  1. As far as ASTM guide states... The ASTM Standard Specification for Diesel Fuel Oils (D-975) states, "The cetane number requirements depend on engine design, size, nature of speed and load variations, and on starting and atmospheric conditions. Increase in cetane number over values actually required does not materially improve engine performance. Accordingly, the cetane number specified should be as low as possible to insure maximum fuel availability." Higher the cetane the lower the BTU's. So basically in a nutshell higher the cetane lower the MPG's. Just like winter time the cetane goes up here and the MPG's go down.
  2. I tend to agree. It these very same people you'll find later on with more issues transmission & driveline wise. Constantly fight to keep things from breaking and failing on the highway. Then look like this towing...
  3. Bad part is if your pump debris back into the reservoir you going to cause future problems. Best to pump into a waste container.
  4. Dream on... 2.859 for Diesel and 2.659 for 87 Unleaded. Heading to for 3.00 a gallon for diesel...
  5. Your going to remove all the injectors any ways and all the high pressure tubes will be off so there is no fuel getting to the head or cylinders. I will not shoot fuel with all the lines off it will be more or less just drooling from the common rail.
  6. On 3 cylinder mode and exhaust brake I can go from -25*F to 170*F in under 10 minutes. Hard pressed to do in 6 cylinder mode. Also my high idle is not an APPS kicker like quadzilla.
  7. Check for excessive AC noise from the alternator. Measure the AC voltage at the BATT terminal on the alternator. It should be 0.01 to 0.02 volts typically. 0.05 is marginal.. 0.10 is absolute failure...
  8. I wish I could be there to help out Russ at times but there is a lot of miles between us. Like CTCummins said "Never Give Up!"
  9. As for the quick connect fittings there is two styles of fitting one with a long male fitting is the trouble maker as what I understand.
  10. Difference in wood type. I'm using soft wood like spruce, red fir and apline fir. So what happens for me is the wood burns extremely hot and you have to choke the stove down to keep from roasting to death in the house. Temps can and have been above 80*F inside the house. So the problem is if you choke the stove low enough to be comfortable the smoke is rolling and creosote is growing in the top of the chimney. Now Dorkweed is burning hardwood and it much cleaner wood than softwood. Red Fire is some pretty hot wood. https://chimneysweeponline.com/howood.htm

  12. I asked Eric about that and his simple answer was... Most people couldn't figure out how to use the Push Loc fittings. We both agree just put the fitting on the floor and use your body mass and push the hose over the barb. Sad to say most of general public had problems with it so AirDog went to the quick connections. (Yuck!)
  13. I'm going to sweep mine some time soon before the storms roll in. Then I'm typically good for the whole winter. If I burn the right wood at the right time I don't have much issues. Seriously cold temp will cause a creosote plug right at the top of the chimney for about 6-9 inches down. Typically those are easy to fix chuck of 2x4 and pop the plug and go to go again.
  14. Only two?!?!? Hell I've been burning wood since about the first of October. This morning low was 40*F and today's high is a mere 54*F.
  15. I know there is a lot of people that lost faith in AirDog products. Again I just called and talked to Eric at Vulcan Performance about a AirDog part I need for a job. Again I asked about how many AirDog warranties that have be sent back to him. As for AirDog 100 or AirDog 150 they are stable once again for pump and motors but as for the Raptor line its still shaky. As for the AirDog series the only thing both Eric and myself agree on is the pre-made plumbing is really of poor quality with the quick connect system. There is a older fitting that is creating a air leak issue. So we both agree that cutting all that off and going back to Push-Loc fittings is the best thing. I'm fighting with a 1995 Dodge right now and AirDog 150 that has a air leak issue.
  16. Animal right activist would be all over this as cruelty to animals trapping, relocating, tagging, and then air dropped creating stress on the animals. Then the others would get all up in arms for the parachute and box left in the wilderness area as a littering problem.
  17. This design is any where the cable will reach mount drill a hole and go for it.
  18. Should be working now. I've been busy tuning in the server for the software sorry for the error message.
  19. Here is the wiring for it... backup.pdf
  20. Short to power? As far as I know even my truck requires the key to be ON to get backup lights to come on.
  21. ... or the stray grey hairs!
  22. This batch we are making just the standard length. So no it will not reach. But the next batch we should be able to make a few longer ones. Might as Me78569 if he'll make you custom long one...
