I took the truck to work today as I wanted to swing by Harbor freight and get a small crane for the back of my truck. On my way home I managed to smash my passenger side mirror into the driver side mirror of a 2017 F-350. Thankfully the guy was super cool about the whole thing and agreed to let me just buy a new mirror and install it for him. I went through 1Aauto and found his mirror for $400, for comparison the dealer wanted $1800. Unfortunately for me I have the fancy power folding 4th gen style mirrors that you have to buy in pairs for $500. I was hoping maybe I could just replace the glass as the body is still intact but I can see one of the gears has a flat sp…

Hey guys, I'm in a bit of a financial spot and have some death wobble. My traction bar has play at both ends when checking it out however, my issue is that the track bar in there is moog. I didn't put this in there so I'm guessing the previous owner did however, I want to replace it with a Dodge off road track bar but don't have the cash. I was wondering where I could get a stock/oem track bar so that maybe I could use Luke's link later on if I need to to get by. I'm currently in the middle of restoring mine as I drive her daily to school. Unfortunately money is going to be tight for a hot minute while finishing up some very long term school goals so I can teach

Man its been a weird month. Fuel gauge drops to empty comes back for a few days and quits for good. Find out the float wore out enough to slide all the way up the arm and let the arm sink to the bottom. Then had a ticking front on the passenger side come to find out passenger side wheel joint failed and the proceeded to break a clip and push the cap out will pull bushes out. About a month ago my cruise COAST button failed. I found a used switch on Maccari for $15 bucks, and installed it. Then last night figure I would play a bit on my performance tune and found out my wire tap isn't working (boost capped to 33 to 35 PSI). Most likely the tap screw loosen up a bit broke co…

A friend of mine has a 76 Power Wagon. Think of the classic 70's idea of a off road truck.... massive roll bar, KC Daylighters, steel wheels with classic off road tread, home made bumpers that appear to be pipe filled with concrete...... the works I really like the look and strength of the bumpers and I happen to have about 600 feet of drill pipe. I have a warn 12k winch that I would like to fit in as well. I'm also thinking of a platform for ease of access to the hood. Any of you folks that have experienced these, pointers, issues you have had, pictures, or things to avoid? Ideas appreciated.

  7. I installed Led headlights and fog lights the other day along with new housings for both... what a difference the new housings made in the appearance of the truck! My wife said it looks like a brand new truck. When the headlights are on, everything functions as normal. When I pull the switch to engage fog lights, my high beam indicator appears and is very faint. If I hit the high beams the indicator light appears like normal. Any ideas as to whats causing this? Thanks!

Finally getting around to some of the smaller stuff and this one has me stumped. 4x4 works, but the indicator light does not. I’ve checked the switch on the CAD and it works. When I run an instrument cluster check, no light. Advice?

  9. brake light and abs lights are on and no speedo any ideas of the cause?

The overhead was working last time I used the truck. Today it's out. Totallty dark & dead. Does not respond to it's buttons. The interior lights on the overhead & flashing alarm light still works. I pulled the fuses in the driver's side of the dash/door & all 'appear' perfect. I've been reading on line, trying to figure out the wiring. What info I have (check me... you never can be sure) is #11 fuse (10A) is supposed to be the overhead console. I pulled the fuse & inspected it visually. Now that I (think I) know which fuse, I'll check the fuse with a meter & the socket for power... tomorrow in the daylight. Any other suggestions? Thanks,…

My seats are getting in pretty bad shape and I have kept my eyes open for something for replacement. Found these Saturday morning. https://greenville.craigslist.org/pts/d/98-01-dodge-ram-2nd-gen-truck/6281653808.html Just to good to be true. I think I could sell mine for $75 on Craigslist. Any way I called him and sure enough he had sold them. Told me he had another set but I thought he told they were sold also. 2 hours ago I get a phone call from the same guy telling me he was home and had pulled the second set out and cleaned them up and was hoping that i could get there in 30 minutes if I wanted them. Fortunately for me I have friend down his way and he went and …

Ok so I pulled the door panels this morning to replace the door handles as they were old and getting stuck in the up position causing passengers to slam the door without it shutting. As some of you probably could have guessed I broke just about all of the door panel retainers. The stealer ship and most online places want 5-6 bucks apiece...i need 26 so that is not a viable option. Part number is 6505878AA...anyone know of a good replacement, substitution or where I can get them for a better price? I found part number 6503709 that looks like a good replacement and can get 50 each for 6 bucks.

  15. Everything is back together but I have two problems. 1). The blend door is not working, with heat temp turned all the way up, I only Get cool air. I know the little spring loaded door was reinstalled correctly, and the vacuum line that goes through the firewall is connected and working because all air is directed to proper vents and after disconnecting the vac line that goes through the firewall, only the defrost vents work. Which vac line control the blend door? Any ideas?2). My fan only works on highest speed. Thanks guys!Eric

Well this is my first post on here I've commented a few times on the sport headlight conversion but I was wondering if anybody thought it was possible to buy the headlights that were not sport but still had to bulbs and wire it up using the same harness style posted in the sport conversion thread these are the lights I was looking and and was thinkin about running the power wire from the oem harness to the high bean power low bear oem to low beam light and run the grounds through the same as in the picture but I still want to use the relays to take the heat off of the light switch I am fairly good at wiring and just wondering if anybody thinks this would work? Thanks for …

The other night installed a manual temp gauge and was under the dash running the line to the motor. I bumped somthing or somthing happened. I seen my lights flicker on my radio. I then pulled my head light switch out and bam absolutely nothing works. No power at all in my fuse box. Wiring diagrams would be a big help. The harness are shortly to say the keast

I had been running a Vixen air horn setup, consisted of the horn and a little 1.5 gallon tank with a built in compressor. I put a T-fitting on the line so I could use it to air up tires on occasion. That little compressor finally crapped out. The motor still works but the bearing in the connecting rod of the compressor is nothing but dust and ball bearings now. I did a little research and learned about compressor duty cycles and decided to go with a new Viair 450C compressor which has a 100% duty cycle. I also got a new 5 gallon air tank so I woudn't spend as much time waiting for the little one to fill. It's probably a little overkill for my needs but the 450C was …

  20. A month or so ago I was leaving my brothers house when i noticed that my ABS airbag and brake were lit on the dash. I stopped and restarted the engine and the lights went away. Had that happen a couple more times when i noticed that the ignition switch was not returning all the way after starting. The switch had also been stiff to turn a few times. Figured my stater switch was giving out. I broke out my new key thats been hanging on the wall since i bought the truck and that issue went a way. So figured the old key might have been the cause. I could even remove that old key with the engine running, it was pretty worn after 14 years of use. I have not had those troubles o…
