  1. (Answer to the joke) He just keeps Comin' and Comin' and Comin' (Yeah I know bad joke ) If you got room for 2 batteries you might consider adding a second battery... It makes the difference in dry camping... Like in my back yard...
  2. Because my friend has never been up there before and thought nothing about driving up the hill with the trailer but since I've been here done that I agreed to follow close enough that I could honk the horn to alert him to steep grades coming... 6% or 7% is childs play. Try 12% to 16% grades... Then I'm using a exhaust brake... Buddy doesn't have one on his 1st gen... So grab 1st gear and tap the brakes all the way down. That outerwear had holes in it so fast that it was worthless in about 6 months for washboard roads and it jiggling around just absolutely ruined it in a short order... Now after being without all these years I found as long as the filter is kept dry and doesn't get oil on it it will self shed the dust from the road vibration. So every washboard road I travel just shakes the dust right out of it again. The most I will do is turn the filter over 180* so the top is down and it will shake lose the dust. As a matter of fact I'm going to have to build a new aluminum heat shield soon the vibration and dust is going to wear holes through the metal... But I check the filter minder twice a year and place the nipple to my lips and pull a light vacuum on it if the disk pulls down to the end then its working fine. So till the disk moves I'm not going to worry about changing filters again.
  3. D'Oh! I'm no better I've got a Sthl 046 with a 26" bar and it wipes out the arms and lower back in a short order. I've had a nice day for driving all the way to Ontario, OR... (Quiet sitting time)
  4. Yeah I think it need a bit of editing...
  5. As for the other battery its starting to fail... Batteries on RV's are just like the Cummins replace the entire set not just one. Batteries should never get warm while charging that's a sign of a internal short inside the battery. Just for fun (Joke) What happen to the energizer bunny if you stick his batteries in backwards??? (Answer later tonight)
  6. After this is done he should get better MPG's...
  7. Ummm... The batteries are in the basement (garage). OMG... Little more on them... http://www.trojanbatteryre.com/PDF/datasheets/L16REB_Trojan_Data_Sheets.pdf http://www.trojanbatteryre.com/Products/Deep_Cycle_Premium_Line.html Charging... http://www.trojanbattery.com/BatteryMaintenance/Charging.aspx Inteli-Power 9100 manual (What's in my Jayco) http://www.progressivedyn.com/CONVERTER_MANUAL.pdf
  8. It is for me... Personally I'd say Edge Comp... But since most want toyz and gauges for free they do the Edge Juice... Quadzilla is a good performance unit that produces more HP than Edge but that the most I can tell ya...
  9. Nope mine is still in the same spot but if I was not using a stock filter can (fuel heater) my fuel pressure gauge would be hooked up back at the AirDog way back under the truck.
  10. When you cranking on the starter the ECM send a on - off - on - off - on signal ot the lift pump at exactly 50% off and %50 percent on. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCJjMzRImpA
  11. Actually you want to be as far from the VP44 as possible... Water hammer is the #1 killer of gauges, senders and pressure switches... http://articles.mopar1973man.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=34:instrumentation-fuel-pressure-gauge-and-water-hammer-effects&catid=14&Itemid=115
  12. Heck... On my way off the mountain I got to Riggins, ID and it was 104*F yesterday... Then today we hit 95*F here at the house and then in McCall, ID is was still 89*F at 5,200 ft elevation... Me... I can handle cold sooooo Good... Not a problem... Its the heat I can't deal with... I'll I do is pour sweat all over my glasses and can't see a dang thing anyways...
  13. Something I'm starting to see after hauling heavy. Like I just spent the weekened hauling firewood off the mountain did about 14 MPG for the weekend. But after it was all said and done the truck is empty and headed for McCall, ID for some groceries and couldn't hit even close to 20 MPG?!?! WTH! What I think happens is the ECM/PCM tend to anticipate the drivers requirements / load requirements. I'm assuming mine will return to normal here shortly after a few empty miles. I know there is no documentation on this but I've heard stories of this for GM products... I think it could be possible for Dodge/Cummins too.

  15. Another great article added to the site... http://articles.mopar1973man.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=50:engine-how-to-change-your-oilfilter&catid=14&Itemid=115 Thank you ISX.
  16. Yeah those are wiped out...
  17. That's what tripods are good for...
  18. Do it! I'd love to add more information to this more the merrier...
  19. How a pic of the truck? Dang I would of thrown the deer in the bed of the truck and made jerky out it... The only thing I can say about common rail is to get the best fuel filter you can for the truck and don't skimp. Most all injector problems turn into big dollar engine problems that usually require a short block. So if there is a existing injector problem on the truck I would tell them you'll only buy the truck if all 6 injectors are replaced.
  20. Dare to be different. Now that I think about I don't think they have short bed 3500 DRW...
  21. The cheap nylon oil pressure line will get rather brittle in about a year or two so when you put your hand down to get to the power steering cap you'll most likely break the line right there. :banghead: Been there and done that way to many times... I still got a stock of extra ferrules...
  22. Opps my bad I thought I pasted the link... :banghead: http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/product/inteli-power-rv-switcherconverter/1768
