  1. Hey y'all, long time no see. Having been Ram-less for about two years, I could hardly live with myself anymore so I caved in and went ahead and picked up a '99 2500 today. It has some issues, two of which are the warning lights for the parking brake, or brakes? They're to the left of the seatbelt light in the instrument cluster. I've tried some googling, but getting few answers. I don't really know where to begin with this, I've checked the switch for the parking brake underneath the dashboard. Unplugged it, but it made no difference. Since I'm based in Norway, the chances of finding someone with an actual Dodge scan tool that will read anything other th…

I my drive my truck once a week or so, it's sat for over a week. Wife needed the car so I checked the oil, found a family of mice on the engine. Killed three of them, rest go away. The light for the cruise never came on when I pushed the button and I tried a number of times when driving. Even thought maybe the light was burned out, but shrill no go. Removed the cruise switches last night and with the key on there is no power to any of the wires. Checked the fuses in the cab and under the hood, all fuses are good. Never did find out whic fuse the cruise gets its power from. The only thing I can think of is the mice chewed of a wire, but I haven't found any.

  5. Has anyone pulled their lighter or power port? The FSM says there are 2 tabs in them you depress with snap ring pliers from the inside. I seem to feel something like that in there, but have not been successful in removing either of them. All I have done is booger them up.

So glad i found this wealth of information, I am already finding it useful. My experience with Mopar is via a 96 Cherokee with a HO and ax15, its reliability is what led me to buy my... 2002 Ram 2500 5.9 HO 6 speed. I originally noticed a slight hiccup in 5th-6th gear, but nothing substantial as i don't run it hard. On Christmas eve while driving home i noticed the hiccup tried to gain speed and the issues started. Drive home was very rough and the pedal was in and out. Codes given were P0122 & P0236. I changed the Fuel and water filters. I also changed the APPS sensor. The codes still exist. I f…

Sorry I haven't been here in a while but since I have no real expertise and haven't been having any problems... Anyway, Now I have a problem. By the way, I keep trying to make a donation but it keeps failing. So, my issue is that my power door locks will not lock. Not with the fob, not with the button, not when it's put into gear, nothing. However, it unlocks as advertised, i.e., with fob, when put into park, and with the passenger unlock button, not the driver's. So, I replaced both driver's and passenger's switches (located on each respective door arm rest). Has anyone had any experience with this issue? Thanks for any help you can give.

I haven't been driving my truck for a long time, but went to the lake and the steering just seems heavy. It always was if you ask me but even worse now. Considering changing the PS pump. Anybody care to chime in? I would hate to change it and not get an improvement.

Blew a water pump. I think the antifreeze caused the alternator belt to slip. Check gauges light came on. Voltmeter went to 0. I was surprised as most voltmeters are reading entire system voltage and batteries are still up. Does the dodge voltmeter just read alternator out put? On a related subject. I only get 50,000 miles on NAPA new water pumps. This truck and my older 1st gen also. Is that typical pump life for these pumps?

im assuming these truck have a 4x4 light since the CAD on the front has a switch to activate the light. But I've looked all over the dash and never see a light on whenever it's in 4x4, It works fine also. I also know the switch works cause I needed to test something in my 95 1500 the other day. Can anyone take picture of there dash with the 4x4 light or tell me where is should be, I'm thinking the light is burnt out but no clue where it is. thanks!

Hey, so I'm new to the forum, so I'll apologize in advance if this post is a potential repeat...... I have a 2002 Ram 2500, and a while back it started blowing air only from the defrost and floor vents, nothing from the dash. I've located the issue, which is a plastic lever that connects the vent blending door to the actuator. The problem is that it's a discontinued part, and I'm struggling to locate one. Does anyone know where i can find OEM parts? Near as i can tell from the exploded HVAC drawings, the part number is #04720348.

The compressor is fine blows cold its the clutch that is squeaking and its 10 years old so I decided to replace. When adding oil should I measure what comes out and fill new compressor to that level? The compressor calls for 6.4 oz.

On my 2002 2500 there's a couple things I can't seem to figure out what there for. First is under the cowl piece where the wipers fasten on, on the passenger side there is a black rectangular shape box with what appears to be some type of very small hose coming off it, like a vacuum hose. Mines never been hooked to anything and i'm wondering what it's for :shrug:Second, on the headlight wiring harness I have a plug for my headlight bulb, a plug socket for my signal turn bulb and there's another plug connector there not being used...anyone poosibly know what that's for

So ive noticed the past 2 summers this occuring.i start the truck and its hot outside, i turn the ac on max setting and when it kicks in it sounds like the compressor clutch explodes and the engine surges badly. after that its fine until the truck sits for a while and it all cools down.in the winter it doesnt do this.when i have the ac on before i turn the engine over it doesnt do this as its already engaged...ill check the pressure the pressures this weekend to ensure its not overfilled, not sure if the clutch pack is worn out causing the extreme engagement after engine is running.all the while the ac is nice and cold, its just the clutch on the compressor hammers into a…

Here you go AH64ID. So there are many variables of fuels that make them unique. The way they are measured that determines their quality is also different. For instance, diesel uses cetane and gasoline uses octane. The way cetane works and the way octane works are very different. The way gasoline ignites and the way diesel ignites is also very different. How the fuel acts and burns determines the kind of engine they are used in. There is a reason diesel/biodiesel/oils are used in a compression engine and why propane/gasoline are used in spark ignition engines. This thread will be meant to explain the differences and how the different ratings of fuels work, why they…
