Wondering if anyone else has issues with "Daily driver with meat" tune? It was running awsome for a day or two, then things took a turn for the worst. Started idleing around 3k too high, hard starting, 5-8 seconds of cranking (usually fire's right up with just a blip of turn key) check engine light, 0500, 1693, sitting at a light whilst in gear it would surge randomly and try to take off! Switched to a different tune and seems to go back to normal?? Honestly haven't driven much since. But lights out and idles normal. On another note, if anyone in Boise area could help a brother out who has experience with the quadzilla and maybe hel…

Something I figured out the other day. I had started my truck cold after doing a valve adjustment and the grid heater was cycling in and out as normal. Then I placed my hand on the back of the alternator near the diode plate and Wow! that thing gets hot. Even with the Quadzilla bumping up the idle to 1,200 RPM with its own high idle the draw of the grid heater is considerable. I'm starting to think it might a be a good suggestion to replace my grid heater here in the future and see if the diode heat is reduced.

I read the thread on IAT relating to MPG performance during winter weather. I have possibly a similar issue and was wondering if anyone else has experience or if anyone might know what is causing it. Just a piece of mind thing more than anything. Set Up: 02 cummins, 6speed, 102k miles, with Edge EZ and RV275's Symptoms: I have confirmed that during cold weather usually below 50-55 degrees I have a noticeable hesitation around 1400-1600 rpms when I get down on it. My version of a romp does not involve spinning up a $1000 set of michelins so just know that I don't hammer on my stock clutch like that. It usually happens in 5 and 6 gear. Especial…

So I decided to swap over to amsoil when I did the clutch and ever since then, the trans makes a really loud grinding noise in 4th from 1250-1500. The more load on it the louder it gets. I like to try different things out but this noise is just ridiculous. I made a vid but for some reason all you hear is the engine so I might have to tape the cam underneath or take the shifter boot off or something. Anyone got a reason as to why switching made it do this? I used the gold plated stuff before and it never made a sound. I've heard nothing but good stuff about the redline GL4 stuff so I might try that next. Think my trans has so many miles it makes all the flaws in flu…

Alright fellas, another 5th wheel trailer question. Ran to a local RV place to look at some trailers and see what me and the wife would consider living in while I work. Just went there with the intent to see some in person and see what we could get financed for. Took us out on the lot and saw a few we really would like. We agreed on one and used it as a "baseline" to see what we could get financed for. This is the trailer: http://www.rv007.com/pre_owned_detail.asp?veh=3011544 We got approved for financing for it. Thats not the problem. I explained to them that I was limited in how heavy I could tow something. The sales guy was like a genuine Larry the …

Spent the past few weeks going through my truck and getting ahead of maintenance items (new battery cables, end links, leaf spring shackles, fluid, filters). Now to the fun stuff. Sitting in boxes on the kitchen table are a set of Infinite Performance SAC 7x.010’s, ARP 2000’s, Quad Adrenaline, Vulcan big line kit, and draw straw. I’m being offered a good deal on a Smedding 62/65/12 HX40. This is a tow/daily driver. I don’t need to tow 30,000lbs, but my goal is to make the truck tow within its designed limits better than it does now. Will this turbo hit the mark? And regarding the sac injectors, should I expect haze at idle? I’m ok with a light haze, but hoping it’s not ob…

So for how ever long I've had my back to going normally, I cannot get my timing and everything thing else figured out. I been talking, chatting with @Mopar1973Man for quite a bit over the past month plus and give him all the credit for getting me thus far, however I figured asking additional input wouldnt hurt. My egt's are through the roof! 800-900* cruising 65 mph. Slight hill or Itty bitty incline 1100*. Lord help me if I wanna pass or just even getting up to speed 1500* Oil and coolant always the same 195* give or take. Oil should be cooler. Engine load now seems to be 19-20 going 65 mph. I think this is what I was running yesterday and this m…

Idling in the parki g lot today and I notice 0 FP. So I dig into it and no blown fuse. Plug another relay in and nothing, hot wire the pump nothing. I have power to the pump and the ECM is triggering the relay like it should but the pump is dead. The only thing I did not do is open the cover over the gear rotor to see if something got in there. Even if something was in there the pump is not even trying to run. Any suggestions?

