I need to replace the roof on my 5er and plan on doing it myself with help from friends. The local RV shops around here want $5k to start "and it could go up from there". Right now it has an EPDM rubber roof; so has anyone replaced theirs, what did you use, and how hard was it todo?

Being I'm packing up the RV I started thinking about the lighting in the RV. I found an Amazon page that has LED lights in sets of 20 for cheap $13 for all 20 LED lights. That's a mere 67 cents a bulb. I can change out all my lights in the RV for next to nothing. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076V9XXW6/

Hello, I have to rebuild the engine in my 2002 Zetor 6341 Super with a Z7703 engine. I blew the head gasket on the #4 last week. Pulled it down to put a gasket in it and the piston scuffed the sleeve and stuck the rings. I'm just waiting for my inframe rebuild kit. Has anyone on here rebuilt one of these engines before? Are the sleeves hard to pull?

  4. Hi, I want to install a Model 1394 B&W Hidden Gooseneck Hitch pictured under the bed on my truck. The truck has aftermarket airbags which I did not install and know nothing about. Former owner had a slide in camper. . The brackets on top of air bags interfere with me installing the side rails for the Hitch. There are 2 bolts on each side of each brackets. My thoughts were to put 1/4 plates between the brackets to bring them out 1/4" so the Hitch side rails will go behind. Good/Bad idea? Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Leaky

Got an issue with my class a. New VP44 and FASS. I've had some wiring gremlins. RV sits on the coast of CA so there has been some corrosion in wiring from moist air. The point I'm at now the RV will start up, run for a little while and die. If I turn the key off for a minute or so and turn back on all is OK. If when the engine dies I automatically try to turn key off and back on the "Wait to Start" does not come on and battery gauge show's nothing. One set of batteries main power source seemed to have a short in it and would cut the RV out if I grabbed it. Grid heater relay seemed to get stuck on while troubleshooting a no …

  6. I want to install a Goose neck plug in the back of my '71 F250. I want to do it through a separate relay/fuse box. I have been searching for almost a year for a write up on it or a kit or...…. So I thought I would ask here. How do I go about this. I want to have the electrical load separate from the main wiring to protect the main pickup harness. I have a 20' chunk of trailer harness and the plugs, a relay/fuse box out of the '94 dodge donor, and a brake controller. I also want to put the headlights on relays and have a relay for additional lights. Any guidance will be helpful.

I was out unloading a trailer full of firewood the other day and a micro burst of heavy wind came up, and I heard a snap from above somewhere, I didnt even have time to look and see where it was and just took off running I was literally 10’ ft from where the tree fell, it all happened in a matter of seconds, The RV has some extensive structural damage on the roof, worse than the pics reveal, looks like some bent or broke frame members and three tree limbs punctured through the roof. Broken window and siding, thankfully I got full coverage so we will see how it pans out, I don’t know how the fix is going to be but either way this was a spotless clean RV for a 2004 model.…

I am currently sitting in the camper in my driveway and continue to be impressed by my Lifeline GPL-6CT's. We are staying in the camper right now because our hardwood floors are being redone. I don't like to let the batteries sit on the converter after they are charged so on Wednesday I turned off the battery switch. The battery volt meter is powered by the converter so it's still on and 48 hours after charging stopped my batteries are at 13.16V!! They aren't cheap but they do work really well!

Any body that's worked on a pusher RV probably knows how big of a pain in the arse they are to work on. Anyway I had a doozy of a time diagnosing a major coolant leak on a 2012 Cummins ISC with 46,000 miles today with only having a 2 foot by 2 foot hole in the floor in the bathroom to access the top of the engine. I started off by applying air pressure to the radiator with a pressure tester. The system of course would not hold pressure and air leaking very audibly somewhere on top of the engine. I removed the EGR cooler and pressure tested in a tub of water. A crack in the EGR cooler case was found doing the pressure test. I installed a new Cummins updated EGR cooler and …

How do you deal with humidity and condensation in winter? Do you have a dehumidifier? I think Dripley uses his Fiver in winter. Also what hitch for the truck is a go to brand and type. I would like to get the best, maybe easier to use. T.I.A. If I do this I want one about like IBMobile has. It's not too huge

My neighbors folks passed away and the siblings sold the home. They are giving away an old 70's Winnebago motorhome. It sat for at least 25 years and used to be well cared for until they got too old. It's amazing how well built they were back then, but my question is if there is anything worth salvaging that I should take off before it gets towed away? I could take the whole thing If I wanted.

  14. I'm getting rid of my flatbed and installing my winch and tool box on my brother in laws brand new trailer. This new trailer has a break away battery system for the brakes and according to the description, charges through the trailer plug. I had the winch battery setup to charge through the plug on my old trailer but it was the only battery. Can I just tap into the new trailer harness and run a charge wire to the winch battery so both get charged? I have a feeling it won't be that simple, but that's why I'm here. I'll verify the break away is charged by the tow vehicle as I know not all do. Would it perhaps just be easier to get a small solar charger for the winch b…

My wife and I got back to Minnesota on Wednesday. I backed into my son in law's driveway to do some work to the trailer before going to the campground for the summer. I was talking to my SIL and turned around. I looked at the trailer and almost crapped my pants! The roof was lifted and torn due to it sliding out from under the front cap (I had a repair done for the same problem done in February in Texas under warranty. The trailer is now at a dealer and with the roof like it is and the spongy floor needing replaced they want to send it back to the factory........... BTW, this trailer is just under a year old so it is under warranty. This picture is at the dealership.

Got back to my other home after the long weekend. Come to find that the trailer was knocked off it tongue blocks. Looking more found the passenger side wheel chock was knocked out. When it fell off the tongue blocks it landed on the driver side stabilizer jack in the front and bent the top mount. Talking to the land owner and he said the gust was upwards of 50 to 60 MPH. He figured as long as the trailer was still standing was a good thing. I was more worried about the fridge but it was still cold and freezer was still frozen. So here I sit and enjoy my A/C in the RV. No harm done!

Need to buy a trailer for work to haul large plastic storm water chambers to jobsites, 4' and 5' tall, 8' long, some 8' wide. Weight wise the most I would carry would be around 3,000lbs, but normal weekly trips would only be about 1,000lbs, plus trailer weight, towing with my 1/2 ton chevy. I could squeak by with size wise with some 7x10/12' single axles, or is it worth it to go with tandem? Looking at this trailer here below, besides getting some extra room and greater gvwr, does going from single to tandem gain me much? I usually only have 2hr commutes, sometimes 3hr. This would be my trailer that I rent out to my company, I'm debating spending the extra $1,000 for a bi…
