2nd Generation Dodge Non-Powertrain

I just rebuilt my hydro boost with a seal kit because it was leaking power steering fluid. I carefully separated the halves of it and just replaced the one oil seal that sits around the piston, and then the figure 8 seal. My hydro boost was acting normally except for the P/S fluid leak up until this point. My hydro boost is not leaking power steering fluid anymore, but now when I start the pickup or I'm moving slowly, it acts like the brakes are self applied without pushing on the brake pedal, because I can give it throttle pedal pressure and it takes more power to move the pickup now. I understand that this is most likely caused by a plugged/restricted return…

  2. Anybody know of any low fuel pressure light that lights up around 12 psi or little bit higher? I have an Airdog fuel pump. Already have an BD and Airdog low pressure light , but they light up when fuel pressure is much to low in my opinion. In process of installing a fuel pressure gauge but would also like light that goes off around 12 psi or little bit more. Thanks

Has anyone replaced the seat cushion in their truck? Mine is pretty wore out, but I hate to spend the $125 just to realize that I don't have the right skills or tools to replace it. https://www.genosgarage.com/product/dodge-ram-replacement-driver-seat-cushion-gg-sc9801/new-products

Most of the summer, the only way to get the drivers side to work was to 'thump' the inside door panel, just below the switches... whilst holding the switch. Made for some pretty erratic driving to say the least.. sonny tried a new switch, but that didn't work either, same action was needed to make it work. Now the passenger side no longer works, but it worked fine until yesterday. Is that metal 'fuse' in the side dash a fuse, circuit breaker, or relay? It's the same that runs the power seats.. but swapping them made no difference.. seat works fine with either. So, what's the order of events here? Fin…

So I picked up a set of fourth gen. wheels for my 98.5 and I'm looking for opinions as to what I can do to get these wheels looking like new. I was initially going to powdercoat them but I did a 180 once I saw how they looked on the truck with a factory finish. Luckily these wheels do not have any curb-rash, dings, nicks, etc. They did come off a 2011 model year truck that has seen it's Wisconsin winters. All imperfections aren't even that bad but I really want them to look like new before I mount tires on them. I am confused as to what the what the process is to giving alloy wheels the finish they have. I am also confused as to where to take them to. I h…

I was just pricing up parts for my dash overhaul and there is decent price difference between Mopar and aftermarket heater core and ac evaporator $36 for spectra heater core, $135 for Mopar $49 for four seasons evaporator, $330 for Mopar Mopar or nocar? I'm having a hard time justifying the over $300 price difference just for a genuine oe part. Any input?

Hi all, Does anyone have the part number for the OEM dodge tow hooks? I am trying to find them online but its proving to be very very hard without a part number. I would also be interested in any bolt on, clean looking aftermarket solution anyone has come up with. Thanks

What do people commonly use to keep gauge in the hole of a "A" pillar? Black glue, black silicone caulking, liquid elec tape, etc? Thanks

Have a friend with a short in his tail light circuit. I isolated it to be forward of the connector near frame under drivers feet. Lots of wires there. Where do i find a schematic? The wire is a 14 ga black. I cut it prior to the connector. Spliced the wire going to the rear to a long lead and temporarily ran it to the left headlamp circuit breaker. Wire going forward has a dead short. Overhead council and dash lights are also dead.

Hey all, Now that I have all new/reman power steering system components, I'm wondering if I would benefit from throwing in an inline filter? I've heard of the Magnafine before. Are they good? What are you guys using if you have PS fluid filter and where should I place it?

Am I the only one with sagging front doors? I put new hinges in two years ago and they have drooped down again! This then rubs the paint off of my rocker panel causing rust. I now have spacers in the bottom drivers hinge to push the tail corner up lasted for awhile and now it still took paint off. the passenger side needs more significant repairs but I want to get some opinions first I'm trying to get pix the images were to big

Hey guys. I'm looking to swap my overhead console out of my 99 and into my 02 before I finally sell the 99. Yea I know, I'm swapping everything I can! Lol! Anyways, is it just a simple one for one swap on the console? Maybe a plug already there? Or would need to take the plug along in the swap? Figure I'll have to swap the front sensor under the hood as well. If this was just something I was trying to piece together I wouldn't even bother but, DTE, a better trip meter and outside temp would be nice (if that would even work). So if anyone's done this swap or knows more about it, please chime in.

Hey all, I noticed lately that either my ac is not as cold as it used to be, or I just hadn't ever used it when it was really hot (I normally use windows when my wife isn't with). Its still cool, just not ice cold. I have also noticed in the past that at idle my ac compressor will lock and unlock regularly. I was reading about ac issues now to try and see whats up and discovered that the locking and unlocking probably means my system is low on pressure. Now I'm looking for advice on how to deal with this. Should I try a do-it-yourself can from autozone? Ive been told in the past they are dangerous and not the correct way to service the system, but I've been reading a…

Have learned a lot from the threads on the HVAC systems in our trucks. Will be digging into my system soon. Question for you folks that have changed out the Evaporator & Heater cores .... Did you use OEM parts? Why I ask is that the Evaporator core lists for $588.- The Heater core lists for $221.- Add 12% tax .... If you've used 'other' brands successfully ..... would like to hear about them. Thank you .....

Looking up some parts today. Somehow across this fill in your VIN number and up comes your belt and hoses. Going to print out and keep in glove box, just in case. I'm not in love with Gates but thought it was handy. http://www.gates.com/catalogs-and-resources/resources/repository/engineering-business-applications/vin-decoder/vin-decoder

The truck had a pop sound on the frontend. When you turn the wheel to a certain degree to the left and then pops again when you turn it back right. I thought it maybe the ball joints so i replaced them and still popped. I asked around and others said it was the track bar. I purchased a new track bar and installed, now i have more popping than i had in the beginning. To top it off my steering wheel is turned 10 to 15° to the left... i did some research and found most saying turn the adjustment linkage to fix the steering wheel. Just making sure this is correct and wondering if the is anything else that may cause the pop.
