The info in my signature is up to date, with that in mind, I have an issue with the engine stumbling. No matter if I'm in the 0 setting or 3 setting it will stumble on acceleration from around 55 mph. When if you slam the throttle. In the stock setting it doesn't do it as bad. Feels like a miss. Now if I place the quad in 4 or 5, it will stumble until it kicks the wire tap in and then you can feel the miss ever so slightly. There are no codes, I have changed out the injector lines all 6 and torqued them down 28lbft. I was thinking it was the old lines, maybe they were just over torqued, no luck. This issue is really prevalent when towing. Now with no codes, could it still…

  2. I pulled an 18 foot trailer with 2 razors and other miscellaneous stuff today on a 80% highway about an hour each way. I was running 70-75 most of the time. Until the hills if they were 6 or 7% grade I would lose speed sometimes down to 60mph. Now if I pushed the go pedal nothing happened untill it kicked down and was screaming and starting to haul a$$. Now my brothers 99 with a built trans, 100 horse injectors and an edge ez. Don't have this issue. He just mashes a little and rolls on. Is it normal or something a tuner could help? Or am I asking for more than I should be? I ain't saying it was horrible just that it started to lose speed when I didn't expect it to. No lo…

  4. The new owner sent me these today of the nv4500. It was a built nv4500. A little sad that this chapter is finished. Deep down I know that was / is one of easily 10 fastest manual diesels ( if not better) in the country if you could launch it. If not it would be damn respectable. It’s back half was utterly ridiculous. Funny thing is the neighbor begged me to go to B.I.R and let him run it. I know he could launch it no problems. Incredible wheelman. My wallet kept reeling me in with you stick your 50mph roll ons. Oh well. It will now be getting a full billet meal deal auto. Really cool and better from stop menace .…

Hi all. I am currently in the process of upgrading from the supposedly unsafe and shaft snapping hx40 to a larger charger. It is currently set at 45psi and I’m making somewhere in the 420-470hp range. I want to be around 600+. I have found a guy with a bunch of turbos that is going to build one for me to whatever specs I desire. So I am trying to figure out the single best turbo specs for my exact modifications to get me around that hp mark and still be somewhat driveable. All my previous mods should be listed below. Thanks for your responses.

Happened to stumble across this video on youtube over the weekend. Was wondering what everyones thoughts were. Looks pretty simple just not sure if there are any cons to it. Only thing that comes to mind right away is how does he plug the existing port for the wastegate?

So I have an issue and I'm hoping it's not my injection pump. I've check all my fuel lines for leaks and everything is working as it should, no air all the way from the tank to the return line off the side of the vp44. Truck will not crank. Went to bleed lines 1 through 5 at the head and only getting fuel to lines 1 and 4.

I know little to nothing about wiring...Finally replacing my oem battery cables, need to attach new cable to existing ground on the passenger side with the grey plugs. I want to crimp and solder the connection, I already have rosin core solder wire, do I need to dip the ends in rosin flux to prevent corrosion? Or is the rosin core wire enough? I can’t seem to find rosin flux anywhere.

  11. I just got a pair of used 245/75 R16 tires from a friend. So I mounted them up on my old aluminum mags and mount the 245's on rear axle of the truck. They are a bit shorter in height. The gains are great! Engine load is reduced by 5% to 10% roughly. EGT's are about 50*F lower. Acceleration is way better and faster. Cruising RPM's are right about 1,960 RPM at 65 MPH. I've got to reset my cruise timing limit on the Quadzilla I need to drop from my current 25% to 20% it was holding cruise timing climbing about 2-3% grade. I'm going to document MPG usage as well in the coming days.

Well as the title states my wife thinks I need a new truck since we're moving back to Colorado. She doesn't want me to keep using my old 78 Ford for my winter beater and the 01Dodge is her winter transportation (happy wife, happy life). With that being said she thinks we need another Cummins so I've been on the lookout for an unmolested 2nd gen. I've found a few potential candidates. Which one would you consider? https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/d/2001-dodge-2500/6758095175.html https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/d/2002-dodge-ram-cummins-trade/6750979105.html https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/d/2002-dodge-a-2500/6758957497.html …

So I seen the dyno tune that’s used for tm in the down loads but with having a 5speed and having to start in in the 1:1 ratio. what Would i need to change on it to have max hp and torque. I just installed 100hp injectors last night and will be getting on the dyno this after noon or tomorrow just depends on when they get it calibrated for my torque they said. any help would be appreciated.

I’m looking for a list of items to keep in my truck on long trips and trips into remote backcountry. I can think of a few things off my head but like a detailed list of things that can keep my truck on the road if necessary.

Hi All, I started this thread to share (maybe inspire, feel free to add posts on your own) fellow 2nd gen owners on the refresh of my truck as while its getting older, I think there are simple ways to make it fit better into the modern world. This mindset started when I started considering buying a 4th gen, and while they are awesome I realized that with a little TLC my 2nd gen could fit better into the modern truck world and I could avoid a truck payment! What I have done thus far: 1. New shocks on all four corners (no pics, sorry) 2. Additional lighting upfront (I can get a picture this weekend) 3. Removed, cleaned and remounted the weat…

2002 Dodge RAM 2500HD, 5speed (about 250,000+ miles), The truck is pushing 16+ years, is it realistic to expect another 16+ years out of a 2002? The truck has not been abused during it's life, modified for better mpg and towing performance of a 5th wheel RV, nothing crazy. New trucks are expensive, on the other hand I want something I don't have to work on once retired in the near future. I would have to spend $$ on needed restorative type work etc., but after work done no monthly payments lol. Wondering if anyone else has been or is at this crossroad, and would be willing share thoughts pro/cons as one considers keeping t…

So I was doing some checking on my boost pressure and was see what the turbo would produce. I’m producing around 43lbs according to the manual gauge and 37 acorrding to the quad at wot. I then clamped the waste gate line and there was no increase. The turbo is maybe a month old now. So my questions are, with the stock injectors is that all I’m going to see if I’m not put out enough fuel? My next question is by crimping the waste gate off shouldnt I see more boost? I talked with bd diesel today and the guy said that with the turbo I have the optimal operating range is is 37-45 lbs. last question for now is, is there something wrong with the turbo if I can’t produce any mor…
