Another project I've been working on. Last week running the Cummins it would come to a idle and lightly misfire for a very randomly. Out of respect for Eric at Vulcan Performance I didn't want to post this till I found a solution or it was resolved. But I pull them all the injectors out, inspected them and didn't see any thing wrong with them so I assembled them back into the head. Still had the misfire with a warm engine. So I pull them back out and contacted Eric and sent them in to be inspected by him. As far as what I was told by Eric there was nothing wrong with the injectors and popped tested fine. So I got them back today and made sure to clean all the tips of the …

Need an ECM repaired. I looked at Pepsi's Chart. Think I will pass on Auto Computer Specialist. So moving down the list, has anyone dealt with dieselsystemservices? If so, I'd like to hear about it. Thanks. Leaky

Can someone tell me what the functions of the PCM are for a 2001 Ram 2500 4x4 automatic? I recently had the transmission rebuilt and the ECM replaced but the transmission seems to be slipping at 75-85 mph. I was told by the guy that replaced the ECM and programmed it that it’s a PCM issue but when I called trying to find someone to replace or repair my PCM they are telling me it is an ECM issue. All of my gauges seem to be working fine but my heated seat buttons on the dash light up when I crank the truck and they will flash for a while and then the hi light on the drivers side stays on all the time. The heated seats haven’t worked in a couple of years. The only issue tha…

Hello, So I went to run an errand with my 01 earlier after washing it and it fell on its face while driving down my street. Had a random speed sensor code that I cleared, but it wouldn't shut off even with the key pulled. I'm assuming it's the VP but I'm trying to find different opinions on the matter. I let it sit for 30 minutes and started it back up no problem. Everything came back to life. Turned it off again and re started it 20 minutes later and everything is fine. The pump is barely 2 years old and I'm reading 15 psi on my FASS. Any help would be appreciated.

Currently I have a stock 47re trans as far as my knowledge ( Previous owner had it rebuild but no records of the work done). End goal is to take the truck to 300 - 350hp and cap it. I want to build a reliable towing trans out of what I have and eventually look at a GearVendor gear splitter if I ever get around to it. As it stands now though, its a completely stock motor and trans combo that all works like it should but I want to try to get ahead of the ball on doing the preventative maintenance on it. I'd like to know what I will have to get swapped out and recommendations on what to get. I'd rather overkill the trans than it give out on my 1000+ mile road trips with the …

I have a homemade compound setup that has supply lines but does not have return lines as of yet. I was planning on using another oil drain of some sort. Either factory or aftermarket that pops into rear freeze plug port. But, what size is the hose for the factory turbo drain? I’m asking cause I don’t have any extra return hose laying around to measure “ID” So I can just order a bulk piece and cut to length. 5/8, 3/4, 7/8?

I installed a fass 100gph a few months ago and its been putting a steady 19 psi at idle and 17 at wot, and for the longest time now ive wanted to remove my stock fuel filter housing and lift pump. So i got to removing the housing and that all went well as did removing the stock lift pump. I left the bracket in plate to support the ecm wires, but i was just wondering what i do with the WIF and Fuel heater wiring. Can i just leave them unplugged without touching anything else (and tape them up) or is there a fuse or something i need to remove so i dont light the truck on fire because of the unplugged fuel heater plug? Please help, need to know asap ?

My 1999 2500 engine is surging while driving down the road. I recalibrated the APPS, which seemed to help, but 5 days later it is doing it again. Is the APPS going out or is there something else going on?

