After 15 years of service my doors and now clunking, rattle, wind noise etc. I've been pretty religious about keeping the hinges lubed up and checking for door sag. Actually, my issue was more so in the rear doors which the lower latch was a bit sloppy. I did a bit adjusting to align the striker pin in the middle of the latch gap and make sure the door made a full cycle in on the latch (both latches). Then you have to re-adjust your main door striker pin the same way middle of the latch notch and enough that you get a full cycle of both latches. This really tightens up the doors a bunch and seem to shut solid now and tight. As for door sag, you can check this…

  3. My 98.5 auto bogs when the TCC locks up at light throttle. With OD off it locks up at 35mph, otherwise it locks up at 50mph. However my speedo is roughly 5mph fast compared to actual, so subtract those readings by 5. After running custom tunes off this board, it seems like timing of 17/20/25/28 on the Quadzilla makes more lowend torque than my previous timing of 16/19/24/26, and when the TCC locks up its not as prone to bogging and shaking the entire truck to bits. I am confident I have no boost leaks based on the great off idle torque my truck makes, and the supreme lack of smoke (also thanks to going back to a stock stall torque converter). This …

Some how I’ve made 189K miles on the stock pump, but know I’m on borrowed time. So, I’m trying to decide between a Fuel Boss or Airdog 2 4g 165 lift pump. I can see benefits for both and would appreciate some insight. My truck is currently stock and don’t see heavy modifications. I do haul with it: stock, boats and wood. Currently it’s my main rig and mostly just getting around. Thanks, JT

So my truck is a 2000 with A/T, a full set of gauges, BHAF, Edge EZ, AirDog fuel pump and RV 275 injectors. As it stands right now I'm only able to get about 22 pounds of boost at WOT. I would like to get it up to near 30 pounds if I can. I've installed the boost elbow that came with the Edge EZ but it doesn't make any difference on the boost levels. I've looked at the TST J-Hook, but it says it's for the 2001-2002 A/T trucks. So my question is can I increase my turbo boost on my 2000 A/T truck?

Had to get rental today so wives crv get airbags fixed. Rental was brand new jeep compass. Not sure if all gadgets are worth it. Here is pic of center console. Be nice to have some of stuff in a 2nd gen. Wiring diagram probably need roll of butcher paper to get it all on. Don't see how common guy can fix his own anymore. Some things are nice but this is over kill.

So I'm looking for a Drier/ Accumulator and an orface tube and the cheapest place to find parts for both of those is Partsgeek for $20/piece. I know about being weary of online stores like Rock Auto and such but I didnt know if anyone has bought their A/C parts or what. Anything helps as always, thanks!

Getting an aux trans cooler for my truck pretty soon here. I’m also getting a deep trans pan. I’ve narrowed it down to the Derale 15840 and the 15960. Anyone have person experience with any of these? Or if you have another suggestions fire them my way! I’m also going to do the Derale electric fan set up adventually when I get time. Also is their any good write ups on installing these on our trucks? I did a quick google search and didn’t come up with much

I've had this truck for about a year now. Ups and downs like every 2nd gen but overall I am very happy with this truck. Prepare for picture overload. Quick run down. A buddy posted this truck for sale on fb the day before the transmission decided to die in my grand prix (shocker). I bought this as to be a dd/tow rig when needed. The truck is originally from Texas and moved around a bit. I did find the owner on fb that brought the truck up to Indiana/Michigan and he provided some history on it. The box was trashed from day one. The owner I bought it from did not own up to rolling the truck onto it's side which cause bed damage and some door push in at the bottom. Nothing t…

Well I got a 01 3500 stock auto slush box. stock hy turbo. stock, stock, stock. Easier to talk about the few upgrades I do have. Airdog 150, BHAF, Old programmer/tuner from like 2002. I am at cross roads as to what to do next. one is how to build the engine. The other is what tranny to put in it. My goals are to have a tow monster and power to have fun with. I don't mind slow turbo spool up speed but i do want one hell of a loud turbo whistle from the intake. I want compound turbos and I know a single turbo might be an option but am thinking it can't do it. I am able to fab up the mandrel bent pipe for the intake. I am not opposed to buying a bolt on kit just need to weig…

I am hopefully putting in DAP 7x.0085 Sacs this week. Truck is stock performance wise. No electronics yet. Will I need anything else along with this? ie boost fooler, elbow? I have never gone the injector first route before but this vehicle has given me a decent $$ hit so I am holding off on electronics. I know the HO pump responds better to injectors than electronics so I figure I should at least get a nice little bump. Worst case Ontario I have new injectors.

Can 400 hp be made on a stock HX35 turbo without EGT issues? Still trying to decide on my power goals lol. I’d like to be able to tow fairly heavy and have a fun daily driver. I don’t want to mess with new turbos so what is the max on my HX?

SO i found a 12valve long box 5 speed 4x4. it's not in horrible shape. but it also has 306K on it. trans looks new. P pump is new, new injectors. could use some control arm bushing, steering will move from 10-2 and still go in a straight line. no major oil leaks. no blow by that i could tell. shifted amazing compared to my G56. has no rust, rear air bags. AC works. forgot to check heat as it was only 88 outside. this is a joy ride truck, toy. wood cutting truck. he's asking 8K i offered 5 and he said no. so... how much would someone say it's worth. ball park. it''s my second unicorn truck, 12V 5 speed long box 4x4. thoughts.

So I am getting tired of going to the local parts stores to get codes read and reset on my vehicles. What code reader do you use? I have read a little about needing a DRBIII(R) scan tool, OBD II scan tool??? What do I need for my truck? Want to ensure what I get will work for all vehicles that I have.

  16. Seem to remember someone mentioning this before. Out of curiosity let's say you have 10 people pushing your truck or you could roll down the hill or you could tow it with a different vehicle, can a manual transmission Cummins be pop started, will everything work as it should, lift pump for example. Mainly talking about the vp44 truck but would like to know any info possible.

Can someone link me a previous thread or tell me where I can get parts for MoparMan's hybrid turbo or where I can just buy the whole unit? Looking for a good upgrade. Performance upgrades I have are a BHAF, Smarty S03 (again, SORRY ), DAP 7x.009 100hp VCO injectors. Also whats the difference between VCO and SAC? All I was told is to buy VCO for the best mileage between the two and I never really learned or understood the difference. Anything helps as always. Thanks!

  19. Here is a tidbit I found that sheds a bit of light on the grid heater element. https://goodsonengineering.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/FiresCausedbyFracturedResistanceHeatingElements.pdf In Photo 1, we note that the coils (loops) of this element are relatively uniformly spaced. Such uniform spacing creates a relatively constant surface temperature for the element. At 240 VAC, with a fan blowing (as in actual use), surface temperatures were approximately 470 deg F when measured with a thermocouple. This temperature, however, will lessen as the heater element is used. A nominal 5000 watt heater will drop in wattage (and thus heat output) as a function of …

  20. First off what are the benefits, if any, is there to a turbo blanket? I havent looked at all to see if there was a previous thread on turbo blankets but I was wanting to know if they're a good investment for $25 off amazon. Every kid in the country with a Honda Civic thats turbocharged has one so I didnt know if it actually helped or was just for looks. If it does help though, would it help performance to have one AND MoparMan's BHAF shield thingy he made out of a License plate or whatever its made out of? Anything helps as always. Thanks!!!
