My headlights aren't quite cutting it for me anymore. I had a similar issue with my 2000 V10's headlights, they just don't put out much light. Our 05 Silverado low beams are equivilent to my trucks high beams, especially in the rain. I am planning on picking up some "smoked" housings to go along with my all black and white color scheme. I was wondering if the brightness problems lie solely on the bulbs used, or will an aftermarket light put out much better brightness? Link to kit I am looking at: http://www.ebay.com/itm/94-01-DODGE-RAM-SMOKED-LENS-HEADLIGHTS-LAMP-ASSEMBLY-96-/220806310939 If it is a bulb issue alone, I have no problem buying this kit and then swapping so…

After having to dig through my truck attempting to fix the dome light and the power mirrors. I noticed the light socket was rather burned not melted but that darker burn mark from the heat of the old-school bulbs. I went out to superbrightleds.com and ordered me a new dome light blub and a pair of map light bulbs being winter is coming, daylight saving time will go away and it will be dark in the cab for morning and evening travel. It would be nice to have a bit more light and without burning up the sockets. https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/miniature-wedge-base/921-led-bulb-15-smd-led-tower-miniature-wedge-retrofit-car/910/11267/ https://w…

  3. Ok, I've had a this issue before but very random and not very often at all. Yesterday I was on the highway at 60-70 mph and hit a bridge transition and it went nuts! Again less than a mile or two later. With traffic behind me I had to smash the brakes down to 25mph to get it to stop. Luckily no one rear ended me! I absolutely have to get this sorted out! I replaced the track bar approximately a year to year and a half ago. It was a lower priced one from Rock Auto. I have replaced the left outer tie rod as well. I have read that the track bar is usually to blame but I want to be 100% sure it is fixed for good this time. Any advise or guidance here wou…

Ok guys this is starting to drive me nuts. When I use the keyless remote to unlock my truck it occasionally sets the alarm off (3 long honks). It doesn't do it all the time but of course usually at 6:30 am when I'm going to work. It's not like the short honk when locking it but 3 long ones. Has anyone experienced this or know why? I thought it might be the remote but it does it with both of them. I have taken the remote apart and put tape over the contacts for the panic button to disable that and it still happens. Not happening all the time is what has me baffled. Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thx D

I didn't know where else to put this so, this is as close as i get it to the topic. I was reading through the code list thread and for testing it says "With DRBIII Scan Tool". How do i get my hands on such an expensive tool like that when they are priced over what i can afford? Are there other scan tools like this one that maybe Snap-On, Matco, or Mac Tools has?I'd really like to get my hands on one of these and have been wanting one for a while now. Thanks,Dave

Its time for dash repair on my rust bucket. 2001 2500. LMC, Genos, Ebay, or Amazon? Whos fits best? Best made? Don't really care about color because I'll paint it. I'm really looking at the fiberglass one from Amazon. Some say fits good, others not so good but glass seems better than plastic to me. Don't know how to add a link so pic will have to do. Thanks for any advice you can give. Happy New Year everyone.

I'm due for a radiator flush My water is hard and full of calcium so I will be buying gallons of distilled water and full strength coolant . My manual says 6 gallon capacity so does 3 gallons of antifreeze and 3 gallons of water sound good for a 50/50? Question since I forgot since last time I flushed. Is just draining from the drain at the bottom of the radiator the best way to get most the coolant out? I want to flush it out by keep running fresh water through it, but when I'm done what is the best way to get all my garden hose hard / calcium fresh flush water out before I put my gallons of distilled water and new coolant in ? N…

So if this is wrong section move please. I had a main brake line failure today, thankfully while teaching nephew manual transmission. he was standing on the brake and thankfully caused the fault which would have been very bad had i been at speed. it is the steel main line along driver frame rail leading to the rear brake valve. all rubber lines still look good but im gonna redo ALL brake lines steel and rubber to have a fresh system.