I'm not to sure where to place this post as it deals with a company which many of us have dealt with in the past. I've attached my Google review of Auto Computer Specialist (ACS) below as I feel our community needs to know about how terrible the customer service is with these people. I'm not sure if there was a recent change in ownership or management but it has been beyond childish. To the point they are claiming via google reviews I was never a customer and must be mistaken. See attached photos, I have also posted in my original review. All I wanted to do was speak with the owners about the professionalism of Dominic who is the front desk person at ACS. If …

Hello, I’ve been trying to chase this rough idle issue for weeks now. My truck is a 1999 2500 with an s362, edge juice with attitude, bd 3 piece exhaust manifold, 200hp injectors (don’t know the brand, of size of holes or how many of them). I have other non power train parts but those are the ones that I can think of off the top of my head. My issue started after I put in 200hp injectors used that I bought from a reputable person and I did not get them pop tested unfortunately. I properly bled the fuel system and it started right up. I noticed immediately that it had a rough idle and stutter that was really mild that you really had to listen for. You could hear …

Need some help, I just put a boost gauge in the truck and I noticed it’s only making 5-10psi. The RPMs are near 2k to hit 10 psi. The turbo sounds like it’s spooling like it should, I checked for boost leaks but I couldn’t find anything out of the ordinary. I know these trucks aren’t meant to be fast but it shouldn’t be as slow as it is now.

This morning the wife took her truck to drop off some cayacks to my daughter and she is gone for about 10 minutes and she come back telling me there is white smoke coming from the exhaust. I got take a look, start the engine and sure enough a notable plume of white smoke (steam) is coming from the exhaust just idling. I immediately turn the engine off, pop the hood and open the oil filler cap and the crank case is pressurized slightly as I can hear the pressure escape when I removed the cap. (I think this is a secondary issue of mud daubers clogging up the crankcase vent tube as the truck sets 97% of the time) I pull the dip stick and there does not appear to be evide…

Ok, so I recently bought a 99 24 valve Cummins. When we purchased it, it needed front brakes rotors and calipers. Also, the rear axle seals were leaking so we change those and the rear drum brakes and drums. When we got all done putting the brakes on front and back, we bled the system properly. When we took it out for a test drive, the brakes were extremely spongy and I could press them almost all the way down to the floor. After doing some research, we ended up replacing the master cylinder. That did not fix the issue, so we also replaced the hydro booster. After bleeding both the power steering and the brake system, we took it out for another test run. At firs…

I popped my hood recently and found the vacuum line that runs from the firewall to the vacuum pump just laying there...still attached only to the firewall fitting that I previously replaced. On closer inspection of the vacuum pump side where it is supposed to be connected I found that the rubber 90° elbow that receives it has now degraded to the point of failure. I've been looking online for a replacement rubber elbow but can't find anything specific to my truck...only come across HELP kits with several generics and ones that specifically fit Volvos and Mercedes. They all look like they might work OK but can't be sure. I'd really rather have the exact repl…

I would like recommendations for some upgrades. Now that I have my quadzilla and the exhaust fell apart yesterday, I would like to upgrade everything from the tailpipe to and including the turbo. Plans include pulling the occasional 10k pound trailer (rare) and my daily driver. I do NOT want a loud exhaust at idle or old-man cruising. Budget for turbo and exhaust is in the $1500 range, though less is better! 409SS exhaust preferred due to lots of salty roads where I live. Currently have HY35. Stock injectors, am certainly interested in some upgrades nozzles in the future - like around Christmas time.

I know most people run pennzoil, amsoil, or redline. I’ve ran royal purple for the past few years but I decided to give the valvoline brand a shot. The part numbers for mopar are on the bottle. Been driving for 8k so far and been good with daily driving and towing, trans temp seems be run the same as royal purple. Shifts smooth. Don’t know how it compares in the cold yet, but I don’t think it’ll be a problem.

Okay so I purchased this 2001 6 speed in January. Well first week of March it caught in fire. Don’t know the cause of it. Engine related. I replaced every single sensor with a 2002 parts truck I had. Replaced both ecm and pcm wiring with the ecm and pcm off of that 2002 into my 01 to make sure everything would be happy. So I have a complete 2002 engine bay in my 01 electronics wise. I have a NO BUS on my cluster after the mileage flashes 3-4 times. I have unplugged the firewall plugs and wiped them off. I have unplugged the pcm connectors and wiped them off. I have even gotten another 2002 ecm and plugged it in with same results. I have also tried the 2001 pcm with the sa…
