I have had weird electrical problems with the truck for years. But never let me down except original vp44 crapped out a year in a half ago and replaced it. My belt snapped in my driveway Recently and I needed to get new battery as well so I decided to inspect clean or replace a few grounds and do a few things on the truck. Battery, 2 new terminals, oil filter change and fuel filter change add a new fp gauge sensor and buy all new fuses for the truck while Inside and out and new tensioner because it was worn out. Did fluids first started truck with old belt ran perfect for a min and belt came off again so i shut it down immediately. then i disconnect batts and started re… -

After everything I have read on the internet I understood that the PCM off my truck had to match not only the make, model, transmission etc but also numbers mine being P56046355. I was sold a PCM by a gentleman who swore up and down that a 2002 would work on my truck. It doesn't work and now I need some help purchasing a PCM. Can this PCM be programmed to fit my truck? Is this gentleman correct when he says he asked his friend who knows all there is to know about Dodge, cummings etc? I need my truck back ASAP and I have let different people tell me different things and at this point I need to know what has to be done to … -

So you all seen my post about being pulled over twice for a failed driver-side tail light? I pulled the entire pigtail out and the bulbs and found a single wire that folded over and broke the wire but the jacket was undamaged. As I gave a small tug on the wire it separated completely. Sadly the wire itself was oxidized pretty badly. The break was within about 1/2 to 5/8 from the plug. I attempted to solder it back together and shrink tube the repair but the wire just refused to accept solder from being oxidized so badly. I opted to use a standard butt splice and seal the ends the best I could and then taped the repair over. Then finally I was cleaning out the… -

So I just recently tapped my vp for the quadzilla and my new Timbo apps threw a cel. Started surging then threw the code. Never had one do this. I suppose Tim wont warranty it once you tap vp. I just hope its not related to tap. Set it to zero on the Iquad I guess its off. -

Hello, im currently installing my draw straw and i cut a hole in the tank where i thought it would fit, but it turns out the fittings don't have room to clear when the housing is pushed down all the way. How would i remedy this? should i put a 45 degree fitting on one side? or maybe cut another hole somewhere on the tank and somehow fix the hole i cut already? interested where everyone else has put there straws. Thx im in a bit of a pinch right now so all help is appreciated. -

Hello, I just joined this site after my searching has brought me here several times. I’ve read a few of the write ups by mopar1973man. I decided I could really benefit and hopefully contribute to the wealth of knowledge here! I have had this 01’ 24 valve since 08’ she’s been worked hard and now the 2nd vp44 has bit the dust at 250k miles. I have a 93’ 12 valve engine(ve pump) with only 78k miles just begging to go to work. It has 3k gov. spring, fuel pin/afc mods, 5x.012 injectors, and he351 turbo. The 01’ is an auto, 47RE ATS stage 5. So I’ve been reading up on the sensors, communications, between the ecm, pcm trying to figure out the logistics of this swap. I’ve done s… -

02 3500 6 speed HO. 252k miles. Still has factory injectors & HX35W turbo, etc. No tuning mods (Yet. Maybe quadzilla and DAP 100hp 7X0.009 VCO injectors in the near future) Anyhow, my questions is this: I added a boost elbow recently. How much boost gain can I expect by adding a boost elbow? I was getting 22 psi before installing boost elbow. After installing went up to about 24 psi max. Is that to be expected? Or is there a possibility my waste gate is not fully closing? Figured I'd get some feedback from you guys before I start taking things apart. What comes first, chicken or egg? Does the fueling increase relative to boost increase? Or does t… -

Hi Folks. I am looking for some direction with my no bus issue. I did a cab swap on my 02 2500 4x4 24 valve automatic trans. I just bought the truck and did notice the fuel gauge was acting up before hand but didnt notice anything else but then again I bought it as a project and got right to work. After I got it back together, I would get a few gauges acting up and every 3rd or 4th keystart, I would get a no bus message. Here is what I have now pretty much with every keystart - No Bus message, Alternator not charging, None of the gauges are working, Starts off in 2nd gear - Limp Mode?, no communication with code readers, O/D off selector not working, dash warning lights… -

So I've ordered new air horn gaskets from Geno's, didn't have them when installing the new vp44... I THINK I hear an air leak... would I get similar smoke if one of my inter-cooler boots was split? -

Hey guys so this pretty much all happened about a year ago, I was cruising home ( nothing crazy) when all of the sudden the truck started surging and gaining MPH/RPM. Limped it home it would just randomly spike RPM to redline sporadically and come down to idle. changed fuel filter and seperator (FASS) and found my FASS had a popped fuse, fixed that. 16 PSI of fuel pressure, no CEL and issue still occured. Put a scan tool on it and the scope showed spike in voltage on ECM, APPS, and VP while the RPM jump was happening. Im leaning towards replacing the ECM. The truck has been off the road for nearly a year now from this and really want to get it back running. Has anyone run… -

Anyone else experience a loosening of fuel injector lines over time? I just started to smell some diesel fuel in/around the cabin and checked the lines to the head and saw some droplets around the injectors on the intake plate. Checked the tightness of some of the injectors and some weren't snugged all the way. I can only think they've loosened up over time due to general engine vibration but surprised that they did. Is there even a reqd torque spec on these? Thought they just had to be good and snug. Thanks Mark -

Hey guys, A little info: 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 extended cab 4X4, 121,000 original miles, 78,000 when i bough it. Hey guys, I recently used my truck to haul my camper to Florida and it was bucking a little bit under a hard pull, it did not throw a CEL but I put my smarty on it and it threw a P0236 MAP sensor Too High Too Long, and P0602 ECM Fueling Calibration at first i thought it may the MAP sensor, as I have never changed it or had any problems with it, but then my oil gauge started acting up, it would show oil pressure and then drop to nothing and check gauges light would come on. So I changed the MAP sensor and the oil Sensor both out, and cleare… -

I have been running either 2 stroke or OptiLube in my rig. I have a 50 mile round trip work commute at highway speeds (65mph) and I almost always have some "diesel rattle", sometimes more noticeable than not. Yesterday I forgot to get some additive out of the garage so when I filled up, I had nothing to add to the tank so I pumped 30 gals of B20. I noticed within about 25 minutes, a huge decrease in engine noise. And again this morning on the way to work, it was so much quieter. I can't believe bio does a better job at lubrication/noise reduction than 2 stroke does. Has anyone else noticed this? Is long term bio use aok? Any advantage to bio and something like Optilube co… -

Hi, Currently I'm dealing with a misfire when hot. Mostly noticeable at idle, lower rpm and slower speeds. It will also make a crackling sound when driving at low rpm. It often hunts for the right idle rpm if I let off the throttle. If I snap the throttle, there's a delay of like 1 second and then it will blow some white smoke like the timing is off. When I go to take off, if I push the throttle too fast at low rpm, there's like a short flat spot in the apps where the truck runs weird and crackles almost like it's choking out. I have tested and replaced almost all of the fuel related components including injectors 4 times, the pump, and all the sensors … -

Ok this is my first time posting here so if I'm missing something please let me know. I'm relatively new to the diesel world but have read multiple posts on here as well as other sites about replacing a head gasket. My first question is do you need to resurface the block in addition to the head when doing a hg replacement on these 24v cummins? Also Is it common for the head to be cracked at 200k This is my dd and I noticed that I am leaking oil right where the head and block meet. I cleaned it up and drove it some more and it definitely looks like it is leaking from the head gasket. I would need to replace it during a weekend and … -
