the pickup in the tank, WHY! another screen. Dodge didn't have an additional filter before the Carter.

I can't seem to find a source that has a conclusive answer to the question, "Does the VP44 completely shut off fueling when truck is coasting in gear on a downgrade?" It would seem to me that the VP44's high pressure solenoid valve would stop receiving signals under this condition if the APPS signal was at 0% (foot off throttle). Does anyone know if this is true with certainty? An example would be: truck with a manual transmission coasting along on a down grade at 1700 rpm with foot off of throttle. - John

I know that sounds like a weird question, but a few years ago my truck developed this weird noise from 40 mph and up. It sounds like its coming from the drivers side wheel. The only way I can describe it is a high pitched flute sound. For a long time I thought it was a wheel bearing but I would bet that if a wheel bearing was that dry it would have destroyed itself after all these years. I am now leaning toward a U-Joint, either in the short shaft or in one of the hubs. Any thoughts from all you Dodge experts? By the way with the super quiet tires installed yesterday I can hear the noise a lot better now. Deric

I've been dealing with ever increasing gear searching. Cleaned both ends of my main battery cables and shazam, all is good. They were not that dirty. Kinda think the connections at the batteries were the problem. And they were not that bad. And so easy to access compared to the ones on the block. I'll probably start cleaning those more often and I'd done one at a time, no having to re-calibrate the TPS. If in doubt, clean your negative cables!

I am finishing up my w-t ground mod. I have been doing other projects and have forgot. So the 2 wires from the alternator one is the output that I am going to hook up to a circuit breaker and battery. But what is the other wire? Where did it hook up to?

I am going to at least begin this mod today. I just received my 150amp breaker yesterday from Amazon, I'll still need to pick up an online fuse holder for the pcm as well. I do have a couple of quick questions. 1. What size fuse for the PCM? I read both 7.5amp and 5amp. 2. I read that the ac noise would affect cruise control somehow on a manual truck. I haven't used my cruise much, just wondering how it affects this? Any other things it could mess with? I will take ac noise readings before and after to see how this works out and report back when finished.

Is there a way to adjust timer for dome light? When I use remote to open doors dome light will be on for about a minute and there is no way to shut it off, unless I push lock button on key pad. Sometimes leaving store parking lots is annoying because I can't see where I'm going from light reflection. Plus every one outside stares at you . It may be the way it is but I hope there is a way to change it. Lets say when I get in a truck and shut the door lights should shut off, but the only time that works if I use a key to get in, or don't luck the truck at all. Thanks for any input.

Hey Folks, Just finished installing new set of isspro a pillar gauges last night. I hopped in the truck and started heading down the road. It was night time, my gauges lit up nice adjusted by the dimmer, window was down, couldn't get any better. Until i realized my fuel pressure gauge was only reading 8# at slow cruise and 2# wot. No problem. I suspected that I fouled up the fuel isolater install somehow. So when I got back to the shop I hooked up my handheld gauge and viola! 8# at idle. So this morning I drove to CDA Id. and picked up a new lift pump at alligator diesel. I just finished the install and am getting between 15 and 17 at idle. I am hoping that I caught my la…

https://hartford.craigslist.org/cto/5479831453.html I found a 1500 nv3500 truck, which could be used for a 47re to manual swap, just the interior pieces and hopefully cross member. Are the frames the same on 2nd gens 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton? If I could grab this truck and then just find an nv4500, I think i could be in business. All the people around me want $3500 for a complete swap kit with a used, stock tranny and rusty parts.

Last night I was doing some stuff and had the door open. Got back in, shut the door and the interior cab lights wouldn't turn off. Also didn't hear the dinger either. Ive read up some on the topic but not much resolve. Any ideas? Yes, i checked the rotary dial for gauges, etc. I have been having trouble with my wipers returning to the home position for a while now for over a year. Hoping this doesn't point to a CTM.

Changing my manual mirrors to power, heated, and lighted. I know doors are pre-wired for the power/heated and I've already added the mirror control swtich and the temp control with heated button. My question is if anyone knows if there is lights-on power source inside the door. Looking to avoid running wires through the dash to the light switch.

I have scraped and cleaned. Can't seem to find the elusive needle grease fitting. Were some driveshafts released without them?

So this is my first diesel. I've had it about a year and am getting to know it pretty good, but one thing I've always wondered about is my second overdrive's effectiveness with my high gearing. I've got a Unitrax/Gear Vendor/Laycox divorced overdrive with an auto and 3.55 rear end gears. It all came with the truck when I bought it. I know that when I'm driving in double overdrive it seems to run fine and smooth, but it also runs at pretty low rpm. I think around 1500 at 70. I'm generally on relatively flat freeways, so it doesn't seem to stress the drive train, but I wanted to get any input you guys have on this. Is it hard on the truck? A good thing? It's really nice t…

I'm doing my best to try and get my new turbo installed, started last week and only got things disassembled before I ran out of energy. I got back to it today and am almost done but I was unable to get the down pipe installed. I was hoping it would go right in as I am replacing a DEP pipe(HY35) with another DEP pipe(HX40). It looks like I am gonna have to beat the firewall or the pipe to get it to fit. Should I just take turns hammering on both until it fits?
