I know this is kind of silly, but Im looking for the rubber plug that goes into the rear bumper where the tow ball goes through (the Center of the 3 holes). its a 1" hole that is pretty much straight down so a normal plug will not fit. The part that goes down into the hole has to be kind of long to wedge into the hole. I have probably spent entirely too much time searching through amazon, McMaster, Grainger, etc. trying to find a Plug/Grommet/etc, to go into this hole. Its just ugly w/o it....... LOL. Any suggestions on where I can find this? thanks Bob

I found this article here about the Aux input, but it has me a bit confused.... when I look @ these pictures, the radio that is being modified looks exactly like mine, so Im assuming that its the same one as the only other one I have seen is a single height radio, not like the one in the article above. Also the article mentions, " I did see a write-up on here for the Infinity system, but not the cd/cassette Chrysler radio". This has me confused. I have had the door panels off of my truck & it does have the infinity speakers in the doors with the Amps bolted to them. I assumed that this meant that the radio is also an infinity as we…

  5. The truck I bought has a 6" lift. I think the front is ok, but the rear has huge blocks instead of springs. I don't like it. Any recommendations? Links to the right springs would be appreciated. Thanks!

All I seem to be having the common problem of my ABS and Brake light on my dash being on, so I am following the document below, and it seems that my 4WD light does not come on when I shift into 4WD (been like this for a while though), so I replaced the switch last night. The truck will still go into 4WD with front tires pulling, but the light still does not come on. I did test the switch and the 4WD light will come on when I have the wire harness connected and I use my fingers to hold the switch down, but not when the switch is mounted in the axle. With this being said is this a different issue and I still may have a bad ABS sensor? Any insight on further …

  7. So I bought an 02 24v knowing it needed some work and drove 40 miles home, then realized it needed a new map sensor because it was in limp mode so replaced the sensor and everything was running fine. The drivers side fender was heavily rusted out and needed replaced, so took the old fender off and took about a month before we could find another fender. Went to install new fender and reattached everything including grounds, went to hook battery's up and the truck went into start mode without the key in the ignition and actually tried to start. Any ideas on what this could be?

Question my fuse holder in engine compartment has place for abs fuse, but only one spade other side missing spade? Was it broke off? or do i not need fuse? 10. I ordered towing mirrors off amazon last year. Got them in and installed them, I hook them up and tested both sides before putting everything back together. Both worked, Installed them, Passenger side still worked, but driver side didn't. Emailed company they sent out another set, error happened and I got 1 correct and 1 for a 2010+ sized mirror. Emailed them they sent out another set and they were correct. months go by and I didn't have the need to change the mirrors out as i already had them adjusted to where i needed them(folded down) I did some trading with a friend and traded him the mirrors that were messed up for a leveling kit and some cash. We took old ones off a…

  12. I know I know, I have alot of posts on different subjects but I want to get everything lined out of this truck. I still haven't messed with the oil pan gasket and I need a front timing cover and tappet cover gasket aswell. I am curious of how to wire up a relay for the headlights on my 1998 dodge. Its not a sport model it originally had the 9004 lights in it but recently got some aftermarket cleared lens with projector. It has a dual beam setup but still uses the 9004 plug. Works great! I am gunna do the high low mod and have both on at once by using the wire splice under the steering wheel and want to take load of switch aswell so I want to add a relay to driver and pass…

Just hit 490,000kms on the 2001 ram an still running strong. Its my daily driver/work truck. Do some average hauling(5K-8K Lbs) from time to time. I know thats not an extreme amount of kms an the truck is under worked a lot( getting groceries, sunday cruises, ect!) lol. Just curious how many kms/miles everyone has on there trucks. Average mpg is 24.6, mix of town an hwy driving (no load)

  16. I gave up at 335k miles. I was notcing more cupping of the shoulders of the tires from a possible toe issue (slack in the tie rod ends). I got me the part tonight and tomorrow I'll be installing fresh steering parts under the front of the truck. Funny part is it still steers tight and straight its the cupping of the shoulders of the tires that's bugging me. 335k miles I'm sure there is a bit a slack in the tie rod ends and could be toeing in on itself creating the issue on the tires.

I took my vacuum pump & power steering pump off as a unit to seal the PS pump reservoir leak. The oil line is leaking where it connects to the vac pump. There is a threaded piece that screws into the pump itself then the oil line connects to that piece. I put oil resistant piece on the threads that screw into the pump. It looks like the leak is where the nut for the oil line threads onto that piece. Am I missing an o-ring or something? It looks like it is supposed to be a mechanical seal with metal surface to metal surface but is is a large leak. Removing the line and making sure everything was clean didn't help. Any ideas on how to stop it?

Anyone order tires online and have them shipped to your house? Down sides? Pep boys has a sale and I can probably save close to $200 after all is said and done, online purchase only. There is a store 45 minutes from my house so I could drive there if I have issues with the tires. Or should I just go to my local guy who is 5 minutes from my house? Pep boys has Cooper A/Ts or I go local and get Dynapro ATMs, both 265/70/17
