  1. Hmmm... New Meadows, ID (north 20 miles)... Somewhere down in the second valley is home...
  2. Not too bad I've done one before... It about $25 bucks for the gasket... Just everything on that side of the engine has to come off and out of the way...
  3. Spun the tires eh? http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/cummins/2ndgen24v/abs/abs.htm (Bottom of the page)
  4. Look like a good start on a deer strainer...
  5. ScanGauge II is coming out with a USB cable update that allows you to record data nad then download the data to your computer and view it in graph form. Then the 24 XGauges that allow you to program custom gauges. Then ScanGauge II is made in the USA where UltraGauge is foreign made.
  6. Dang Russ... After all the years of living here in Idaho the only place I typically find mice is in the wood shed. But you have in your house, in your RV and in your vehicles...
  7. Ok... But lets toss in another angle of valve float. There is a certain amount of time that the spring takes to return the valve to closed position. I know this is a big factor on high performance engine and why they use heavier valve spring. I know the 24V cummins has 60# spring from the get go but I was hunting one time with ISX and found that they had 150# (plus) valve springs for the really crazy race nutz... So of course the valve float would occur early for stock springs vs a heavy valve spring. This is a gasser video but the same principals apply...
  8. No different that my 2nd Gen 24V... It nearly black in a few hundred miles... There is a tiny of black after a change but still transparent. Color of the oil is meaningless... Think about it Caj was running 20K miles between oil changes all the way to 1 million... But changed at some point got worried. But even here locally I've heard several Cummins owners changing oil at 15K to 20K miles with standard petroluem based oils... Each his own...
  9. Ummm... Someone tell Al Gore its not warming here... Take notice to all the cold spikes...Very few warm spikes.. Also notice my nightly temps range about 35-45*F still like frickken winter here... Then take notice the high and low bands are removed... I wonder why? But now notice the highs on this and compare to today... Also notice the huge amount of rain... And some comments about it being green... I setup the irragation back in April 1st and still never had to setup a sprinkler to water the lawn...
  10. Like... Now take notice to the note at the bottom...
  11. Thanx... I re-ran my tire air pressure calculator against the new tires and this is what I got... Ummm... It's been raining since April...
  12. Dang Dorkweed I think we fixed the early death of VP44 injection pumps with this stuff... Even if mine failed now I still be happy with the lifespan of the pump but... No... It continues to keep on pulling anything tied to the rear of the truck..
  13. Hijacking threads... But its all good here we aren't going to bite your head off about it but we might slobber all over your pictures though... Very interesting about the oil field info... But as for the cold icy pictures I've had enough of the cold... Seriously... My max temp today is 53*F and raining... I got up this morning in Council, ID to about 38*F... WTH is going on with the weather???
  14. Dang... The war continues on doesn't it? Wow!
  15. He must be healing if he's working the site over and coming up with ideas...
  16. FASS, Raptor or AirDog is fine... But no FASS DDRP... The DDRP doesn't have the volume nor does it correct the plumbing problems. As for the P0606 is a ECM failure code... Something happened there. Hmmm... But since the code hasn't returned I won't worry to much... But now if it comes back then you'll have to deal with the ECM.
  17. Load Range G - 3,750# (7,500#) Load Range E - 3,042# (6,084#) Funny rear axle GAWR is 6,084# for 2500 Dodge Ram's... Hey the rims where a good price and I could pass that up... A set of Pacer 16x7 rims with Load Range G tires 235/85 R16 for $1,100.00... Not bad really...
  18. What little tidbit I can provide here is that I know most people with 4" exhaust on mild moded engis say <450HP has done quite well. But as for 5" its debatable but some say too big of a pipe causes the exhaust to cool too fasts and hang in the pipe causing a loss of performance. (Heresay)
  19. Sounds like a wonderful idea...
  20. Remember on thing... "Boost doesn't make power fuel does" So now saying that you can still have good power and lower boost pressure and still make good power but now your EGT's rise quickly. This is the most common problem with guys getting large injectors... Lots of smoke but not enough boost to clear the smoke and control the EGT's. Even when I blew a single 6mm bolt out of the manifold I was down to a max boost pressure of 8 PSI still had all the power I want but smoke and EGT's... Holy chit dude! The whole thing cause by 1 single 6mm bolt popping out of manifold.
  21. That's what my steel white spoke rim are for my rescue boat of tire... And they did exactly that! Now to get ready to day to get the new rims and rubber! (Bling!)
  22. No... OBDII can't see that... Just like the 2nd Gen 24V... Only different is the CR is electrically fired not pressure. Like said before lack of boost pressure... Might be time to throw some gauges in...
  23. It was confirmed years ago on a dyno by a fellow Cummins owner they ran with and without a silencer ring and both runs basically where the same. So no there is no change in performance just sound...
  24. OMG... Thats funny...
