Anyone know of a place that sells aftermarket or even factory towing wire harnesses for trailer lights, besides the dealership?

I am trying to remove the left [Drivers side] battery tray. I removed the visual nuts and bolts from the battery tray, it wont come out, so I went online for information and they speak of battery tray bolts that are attached from the bottom of the tray which I can not see or feel. My thoughts are to remove the rubber/plastic wheel cover shield on the fender to gain access to the battery tray bolts. The wheel cover is attached with several plastic clips which has to be removed for access. I need to remove the battery box to access the Cruise Control Server and hoses/wiring, Sorry for the long story but I want you to understand what I am doing. If there is an easier way to …

I live in Canada. And because I do I got really tired of plugging in my truck during winter in hopes it’ll warm it up enough for easier cold starts. I recommend everyone running of these. Couple years ago I installed a Webasto coolant heater. I’m sure you all know how they work so I won’t explain it. I run an aftermarket bumper so I mounted the Webasto bracket to the old oem support bracket in the passenger side so keep it close to the engine as possible. I plumbed the water lines to engine via the water pump housing lower outlet (where the trans cooler fitting would have been if it was equipped). The pump is located up by the R/H battery and plumb…

  5. Howdy all, I have been pouring through the sport headlight threads and have a question regarding the specific parts. Seems you can get the complete assembly or just get the headlight without the turn signal and put it in there. Having never pulled the headlights out or seeing a sport, I see the headlight (#4 in parts diagram) sits in the mount panel (#6). Now the questions is, is the mount panel specific to the sport light or is it the same as the non sport, allowing me to just get the headlight and slap it into the current assembly? I haven't been able to find part #'s to compare.

HAS ANYONE HAD THE SIDE CLEARANCE/IDENTIFICATION LIGHTS, INCLUDING TAILGATE STRIP, JUST STOP WORKING? TRIED TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND REPLACE ONE AND NOW NONE OF THEM LIGHT. CANNOT FIND ANY REFERENCE TO A FUSED CIRCUIT FOR THE LITTLE GUYS IN THE FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL. ALL OTHER LIGHTS WORK AS INTENDED, ROOF MARKERS, FRONT AND REAR RUNNING AND HAZARDS. I'M AT A LOSS HERE.

  7. I have found a 1997 quad cab (4door) 1500 like my 02 2nd gen 2500. Will those doors fit my truck? I need a passenger front and rear. Rust is too bad to keep it going.

Does anyone know what size vacuum line it is that runs across the back of the valve cover to the elbow that goes into the firewall. I broke mine in the process of adjusting valves and removing the heater hoses from the heater core. Looking to replace it with a rubber hose possibly. Need to know what size to use to accomplish that. Thanks -

so long ago i replaced the shoes on the rear drums. but for the life of me i just never got them set correctly and they never really held the truck (i always park in gear) ive tried looking and cant find a comprehensive procedure for this so does anyone have a proper drum brake procedure to get them properly adjusted, i know how to replace them and such, just getting the adjusters set correctly then adjust the cable to the pedal (i already messed with it long ago) i will be getting new shoes and doing it over again correctly this time. thanks

I'm ready to pull my whiskers out. I have this rattle in my front end and a shimmy over longer stretches of uneven surfaces and I can't find the source to save my life. I have replaced all 4 BJs, both unit bearings, shocks, pads, rotors, axle u joints, tie rod ends, tires and sway bar links. I had been amassing the parts but being lazy so I just did it all because everything need some level of attn. I did it all myself, double/triple checked my work and the TQ on my bolts. Also my trac-bar is a 3rd gen with the bracket, and it's tight. I need a new direction to look in because my truck feels sloppier and sloppier.

Leaving work today my backup lights decided to turn on for the first time since I've owned the truck and not shut off the entire drive home. I unplugged all the wires from the transmission, pulled the fuse for the backup lights and they still remained on, so I just pulled the bulbs out. After a quick interwebs search it looks as if the neutral safety switch is bad, so I got one coming for tomorrow at the parts store. I could see if the switch was bad the lights not coming on in reverse, which I assume was the reason they never worked before. But what would cause them to come on all of a sudden and not go out even after pulling the fuse?

Posted this in the article comments earlier, but figured I’d get more opinions by starting a new thread. Doing the W-T mod this week, wanted to check in one final time and see if there were any new updates or changes to the mod I should know. I am putting in a new Nations 180 amp alternator too. Any suggestions on best place to mount the 200amp fuse holder for the b+ wire? Did Mike/W-T’s biblical like Paul vs Barnabus disagreement about the parallel cables ever get settled? I don’t want to run 4 giant cables across my radiator, but I really really don’t want a fire, or toasted alternator. Mike still says no need for parallel cables as long as grounds are …

http://articles.mopar1973man.com/general-cummins/35-exterior/76-backup-lights So I was reading this article and was thinking of doing it. I had a few questions. First what did you put the light in? A tractor pod? How does it attach to the axle, and do they sell the holder at napa. Second set of questions is how did you wire in the switch? It was a bit confusing. Thanks --- Update to the previous post... I knew I should of reread it... I see to get the override switch to work you just bridge the reverse switch. so my next question is where is that?

  18. Does anyone have any recommendations for reattactching the rear view mirror mount to the windshield? I just tried Permatex 84101 which is a 5 minute general epoxy and it did not work. Naturally, I made sure both surfaces were extremely clean and grease/oil free. Perhaps someone has had luck with another method/product. Thank You!

Alright, so I was giving this a though and tried to think of where I could get my hands on one ofr the dodge. I fancy the custom bumpers for our trucks and like the thought of being able to have a winch setup and some extra protection while going in the mountains. Looking at some sites, I find that the bumpers are expensive for my liking. even if I can get a winch on them, would I even be able to put a plow on as well? I'm looking at getting a plow in the future as well and would not prefer to have to keep switiching between the two. I'm considering making my own bumpers at this rate... --- Update to the previous post... What, nobody wants to play with…

Kind of late posting this but I've been busy. I finally round filed the old aluminum canopy and got a Lund Roll Up Tonneau Cover. Works excellent. Pulls rather snug and doesn't flap much and kept my dry wall dry.