So I was out fiddling with the quad yesterday and set to level zero, my idle shot up to a little over 1200, basically high idle mode and instantly set off engine light. Truck was already up to temp. I could toggle back and forth and everytime I got to zero idle would shoot up, above zero it would go back down. Code was 0500, 1693 (ABS code?) Something similar happened a few months ago with that code and quad and me78569 promptly jumped in and assured me that was impossible! Well I'm here to tell you it is! I thought it worked itself out with that code awhile back, but here it is again and I'm sure it's iquad related. Even made sure to turn …

First off let me say. I just had my transmission fluid change this summer. On my trip to Lewiston ID I had the Quadzilla on Level 2. I made it to the Casino outside of town and stop for a minute to grab a few things. Pulled back out on the highway rowed up through gear and it started clicking. WHAT?! Any gear had a very loud clicking noise even neutral as long as it rolling. I figure out pretty quick its was the input gear from the input shaft. Towed it home and pull the transmission. Yup you can twist the input and feel the gear is got broken teeth. NOTE: Remember the Quadzilla was on level 2 (stock fuel), fluid was just changed this summer and fresh and ful…

Happy holidays to all !! Here's hoping '21 will be better ! Sorry for another mpg question and I'm sure this has probably been discussed to death somewhere?? So I've owned my truck for almost a year now, I don't drive it much, mainly bought it for hauling camper, dirt bike and such, I don't think I've put more than 6 - 7 tanks of fuel thru it, maybe 3 since I got quadzilla. Was I mistaken thinking I was going to get better milage with the quad? I love the way it runs, and I drive pretty conservitaly most the time and I have yet to get over 12 mpg ! That was before and after quad, no difference other than power, which is nice but?? Now I'…

Finally got around to disassembling my old alternator. I believe this is the factory original one. Unfortunately I stripped out 2 of the 4 screw heads holding the diodes in! Any tips for stripped screws? Anyways, @Mopar1973Man The diodes you sell...do they fit in all Denso alternators found on 94-02 trucks? I have a 98.5, which from the looks of it, is the same as a 12 valve alternator. It doesn't have that plug on the back (see photo from FSM).

hey guys just a quick question i changed fuel filters the other day because it had been about 10000 miles since the last change. the fuel inside was crystallizing and almost snot-like consistency lol anyways, my question here is: which anti-gel? i have read the HFRR testing article on here, i have read other testings, and it looks like opti lube is the way to go, but theres a few different ones that contain anti-gel but my concerns are that it claims to boost cetane which i thought wasnt a good thing? i need an anti-gel to use this winter because last winter i did have 1 instance of gelling with a wind chill of -15, supposed to be worse this year.. pl…

Given that we've now had two forum members recently get their rigs stolen () I figured I'd start a thread on any and all ideas for anti-theft devices, switches, alarms, gps things so maybe we can compile our ideas to keep our trucks safer from these damn thieves! What do ya got?!

I have a 2201 3500 with 24v. I have an antifreeze leak that is showing up in the passenger wheel well. There is a 2" spray pattern all the way across the liner like the tire is spraying it up there. The engine compartment is dry. There is 1 steel line that runs across the fender in the engine compartment but all connections or joints are dry. Although I have not removed the foil tape that is on them, but no signs of leaking or water marks. Could the heater core be leaking? If it was would it be wet in the cab or shouldn't I smell it? Any and all thoughts appreciated.

Found these injectors on Ebay from from a shop called Pensacola Diesel, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200587208258&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT#ht_550wt_1167. You know the old saying, you get what you pay for, so this price scares me a little. To good to be true for that price? Anyone have experience with that shops parts?

I'm getting ready for a 5200+ mile trip and with just over 100K miles on the clock I've been thinking about replacing my injectors when I do the valve adjustment before I go. I was looking at Bosch 275's when I came across these on E-bay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-New-Dodge-Cummins-RV275-Performance-Injectors-for-98-5-02-24-VALVE-5-9L/161397044745?hash=item2594037609:g:KBQAAOSwxH1T8Kjl&vxp=mtr They're made/supplied by Sundieselsystems http://sundieselsystems.com/performance-products/performance-injectors/ Has anyone had any experience with this brand of injectors?

I was originally looking for some RV injectors when I came across DAPs website. Their prices are good. Was wondering what the difference was between the DAP brand and the aftermarket ones are other than 1 requires a core and the other does not. Should I keep my stock injectors? I am probably going to go with 75hp injectors Any info or recommendations would be great. Thanks
