  1. Welcome to the family. I'm sure other brothers in arms with be more than glad to teach you all about your diesel truck. You might want to ask all the questions you can...
  2. Here is USFS logic. Hey there is to much ground fuels. Let's have a prescribed burn. Opps! The fire got out of control and burn more than expected. (Tax dollars to pay for the fire fighters). Year or two later... Dang too much ground fuel again all the burnt trees are falling over. Let's have another prescribed burn. (over and over again).I keep getting told by the USFS that these burned areas are going for log sale. Yeah right! They never hauled a single tree out if any burned area ever! The other thing that gets me bent out of shape is the EPA cracking down on vehicle emissions but there is more emissions in one forest fire than the entire city of LA or NY could produce in one year. Green house gases my @r$e...
  3. Yes. Just a every day digital volt meter will do.
  4. Possible failed ECM... P0222 http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/59-obdii-error-codes/163-p0222-idle-validation-both-low P0113 http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/59-obdii-error-codes/147-p0113-intake-air-temperature-sensor-voltage-too-high P0118 http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/59-obdii-error-codes/149-p0118-engine-coolant-temperature-sensor-voltage-too-high P0238 http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/59-obdii-error-codes/168-p0238-map-sensor-voltage-too-high
  5. I've been running 15w-40 Mobile year round with winter temps as low as -20*F or so. I run the very same oils the bigger diesel truck run. As for your extreme cold up there I would opt for a 0w or 5w for cold starting but I'm not a huge fan of synthetics oils.
  6. The the battery disconnect is doing is killing the APPS calibration. How to calibrate the APPS sensor. http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/26-engine-systems/258-how-to-reset-calibrate-apps-sensor Showing that disconnecting the batteries doesn't erase anything. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=fn7J8FQ8x5w As for why it changes is most likely a battery cable issue or internal ECM issue. So my question is any error codes present when this problem occurs.
  7. Under valved trucks don't breathe like the 24V trucks do...
  8. Welcome to the family. All your knowledge is welcomed by the family here.
  9. Silencer ring...Why to keep it? - If you tow heavy trailer up long grades and like to keep some sanity leave it in.Why pull it out? - If you like lots and lots of turbo whistle noise. As for MPG or HP/TQ there is no change.
  10. One of the member came over here requesting if we would host the files as well and I explain the 20 post limit. (No response)
  11. As for the parasitic loads all you got to do is pull the IOD fuse in the cab out and that will stop. But batteries will not hold a charge just sitting either. You got to charge the batteries at least once a week or use a battery maintainer.
  12. With Internet Explorer you need to find another software to do this. Firewall or script blocking program. With Firefox just load the plugins I listed. With Opera you'll have to talk to ISX he's a pro with Opera. As with the computer there isn't much you can alter setting wise. It basically all browser you need to be able to stop the browser from reading the entire page as usual and executing all scripts without question. Look at the bottom bar it shows that I've got script blocked and 3 out of 4 I allowed i considered safe. No google ads display either. (ad block plus) kill those too. This was the option I chose when I switch over to Linux. (Default browser). But after reading up on Internet security for Ubuntu Linux Firefox is touted as a pretty good browser for security protection.
  13. Dealer and have a factory flash done. I don't know of many ways of reversing bad flashes.
  14. It's about interrupting the browser from reading harmful scripts that are compiled on web pages.
  15. It's not cookies per say it scripts (java, etc.) A cookie, also known as an HTTP cookie, web cookie, or browser cookie, is usually a small piece of data sent from a website and stored in a user's web browser while a user is browsing a website. When the user browses the same website in the future, the data stored in the cookie can be retrieved by the website to notify the website of the user's previous activity. (Passwords, etc.) Scripts on the other hand can load windows, animated windows, different functions, etc. I've personally fell in love with Firefox for that reason. Because what I got loaded is... [*]NoScript - Script blocking plugin. [*]Clean & Clean - Allow instant dumping of cache and cookies in a single click. [*]Ad Block Plus - Blocks all advertisers on the web. [*]Better Privacy - Deletes the adobe flash cookies. Yeah it tends to put some weight on Firefox but I can surf anywhere I wish and no more spam issues, no more ads, no more pop-up ads, etc. The list goes on. Then site I trust completely like my own I white list the domain so I see all the scripts and functions normally.
  16. Hex you might want to join up with www.idahoopencarry.org . I've been helping Tony the owner get the site up and rolling. Also I've been open carry my pistol now for about 2-3 months now. Any time I leave home I take it with me now. I've been out spreading the word about 2nd amendment rights and trying to get more and more people involved with Tony's site.
  17. It appears that Quadzilla is no long in business there is a long thread over on CumminsForum of this right now. http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/98-5-02-performance-parts-discussion/567639-quadzilla-out-business.html
  18. I would guess its based on the flow rate of the injector nozzle and if the nozzle can pass X amount of cc's fast enough.
  19. Guessing about 2-3 years ago. It's been awhile since that ownership change. But since the ownership change was when the design changed. To the new pre-made everything. The old school short bed bracket discontinued, no more Pushloc or JIC fittings, etc. The one that told me about all the changes was Eric over at Vulcan Performance since he was the provider of all the plumbing part for both FASS and Pureflow.
  20. Totally normal. Grid heaters pull 195 Amps with both elements going and only 95 Amps on a single element. It might be the start temperature is cold er than normal and your seeing even colder temps in the manifold so it using both elements during post heat.
  21. Hey if it burned in a forest fire it will burn in your stove just as good.
