I do alot of mechanic work and trail riding so when i get ready to go home i put a sheet over all seats for everyone to ride, I would like to wipe them off and next day get in with dress cloths. Dose anyone have any recommended sites or ideas?

My truck has been down for a while now. Truck is a 2001 2500 HO 6-speed. Cranks but no start. Not getting fuel past the injector pump. Had a code for the lift pump but, fuel pressure is good at 17 or so psi and lift pump runs as it should. It's the frame mounted walbro pump. I'd have done the pump by now except, with my snap on scanner plugged in, the data screen shows the injector pump fuel shut off not switching to on. After I crank the motor it will switch to on for a second and then back to off. I have checked electrical connections and grounds. Could it be an ECM problem or am I just over thinking. I hate to change out parts just on a guess. Thanks for any help you c…

I ordered towing mirrors off amazon last year. Got them in and installed them, I hook them up and tested both sides before putting everything back together. Both worked, Installed them, Passenger side still worked, but driver side didn't. Emailed company they sent out another set, error happened and I got 1 correct and 1 for a 2010+ sized mirror. Emailed them they sent out another set and they were correct. months go by and I didn't have the need to change the mirrors out as i already had them adjusted to where i needed them(folded down) I did some trading with a friend and traded him the mirrors that were messed up for a leveling kit and some cash. We took old ones off a…

So I have finally brought my truck home a couple days ago, its taken almost 2 weeks since I have bought the truck!!! I have a list to follow and repair items, junk yard items to look for ect. Today Im starting off with the Drivers side door latch, THIS IS THE WORST I'VE SEEN. and yes that would be JB weld. WHY? No idea, but I can confirm it will not fix this apparently. I also have rust at the base of the seats, it looks like the vapor barrier was off the drivers side door for a long time. The panel was not attached when I got the truck, and the previous owner said he did not remove the barrier. S…

Hey guys, So I have a few questions for those who have experience with the Scangauge 2. I have had mine since Christmas and I really like it, but I'm having a really hard time getting the fuel usage features calibrated. The first issue was I had a Smarty. So I sold that and got an Edge comp, but its still taking FOREVER to get it to be accurate. Its still about 4.5 mpgs high on the average mpgs. I did notice something I think is really odd though. At idle, it is showing some minor fuel usage, between about .06 and .2 gph. It is reading 0 mpgs at idle though so thats good. Heres the even weirder part, I can be cruising along and if I let off the go pedal some, it will…

Anyone recommend any good rear seat covers that will hold up for dogs for 2nd Gens? Lots of choices out there. Curious on the best fit given that there's no head rests for the 2nd Gen rear seats to strap the covers down. Cheers, Mark

Guys, My Spanish it terrible, but I found this video very informative on how the VP mechanically works on our engines. I wonder who developed this (it looks like bosch, or someone did a really nice job of making solids of everything.) and why there is not an English version. I think most of you will like it. Hag

So, Ive gone through most of the threads I could find online, and I'm still a little unsure of how to do this...was hoping for some clarification. My engine control fuse keeps blowing, as long as the ASD relay is in. As soon as I pull the ASD relay, the engine control fuse doesn't blow...although I'm assuming that is because of the wiring. Without having looked at a diagram yet, I don't know which is in line first. However, the only symptom I seem to have so far is that my alternator won't charge. This is on a 96 12v, but the wiring harness is a frankenstein conglomeration of a 96, 98, and 2000 gas harness, so tracing it through is going to be nigh on impossible. I do …

I can't seem to figure this one out. I was having trouble with my brake light switch, got that replaced and working. Now i don't have high beams, cruise control, or day time running lights (Canadian). I have replaced the DRL module and have confirmed that my P/brake switch is working properly but can't think of where to go from here. I have followed the wiring schematics and still can't find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since I was waiting for my tuner to come back, I decided to tackle another issue that's bugged me: the hvac system. I about froze my toes off on the way back from North Dakota a few weeks ago, as I had no floor heat or defrost. Only worked on max a/c. I decided to pull the box and open it up. I wasn't paying attention when I split the case, and the top half came off suddenly, causing the bottom to fall and break the little door with the spring flap on it. I've tried unsuccessfully to epoxy and plastic weld it back together, but it always snaps. I've seen replacements online, but no way in hell am I paying $325 for a set of aluminum doors. So has anyone come ac…

I have been told by others on a different site to dump my K&N air filter and go back to a paper media filter as they are better. Anyone know if this is true? I have a 2001 Dodge Cummins Quad Cab 4x4. Thanks

Well after 500k+ my power steering pump has started leaking. The steering and the brakes work fine, just loosing the fluid somewhere. Any body ever reseal their pump? The kits are cheap but they dont come with any bearings and I have to assume there some bearings in there some where. I can get new replacement for a 150 bucks, just cant decide which way to go.

Couple days ago, we posted back and forth on the merits of moving up to the 19,5 inch rims/tires. I just talked to my neighbor, who's worked on these from time to time. He's a little concerned that the bead area on these tires aren't real 'ruff country' friendly. ie: It doesn't take much of a side-shot to push the tire off the seal.. frozen ruts, branches, etc. The older rims he's worked with really didn't have much of a lip, it was more like a taper, ending in a small little raised lip. which made it really hard to 'seat' the tire.. and when it's time to dismount, shoot, just let the air out and it w…

Hey,I had a quick question. My brake light by my dash gauges has been coming on and off frequently since I have owned the truck. My seatbelt light will stay on sometimes also even if both are buckled up. Just those 2 lights. The previous owner said they came on and he never could figure out why. Neither can I. I have had no problems with my brake pads, lines, or fluid. Always full and new pads and light still comes on. I am starting to think it may not have anything to do with the brakes. Maybe electrical? wiring? etc? Does anybody have any wise input on this or ever experienced this? Thank you.

I found a part store manager that was really cool. He admitted that the new power steering pumps are not holding up good. Being all I was looking for is the reservoir seal he was nice enough to order a new pump and pull the seal off the pump and give it to me. Really cool guy. Now as for replacing that seal you can replace the seal without pulling the pump. I removed the 2 return lines and the pressure lines. Then there is two 18mm head bolts and then a 27mm fitting that your pressure hose screws into. Very carefully just bump the reservoir and it will slide off the pump. My seal was cooked hard. It broke instantly. I lightly greased the new seal and slipped i…

So there are 2 ways to adjust the door as far as I can tell and neither of them seem to "adjust" because of this one non-adjustable bolt. Here are pics of the mounts on the door and the cowl and the circled bolt is set, it can't be adjusted as far as I can tell. I thought maybe the slots would pivot around that bolt or something but they are slotted to where they go towards or away from that red circled non adjustable bolt, so it can't move around in the slots because of that. So how are you supposed to adjust them?
