Spare tire bumper mounted carrier
I'm just not sure how tough trailer hub is compared to a machined piece of dom tube. I've seen few videos on YouTube where people used trailer hubs. Some of them trailer hubs look like they are casted and some of them look like they are machined. I suppose the machined ones could be casted also just cleaned up. I'm with you, I think I'll look just fine behind the tailgate even without the topper of camper shell. Depends on the design but I might even throw a jack and the gas can on it too. Luckily I haven't needed a spare tire either, but you just never know. On several occasions I did need some air and a tire patch kit, that's why I put on board air and carry a patch kit now.

Spare tire bumper mounted carrier
Even if I could put it back under, I don't think I want to. I kinda like the look of tire on back bumper on swing arm. If I haul something where I need tail gate open, tire swing will just stay open, so it will stick out maybe a foot on passenger side. I hope I won't need a wide load sign for that, and it would be a rear ocasion.

Spare tire bumper mounted carrier
Been thinking about this idea ever since I made my rear bumper. My spare tire has always been in the bed, it can't fit in original spot because of 5" exhaust and the tire holder rotted away long ago. So I've been studying up on this idea and looking at different setups. Comp4x4 sells heavy duty hinge kit but currently closed due to moving. I thought about using bushing stock also but not set on that yet, then there is the trailer hub/spindle idea. Just wanted to see opinions, good, bad.... not only on what to use but the whole idea in general Edit Some ideas https://www.google.com/search?q=bumper+tire+carrier&client=ms-android-verizon&prmd=sivn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwivrNTD9aXgAhUPKawKHYgpAGAQ_AUoAnoECA0QAg&biw=360&bih=560

That would be nice, but unfortunately not very many businesses do that anymore.

4x4 Troubleshooting
You can just put front end on jacks and put a hose on actuator and start (no dirty thinking) sucking and see if it engages by turning driver side tire. Then put that piece of tube on the other line/fitting and see if it disengage. That will let you know where to look next.

Lol ok I'm catching up, ya just never know.

4x4 Troubleshooting
I was going to say, if the light is coming on then vacuum is pulling the vacuum actuator far enough to trip the light sensor but if vacuum is weak maybe it's not engaging all the way. If you put it in 4x4 can you spin front driveshaft by hand, if not then tansfer case is working and problem is in vacuum lines or actuator. Being you just did injectors, I'd say it's vacuum line partly lose or could be a hole in a 90 elbow, just inspect it better. All them rubber elbows rot after time.

You lost me there, but I'll probably get it in few days. But I agree with what you're saying

Dead truck P0216
It's probably a mistake, unless I don't know something, which is very likely. I'm sorry for my observations, I was born that way if I was dumber, I'd be very happy with everything in my life, but noooo I have to go look for things to deal with

I was going to do the transistor deal at one time, but after taking care of all the electrical Gremlins problem went away.

I agree with what you're saying especially on a legendary Cummins diesel. EPA had a lot to do with that and honestly if I can get 250-300k out of the pump I'm ok with that, on fly tuning compensates for longetivity for me. Now the pumps that lasted less than 100k is truly sad. I know there are a lot of variables as to why, but still. I do miss my 12 valve with p7100 to a point, it was simple and it just ran. Didn't have to worry about AC noise or any of that crap. The body was falling apart, I wanted to put that entire drivetrain into a Suburban but never got time to do it

Turbo smart blow off valve
So would a blow off valve prevent this failure or was it over spead and flew apart.

Turbo smart blow off valve
So did turbo have anything to do with rebuilding or just the cracked 53 is why you rebuilt it. Didn't some turbo pieces make it to engine?