This is a topic I also posted on the Cummins Forum because I have seen a lot of Dodge folks with the same issue I have. This is what I wrote: This is just a heads up for those folks like me who have the inner dash fame core mount deck assembly broken. I have been trying for several months to locate one and found some on eBay but a complete unit may run from $550.00 to $800.00 depending on the salvage yard that is selling it. Getting pieces from one that might be broke or ruined when removing it doesn't fly either. I have offered to pay a good amount for the broke pieces I need to glue back. With all the glues out there now that work excellent on plastic to pla…

  11. Hey folks I got a low voltage code and replaced the TPS APPS with spring etc from Napa. I did not adjust it, tonight I got some cutting out on the highway. I've saw the description for diagnostic on alternator, ECM, etc. My question is should I worry about needing to drive 200 miles tomorrow hauling a light trailer? I have my four year old with me and want to make sure it will likely be annoying not catastrophic. We stopped and I pulled the battery cables and turned the key, reset apps and got no more cutting out the last hour of our drive tonight. Thanks

My fiberglass camper dripped Gelcoat residue all over the hood of my Black 2nd Gen nd won't come out of the paint. So Off I go to get Line X premium applied. Line X dealer wants me to remove the hood but I'm concerned how to remove the hood and not cause a crease when removing. Do you guys remove the front two bolts off first with a temporary board supporting the hood? I can see it maybe lowering just a bit while unbolting and causing a wrinkle. Do you loosen all 4 bolts first while supported and then proceed? Thanks a bunch for any thoughts.

So, as the title says, I had my first experience with the dreaded death wobble early this morning on my way home from work. I was on a rough city street that I've driven many times. Running about 40-45mph and hit a really rough patch then the front end went bat sh*t crazy. I tapped the brakes and slowed her down to about 20 and it stopped. Made it the rest of the way home with no issue. Been doing some searching as to the cause and it seems there are multiple reasons as to why it did this. Most seem to point to the trackbar and/or the bushing. I have checked the tierod end of the bar before and it seemed tight. I'll have to check again to be sure. Any other a…

Looking over the truck for our annual safety inspection I noticed my Spicer ball joints have enough play to make me want to replace them after a hard 12,000 yes 12,000 miles. I thought I was doing well by replacing with the originals with the same thing that served me well. Like some have said over the years Spicer is not what it used to be, or there are different grades. These where in Spicer boxes and looked to be as original as could be. I will never use or recommend another Spicer joint again . I'm going with either NAPA or AC Delco this time. Just an FYI for those who are looking at ball joints

Heater core in the 98 was steaming up the windows and would barely get to 120 over the winter so I need to replace it. I had every intention of replacing it later this year before it got cold out but im going to Colorado for a week at the end of this month and its in the 30's at night with high's in the 50's so im gonna swap it out this week. Ive ordered a TYC core and its supposed to be here Wednesday. The problem i foresee is the dash in this truck has a cover over it and the screws have been covered up. Im pretty sure I need to remove those screws but I dont know their exact location. I think the best way will be to use a small hole saw just above the screw but I need …

My truck is real long. Recently I had a couple of real close calls with *ss *oles I could not see, riding in my blind spots. I see some vehicles with the mirror turn signals but I don't really want to mess with my trailer mirrors.I'm thinking of adding some somewhere... Maybe behind the cab on top of the bed (I don't run a tool box, so that space is available). Or maybe LEDs under the truck, but I'm not sold on that approach yet. I don't like the idea of plugging into trailer socket as I've had corrosion problems leaving my gooseneck extension plugged in. Unfortunately there does not seem to be a T tap made for my truck, nor a place to put one in the harness. I'd …

Gotta toss out a big "Thank You!" to @dieselautopower... Headlights sold by DAP. http://dieselautopower.com/standard-to-sport-edition-headlight-conversion-9402spchl/ Very nice looking headlights. Clear lens and looks very nice on the truck and doesn't look like a euro-truck or something stolen from a UFO. I've still got to adjust the aim of the lights tonight. I guess there is something else to add to my Garage list. https://mopar1973man.com/garage/modification/267-sport-headlight-conversion/
