2nd Generation Dodge Non-Powertrain

In the parts manual, Figure 08A-430, The overhead console has a part named "DOOR, Garage Door Opener" (I guess your garage door open supposed to go) Anyway the plastic tag that you push in to open broke today. This is the little compartment that is near the mpg, trip meter readout thing. Above the rear view mirror. Any good ideas what to do with that space to make it useful? Thanks

Need a little help here as I am stumped. I just pulled the Vac/steering pump as a unit and fixed the oil leak with new seals and a new power steering pump. After everything was back in and fluids were topped off I test drove it and right away the ABS and parking brake light came on. I checked the vac line and its connected. My vent control works great so I know the system has vacuum. Test drove it and power steering works and brake pedal feels good but a panic stop locks up the rear brakes (no abs function). What am I missing? Truck is a 2001 2500 Cummins 4x4 extended cab. found a wheel sensor plug was not properly connected. Thx…

  4. Does anyone know why most 2nd gen CTD shocks list "Exclusion: Snow Plow Prep Package"?I did not get (or maybe I couldn't get) the snow plow option when I ordered my truck back in 1997 and am wondering if there is a special coil and/or shock setup that would allow a snow plow setup? I'm thinking it might have been an axle overload issue though (too much weight with the Cummins engine to throw the weight of the snow plow on top of that front axle). Also, does anyone know what the camper option added to the suspension? Thanks for any advice or information you can provide ahead of time!

  7. I had a garage install a new condenser several years ago, pretty well broke the bank & the dash plastics have never fitted just right since then. I've recharged the AC just to get by. The AC / heater is stuck on defrost (the default mode) so the vacume vent control is out. I haven't been able to test the vacume yet. (My ability to accomplish anything is pretty dinimished by my disability.) So now I'm smelling antifreeze. Might as well make it worthwhile pulling the dash.I just the Cirus back from the shop today. Brakes all around (discs, pads, drums, shoes, a rubber line), and hopefully sealed the rear tires to the rims. I might just sign my check & hand…

a few months ago, I replaced my shocks all the way around on my truck. They were shot, replaced them with bilstein 5100. It definitely helped the up and down recover, but the truck still bounces side to side a lot more. What I mean is if I hit a speed bump one tire at a time, the truck rocks side to side much more than I remeber it doing originally. Looked at the sway bar links, and don't see any kind of wear on it, even when I bounce it manually. So maybe the coils are tired? How can you tell? What other causes might there be? Up and down is fine, so I don't think its the shocks.

Hi, I have searched but can't seem to find anything definitive that relates. My brother has a 94 and he dropped battery cable and shorted it out under hood. (not sure why truck was running) Anyway of course it is now not charging. He has had alt tested and appears to be OK. He has bypassed the ECU with a regulator no difference. He has supposedly checked the Fusible link and its OK, I have been doing some reading and every once in awhile someone refers to crank sensor, what does this have to do with a non charge situation? He is going to bring truck to me so I thought I would pose for suggestions. I cant validate the alt test at all so I will check diodes to see where t…

I posted my concern regarding my FP gauge on the CF a week or two ago... thinking maybe my lift pump was the issue. KATOOM indicated that gauge may not be working correctly and suggested I contact ISSPRO. I posted in their sponsor's forum but no response. I just read another post regarding the FP gauge when the truck is turned off... whether it should or shouldn't drop to zero.. and the consensus is yes it should. I just checked mine and it does not drop when I shut down. Here's a video of a first start this morning. Shows the pressure at 16 from last night.. what happens when I turn the key (which was my intitial concern a couple weeks ago.. no build in p…

On my 1998.5, I recently upgraded from the stock wheels to some 2014 take offs (275 70 R18's) and added 2" spacers. I have put about 3k on them and yesterday noticed some front end noise. The tie rods feel very sloppy now. Few questions: Will luke's links fix this problem? or Should I rebuild with moog parts? Do you think the larger rims, tires, and spacers caused my front end issues? Thanks, Philo

A little over a year ago I posted a thread seeking help on my A/C. You can view it here: http://forum.mopar1973man.com/index.php?/topic/8324-need-ac-help/ It has since been archived, but I'll give you the background to it here to save you some reading. The problem:(taken from the original post): "Most of the time (95%), my A/C just blows hot air regardless of where the temperature control knob is. If I have been driving for a while, especially on the highway, the A/C might start blowing nice cold air. I never get too excited because soon after that, I will hear a single pop noise under the hood and the air gets hot again. This pop noise (thud or thump might be mo…

  15. So I was wanting to get new leather seats for my truck. The katzkin leather I heard is popular, it's a kit that just pulls over the seat i believe, a dealer would install it for 1600 buck, that's material cost and labor . Anybody done this to there truck before? Does it seem to good to be true, maybe cheap product or something else? Also leatherseats.com has some nice looking seats you can make for 1300bucks, not including install.

It’s snowing here in East TN today, but more importantly the temps are dropping to zero here over the next few days which is rare for us. I took my batteries to Walmart today to have them load tested and they say they checked fine. Put them back in the truck, started right up (I’ve been driving all day) a little ways down the road I got a CEL. 1689 and P0238. Truck would stumble every 1/4 mile or so. Got home, tuned the truck off, the lift pump was running. Thought maybe I missed a ground wire or something when I was hooking everything back up. Batteries unhooked now. Any ideas on where to start? I’d like to figure it out tonight before the real cold and ice get here tomo…

  17. My dually started having a weird vibration I think its from the front at 40mph or so mostly at a cruise or decell situation and not so noticeable if at all when I'm accelerating. Any ideas? Thanks.

Anyone have a source for them for a 99 truck? I can find 01 and up but none for 99. It's all coming apart for ball joints soon so now would be a good time to get some back on.

  20. I know everyone likely has ordered something from rockauto.com at some point. There customer service is non existent and their site leaves something to be desired, but perhaps that's part of their charm! Anyway my question is on the below. Do you reckon the extended cab refers to a 2nd gen "Quad cab" per their cab size guide picture below? Want to order a new replacement ACME headliner but i'm not certain an "Extended Cab" fit is for an actual Quad cab and there's no way to ask rockauto.com. Anyone hazard a guess?
